Gran Turismo 6

When we first launched our book, GTPEDIA: GTPlanet’s Guide to the World of Gran Turismo, in November of 2012, we knew it would need to grow and change as the games evolved, and offered free, downloadable updates to cover corrections and new additions.

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 6, featuring two new time trial events exclusive to the Jaguar XKR-S and Toyota 86 GT.

The fourth update for Gran Turismo 6 is now available, and it brings with it the Corvette Stingray Gran Turismo Concept that was first shown at SEMA 2013, the second half of the Red Bull X Challenge events which also adds the “Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Standard” and “Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Fan Car” to the in-game dealership, as well as the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Racing Series, which is a separate version of the previously released AMG Vision vehicle that is “optimized for the competitive racing scene”.

At the Fukuoka Motor Show in Fukuoka, Japan (home to Polyphony Digital’s new headquarters), a new version of Gran Turismo 6 was available, revealing multi-screen display support.

Kazunori Yamauchi made a special appearance at the Taipei Game Show this weekend, and the first announcements are coming in from Taiwanese sites Gamerhotline and UDN (as kindly translated by our own Yui-san).

If you had the chance to join us for yesterday’s live Gran Turismo roundtable discussion, you probably noticed a mysterious track was revealed in a new trailer for GT6 (thanks to ameer67 for grabbing these screenshots).

SCEA has announced the release date for KAZ: Pushing the Virtual Divide, a documentary about the history of Gran Turismo and its creator, Kazunori Yamauchi. The film will be released on January 22, 2014 via web streaming service, Hulu.

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 6, featuring three new time trial events exclusive to the Volkswagen Scirocco R, KTM X-Bow, and the Acura NSX.

The third update for Gran Turismo 6 is now available, and it brings with it the all-new Toyota FT-1 Concept Coupé, a full interior to the 2014 BMW M4 Coupé, new Seasonal Events, as well as amending the date of availability of the remaining Red Bull X Challenges which now reads “Available in January 2014”.

Toyota is kicking off the North American International Auto Show with the reveal of their latest flagship concept – the FT-1 Concept coupé.

Dale Lomas is a driving instructor and race car driver at the Nurburgring, and he had the chance to drive the Swiss Racing Toyota GT86 in a VLN race at the circuit last year. When he got his hands on GT6, he quickly purchased the game’s GT86 Race Car to create this comparison video.

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 6, featuring three new time trial events exclusive to the Lancia Delta HF, Honda S2000 and the 15th Anniversary cars.

Gran Turismo 6 is currently on sale for $39.99 at Amazon and Gamestop, saving you $20 off the regular price. Great for those who put off the game previously, or were waiting for a price drop.

Mario Andretti’s 1948 Hudson is now available in Gran Turismo 6, giving players firsthand experience with the car responsible for kicking off Mario Andretti’s racing career.

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 6, featuring two new time trial events exclusive to the Alfa Romeo Mito and the 15th Anniversary cars.

Sony has published the first gameplay video of Mario Andretti’s 1948 Hudson, which will become available in Gran Turismo 6 on December 19th.
