Forza Horizon 3

Turn 10 Studios has kept up a long-standing tradition of inviting fans to guess the contents of its downloadable car packs, and that ritual continues ahead of November’s Forza Horizon 3 update.

After a successful inaugural season, Turn 10 have revealed that the Forza Racing Championship eSports competition is returning for a second season, set to kick off on November 7. With the event being sponsored by Michelin, Logitech G and Playseat, players will ultimately go at it for cash and prizes worth more than $150,000.

It has been five years since Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios and previous Halo developer Bungie teamed up to bring the M12 Force Application Vehicle to Forza Motorsport 4. Now, the battletested four-wheeler from the future returns to the home front for a more racy cameo in Forza Horizon 3.

While it’s never the wisest idea to cheat one’s way to victory in an online-dependent game of any nature for fear of gross imbalances, Turn 10 have announced in the latest Week in Review that action is being taken against PC players, permanently banning them from what is arguably the backbone of Horizon 3 itself: online play.

As gamers continue to get settled in with the acclaimed Forza Horizon 3, the cadence for the open-world racer’s Forzathon kicks into high gear.

Earlier this month saw the release of the Smoking Tire Car Pack, introducing 7 new rides to Forza Horizon 3 in addition to various bug fixes for Xbox One and Windows 10 users. October is looking to be an action-packed month for the maturing game as Turn 10’s Brian Ekberg details the second update being released later today.

Last seen in Forza Motorsport 4, the cult classic 1994 Nissan Silvia K’s is back with the franchise, but only for those who manage to drift their way through week two of Forzathon.

Just days after a collection of downloadable content was ushered into to the wonderfully wild world of Forza Horizon 3, the newfangled Forzathon opens up an opportunity for gamers to unlock even more content through an assortment of activities.

No, this isn’t a reference to Star Trek featuring the late Leonard Nimoy. Instead of performing nerve pinches throughout the Australian Outback, you’ll venture onto a more logical path as you’re tasked with getting behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Vulcan. The Aston track car is one of seven new rides set to be included in this month’s car pack offerings, if a recent leak is to be believed.

Next week, Ford of Australia will produce its very last car. The Broadmeadows assembly plant will cap off a 57-year production run of over 4.5 million sedans, wagons, utes and crossovers on October 7. Only two days ago, the Geelong facility — Australia’s oldest of its kind — wrapped up engine production after 91 years.

Today, console and PC players alike can rejoice: Early Access to Forza Horizon 3 is here, bringing the entirety of this year’s open-world epic to those opting for the digital Ultimate Edition 4 days ahead of its official street date. For those without such a privilege your journey begins on September 27th when the game officially hits retail (and digital) shelves.

Forza Horizon 3 officially launches in the Xbox One and Windows 10 ecosystems on September 27, but owners of the Ultimate Edition gain early access in a matter of hours depending on location.
