The radical new Chaparral 2X Vision GT concept car has been making waves around the Internet and the automotive industry since it was revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month, and visitors to the “PlayStation Experience” will have a chance to see and (virtually) drive the car for themselves this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A full-size model of the Chaparral will be on display, and Gran Turismo 6 will be featured in its own special booth, full of driving sleds and Thrusmaster T500RS wheels for attendees. The GT team will also be hosting a time trial competition at the event, with special in-game prizes up for grabs – keep an eye out for more information on the show floor.
The PlayStation Experience is a massive, two-day celebration of the PlayStation brand and video games. It will consume over 400,000 square feet of the Venetian convention center in Las Vegas, and will feature developer panels, keynote speakers, contests, signings, giveaways, merchandise, memorabilia, hands-on demos, and other announcements.
Tickets for the public are still available – check out the official site for more information.

I am hoping that there will be some sort of major announcement out of this, I think GT6 is great but I’ve played the hell out of it and it’s time for the next game.
It just does not make sense to bring the chaparrel VGT car to a major event just to say “we got this new car”, it is pointless. It seems to me that there’s more to it than that.
^This.
I sure hope they finally announce the course creator so the features of GT6 can get closer to matching that of GT5.
@infamousphil Circuito de la Sìerra a standard track? O.O Really?
I’m literally laughing right now.
I think that is officially the stupidest thing I’ve ever read on GT Planet, and I’ve seen more stupid comments on here then you could imagine.
Sierra is by far one of the nicest looking tracks PD has ever modelled.
I don’t think this guy understands what rendering actually is. Sierra was rendered beautifully especially for the PS3.
Hell, it looks amazing even compared to the tracks in Driveclub. Nothing standard about that.
Beautiful? Sierra is bland. The scenery is repetitive and the track has many odd unrealistically angled turns and banks. It seems like something a generic course generator would create.
Snake, you and Mr. Brady here, may need to get your eyes checked.
Oh dear god, the bashing has gotten DESPARATE now. XD
Desperate? No. Just stating facts. It’s a beautiful location, yes. But render quality is low, trackside objects are minimal, and on par with Drive Club? Funniest thing I’ve read all day. Hilarious even. It made me laugh on the inside.
Its a PS3 game for Christ’s sake. People act so surprised when a game ain’t up to what they expected.
As usual, people misread posts on this site and then bash them for it – take the time to comprehend what someone is saying before you comment.
Phil simply said that Sierra is a standard track for the course maker, a template so to speak. He also said that the render quality was poor. Yes, the track looks good, but I think some of us are blind, deaf and dumb to the flaws of the game. I raced 5 laps of this track online with a few friends last night and the whole time we talked about the course. Part of the track looks like it was mapped and others created with the course maker, especially sectors 13-16 (the two bridges until this finish line).
The track is a lot of fun, but it could be a lot better with some of the turns and jumps removed and a better render quality.
PD gave us a new track and then we complain that a tree looks bad. Your racing, your not out for a drive in the country. Watch the road and other cars and don’t look at the scenery. If your looking at the people on the side of the track, your not trying hard enough.
For what it is and as long as it is, it’s fine for a PS3. I think of it as being on real country roads with the dips, rises, off chamber turns and the unexpected bumps in a turn. What was left off was the cross roads and intersections that would have told everyone it’s a track that’s on real roads like many other “real” tracks in GT6.
BUT, the strangest thing is that I’m defending PD! :(
Big deal! It’s only a Dlc car, at least show us a glimpse of GT7?
Considering this is by and large a PS4 event, and GT6 will likely be the only PS3 game present, my guess is that a glimpse is more than likely.
Nice! I wonder what else will be announced!
Another Kas photo-op?
Why does Kaz treat these like big things? It’s just one DLC car. XD
To him it is, he isn’t you. He is living his dream right now, can you fault the guy?
Also just because GT6 will be on hand at a show doesn’t necessarily mean that Kaz and company will be there. In fact you’ll probably only see non-essential staff at these things as Kaz and company are working on 2 games simultaneously. Tidying up GT6 on PS3 and seeing what sort of insanity they can pull on PS4.
This is a big deal though. This automobile is the first to bear the Chaparral namesake in over 35 years.
So, um… anyone have any tickets to Las Vegas?
I hope this means the next update will come over the next few days. This car looks quite delicious~
Also, GT6’s anniversary is in a few days :)
Incoming GT7 reveal and timetable.
One can only hope…
Will Kaz be there to answer the questions that GTPlanet has been asking for months now?
Even if, he will more than likely just be giving a presentation. A Q&A for such a large group of attendees doesn’t seem feasible to me.
It can be a side panel with a smaller group. People do that all the time at these types of events.
Considering the nature of the event, the size of the venue, and the fact that it will last for 2 days, It just doesn’t seem sensible to do that.
There are going to be a $#!t ton of other things going on with other games on display over the course of 2 days. I’m sure each dev making an announcement will have a time slot for whatever presentation they will want to make or display, and @ that time, hundreds of attendees will flock to the presentation of the hour. People will be coming and going throughout the entire time trying to take in as much as possible. A side panel would have to answer questions all day to reach all the people there. I doubt they’d want to answer the same questions over and over again.
It’s more likely that they will discuss key topics of interest in their presentation, and then finish it off with a teaser of GT7.
December update will feature the car, but can we actually expect something really big? (Course maker of course!)
Sorry Gabe, there will be NO course creator for 6. There’s just no room for it ;(
PD, though they won’t admit it, saw it fit to fill the finite space with other (more important?) stuff like VGT and Sierra. Speaking of the new track, ever notice how crappy Sierra has been rendered? Not complaining but Sierra seems to be the “standard” track, even when compared to the original courses like Deep Forest and Trial Mountain.
It will make it… It will more than likely only be able to create “standard” tracks, but it will come…
I also expect a heavy drip of GT7 teasers, tidbits, and info to follow shortly after to help relieve tensions from those wanting and expecting more.
If they don’t then they will be slapped with a false advertising suit and all of us will be owed out money back. Can someone say “class-action”?
*our
Remember 20 miles by 20 miles(20 miles squared)?
You can still find Kaz comments about this on the internet.
Was supposed to be a GIANT course maker.
All this other crap I never wanted.
I was salivating over this course maker.
You could make your own Sierra with it.
Can anyone say, “replay value”?
More like 12.5 miles (20 km) squared. Still big tho’.
Now more than ever I wished I was close to vegas. How about coming to Philly next.
