Did all races and won with a Zonda-R @ 650pp…. nurb was prob the easiest of them… I hate that stupid Eifel course… it’s too fast, wide, and confusing.

    1. Pvig73

Agree with you regarding Eifel. To many gradients in a short track. The first three races I just won with a 787b but I think it was lack of motivation as my mind was on GT Academy 13/GT6 demo mode but got motivated once on the Nurb and overtook the lead car at the Karoussel.

  2. showmethepuppiz

Cleared nurb using the GT-R R35 TC at 650pp, passed that XJR about 15 seconds before that long arse straight, won it with an 8 second lead. one of the best seasonal races so far, I’m gonna do it a few more times with other cars at 600pp….

  3. Niyologist

I cleared Nurburgring with the Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car. Epic and heart pounding battle on the last straightaway. I became victorious at the very last second before the finish line at the very last corner. Awesome.

  4. Dogga23

What car do people use to win at Nurburgring. I can’t get within 10 seconds of the Jaguar. Even when using the Minolta.
All othe races were won no problem.
Help or suggestions would be appreciated an you shall be rewarded with virgins of your choice.

    1. Dogga23

Never mind. Won it using the GT-one.
But only by ramming into the jag without breaking at the end of the long straight and spinning him out

    2. heavyq

I used my XJR-9. My 787B for some reason wasn’t cutting it. I had to tune the Jag though, it was a huge pain without messing with the suspension.

  5. Niyologist

Tune the Toyota GT-One Race Car ’99 properly and then it’s ready to clobber the competition.

    1. Jayson619

Same here; Toyota GT-One is a BEAST! And I didn’t even tune it!

They better PREMIUM that car in GT6!

  6. sind3ntosca

After play all GT6 DEMO challenges… and tried like maybe 50 times to get Gold, now got all GOLD! Yes…

…and then start up GT5 just to keep the Log In bonus. I see there’s new seasonal event… whaat 710PP?? I tried it using my Toyota One. And whooooooot… it’s still amazing!! Smoke them all easily on Tokyo Route 246. As i remember, i’ve never been this good.

I think it’s because i learn a lot from GT6 to get Gold. My braking and turning technique is different now… i guess it’s better… well thx GT6! Hohoho :)

Tomorrow will try the other 4 tracks :)

And btw, the SRF was OFF. As i remember…. or my mind get confused @_@.

    1. sind3ntosca

Yeah i get confused… i think it was OFF, other people saying that too… but i guess PD turn them ON again, LOL… maybe they forgot at first… dang! :p

  7. HaylRayzor

If you can win these events with the CR-Z TC then you’re hardcore, even with Stupid Ridiculous Force.

  8. kekke2000

I did the first event with a 680 PP Minolta. I did had a major crash on lap 3, last corner where I spun out. Still I managed to pass the leader on the last straight by slipstreaming almost all the way to the finish line. I will keep doing the races with this car. Except the last one, I hate those tracks so it will be 710 for that one.

    1. TokoTurismo

      ^ lol! xD

Yeah GT6’s new physics is so good, I’m not sure if GT5 is worth my attention anymore. ;)

    2. ThatBlokeThere

Well… Gran Turismo 5 might have the GT4 effect after GT6 has reached the age of about a year or so, so I would advise you to keep your copy of GT5 safe somewhere.

    3. TomBrady

But there’s so much you can do in GT5 that you can’t do at the moment in GT6. GT6 is just a demo right now. Once the full GT6 comes out, then I’d agree.

There’s still a purpose for GT5 right now.

    4. infamousphil

For those who are still interested… I will continue HighPerformanceStreet racing until I can get it up and running on 6.

Because of PD’s pp system, it took too long to group the street cars (with wings) into proper hp/kg/pp category ratings. I’m at 98 percent now, so all I need now are folks willing to install wings on their cars. Most are not willing, I find, but will continue nonfazed.

BTW, HighPerformanceStreet (HPS) is system to which the cars entered must be able to have equal hp/kg/pp by way of weight reduction, performance enhancing part installation and aerodynamic/wing adjustment. I am genuinely surprised that this system has yet to be realized by the true fans of the series, that is GT.

    5. MuoNiuLa

@z71L28: Please educate us with your professional opinion. Tell us what aspects of GT5’s physics are better than GT6’s.

