The European round of GT Academy 2014 makes its cable television debut today, with the premiere of a new reality show on ITV4 in the UK. The show, which airs on Wednesday evenings at 8:00pm local time, covers all the drama of the finalists at this year’s Race Camp at Silverstone.
As always, you’ll find many of your fellow GTPlanet member starring in the show, and you can chat with them here in our GT Academy forums.
Of course, the North American competitors’ Race Camp experience is broadcast here in the United States, each Friday at 11:30pm Eastern Time on Spike TV.

Oh joy – why did they have to go the UK Reality Show route? Something that gives hope and has been hard won by each of the participants, will be broken down to idiot size, pre-digested chunks.
Sorry, I hate reality TV.
I very rarely agree with your views but in this case +1000000000000000000000000!
You mean you don’t want to see TOWIGTA (The only way is GT Academy)?…
That’s perfectly alright Mr Tyre – it would be a boring world if we all agreed with each other all of the time ;)
Jim, I have absoutely no idea what you just alluded to…some kind of acronym?
That judge… why should I bother xD
Ok, a bit harsh from myself there. He was put in a difficult situation, but he made it at least sound like he eliminated someone with a gut feeling/presumption that he wouldn’t make a good racing driver.
There were a few other activities that the gamers took part in before the first round of eliminations, but were not televised (benchmark challenge, driver training session and day at Bedford Autodrome). Presumably these also factored into each judge’s decision to eliminate.
I’m surprised they cut out the benchmark challenge; it would have been nice to some actual lap times.
