To celebrate the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, EA is making F1 22 free to play across the entire race weekend.
From now until midnight Pacific Time on Sunday October 23 (0600 UTC on Monday October 24), players on Xbox can get free access to the entire F1 22 game. PlayStation and Steam players get a little longer with the title, with the promotion running through to the same time on Monday October 24.
In addition, all players who log into the game between now and November 7 will receive special, celebratory customization items. There’s a new Stars and Stripes vehicle livery, and matching helmet, race suit and gloves, along with a new “The Griddy” podium celebration dance.
You’ll need to download the game and all updates to your chosen platform in order to take advantage of the offers.
To go with the free play weekend, EA has also announced a special in-game competition called the “Ricciardo Hot Lap Challenge”. All you need to do is take part in the challenge and post your best lap to Twitter with the #RicciardoChallenge and #F122gameSweepstakes hashtags (an email entry is also possible) before October 24.
One entry will be chosen at random on October 28 — from entries from eligible players in Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada (except Quebec), Chile, France, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States (including DC) — for the grand prize: a meet and greet with Ricciardo himself at a yet-to-be-determined date.
Handily EA has also teamed up with Ricciardo for a COTA lap guide, which you can see in the video above!
