Free-to-play mobile F1 game F1 Mobile Racing is due to get an update in early May that adds all of the 2020 F1 season content.
The title, from the F1 game series publisher Codemasters and Gear.Club developer Eden Games, is available on both Android and iOS devices, and offers several different game modes. Players can create their own cars, or simply race with the official teams, in grand prix events, or race head-to-head in single lap competitions on global leaderboards. Since launch in October 2018, the game has had 18 million downloads.
May’s update, officially called Update 12, brings all of the 2020 cars, complete in official liveries and with official driver helmets. It also brings along the new Circuit Zandvoort which would have debuted in May before chaos unfolded worldwide. Nonetheless, F1 Mobile Racing players will be able to immerse themselves in the 2020 season as it would have happened.
The update won’t contain Vietnam’s Hanoi Circuit, though you won’t have long to wait. This will arrive at the end of the month, in a further update which will feature a in-game street circuit event.
In addition, F1 Mobile Racing will celebrate this year’s 70th season of the sport with a special event. The in-game 70th Anniversary Championship will see players running grands prix at five of the seven tracks from the first championship back in 1950. These events will award special, in-game 70th Anniversary prizes.
Vincent Meulle, executive producer at Codemasters commented:
“We know our players will be excited by the first major 2020 update of the year and there is still a lot more to come. We are excited to launch Circuit Zandvoort, and later in the month Hanoi Circuit, but we don’t stop there and have big surprises and features coming later in the season.
“Our players want the most authentic experience possible on their mobile devices and with the new 2020 season update F1 Mobile Racing continues to deliver the action and excitement they crave.”
