Fulfilling their promise of consistently expanding the roster of cars featured in Gran Turismo 6, Polyphony Digital has updated the game’s official car list to include a few important new models.
Gran Turismo 6 players will be the first to sample the new series BMW M4 before it releases to car buyers in the Summer of 2014. In an exclusive deal with the famous German marque, GT6 will deliver this car into players’ garages as free DLC coming soon after GT6’s launch. The car was spotted around Ronda, Spain, during the Gran Turismo 6 Launch party on day one and then saw track time at Ascari Race Resort circuit in the following day of events.
When the Lunar Roving Vehicle was first revealed in Gran Turismo 6, it caused quite a stir and immediately became one of the most unique and noteworthy cars in the history of the franchise.
Amongst all the announcements at the GT6 launch event in Ronda, Spain, one of the most unexpected surprises came from the city of Ronda itself, as the mayor announced a street would be named in honor of Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

There’s yet another way to get yourself a 15th Anniversary car for Gran Turismo 6, this time it’s in the form of a social media promotion from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. The first Gran Turismo 6 game discs have been printed (offered referred to in the industry as going “gold”), and a few are making their way into the hands of journalists, according to reports from NeoGAF. They’ll be unable to share their impressions until “next Friday” (December 6), when the game releases worldwide.
Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published a short hands-on preview describing the first few steps in starting your virtual career in Gran Turismo 6’s single player campaign. The article begins with a description of the driver “tutorial” that begins immediately when the game first launches. This will be similar to the driving introduction players went through when first loading up the GT6 GT Academy Demo. It also mentions having to register a “name” before the tutorial gets started, again, in line with the process in the GT Academy Demo.
Legendary Italian American Indy 500, 24 Hours of Daytona, Daytona 500 winner and Formula 1 Champion Mario Andretti is at the center of a new GT6 First Love campaign in which GT fans get to take part in a historic rebuild project. The First Love Campaign is broken into three “Chapters:” Andretti, Live Build, and Reunion.