  9. Tvensky

when we will get, standing starts and qualify??? these races are all starting from the back… all of them.. is that normal? or is it me? I just tired from starting from behind.. over and over again…. at least online saves the day.. we have everything there.. but still, more realistic and mature singe player is very welcome, or I will not even start GT6 career.. the game is day 1 buy anyways.. just for the physics!!!

    1. Fogerty_Jr

I think that rolling starts are a patch to partly compensate for the shameful AI. If you had static starts, starting from the back, you would be first by the second corner

    2. Force-Feedback

We havent had qualifying (thats optional for those impatient people) that includes testing/free run in all races since GT1, i also liked the world championship where you had to ‘move up the leagues’ by country, continent and then the world that was on GT2, great sense of ‘climbing the ladder’ as a racing driver.

I hate all this levelling and limited performance points stuff, not to mention being GIVEN quick cars so you actually dont have to buy a car whatsoever! (That is the same problem i have with Forza 4) not to mention to bring back the massive used car markets like in GT1 and 2. I remember buying the cheap cars and then working hard on the non-licence races to get the car quick enough for the later races.

They’re going to have to approach GT7 differently if they want to be back ahead of the competition.

    3. infamousphil

Lets hope qualifying and rolling starts with a full 16 (same class) car grid returns in 6. Unfortunately, the pp system’s inclusion in the demo is not a
      good sign.

    4. TomBrady

I don’t get why the AI needs rolling starts to be tough to beat.

GT PSP had extremely hard to beat AI. I couldn’t beat the AI unless I had better tires. Then again, using a PSP to control a car is not nearly as easy as using a wheel or even a dualshock 3, but still, the AI was far tougher in GT PSP.

  10. infamousphil

The previous ‘DreamCar’ event was limited to 650pp. Maybe the AI is a little quicker this time around. That would be a nice change but they’re probably given a bigger head start. At least the event coincides with the new online dealership full of PDGT cars.

  11. SillyBillyP

    GT5 The real driving simulator.
It’s so great that the cars in these seasonal events can’t skid. Simulation to the max! And just in case we’d prefer the cars were able to skid, we don’t even have the choice. It’s so cool.
I’ve been looking for the SRF switch in my own car but can’t find it. I phoned the garage to ask where my car’s SRF switch is, but had the impression the man on the phone was not taking it seriously. I asked to speak to the manager – he explained that SRF is on by default in my car. Wow! Just like in GT5!
Does anyone else have SRF forced on in their car?

    1. GTHEAD87

For the demo it is fair if everyone has the same car, same setup and same settings. I dont understand why they have changed it to permanent on the seasonals but I dont really mind.

    2. 0ldman279

I don’t think it is fair for the cars to all be identically configured.

People’s driving styles are different. I can certainly understand being given the same car, HP, TQ, weight, etc, but I might prefer for the rear to come loose a tad earlier than you to match my driving style and I’d like to alter the suspension and traction control to do so.

  12. HuskyGT

I stopped doing these after while. I usually just do one race and then go back to Arcade mode. and after all the hype with GT6’s demo, I’ll find it hard to enjoy these.

However, 710pp sounds interesting. Only top race cars I suppose. I will give them a try.

    1. varmintx

If, somehow, I actually run short of credits, I’ll do them, but that practically never happens as the only things I buy now are a tires, rims and transmissions for the standards I’m going through. Arcade with the AI aggression at 10 and full damage is the only way I really play anymore.

I sure hope GT6’s Career mode allows for those options as going back to a seasonal where they’re not feels like serious regression.

    2. Feldynn

I don’t do any of the new ones if they suffer from the Skid Recovery Farce, on the off chance I need some extra cash I simply go back and do some of the earlier ones that don’t have beginner level aids forced on.

    3. GTHEAD87

I do, I want to get to level 40 and ill be satisfied. Takes so long and Im halfway through 39. They can be fun but could be better races like endurance or something

    4. TomBrady

I’m sure plenty of people still do them.

I would do them every week if it weren’t for SRF. I’m not playing GT5 with SRF on. That’s garbage

    1. mef

It would be close to a ‘dream car’ for me to have this sitting in the garage as track toy, next to my daily driver :)
