As GTPlanet user amar212 has had more time to explore his early PAL copy of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, he has continued updating his very informative post with new information and more impressions about the game. He’s even included a simple guide, carefully detailing the best “path” through the game so you can get your hands on superstars such as the F40, Ford GT-LM, and of course the F2007 as quickly as possible. In his latest update, however, a thoughtful Amar emphasizes two key points which I believe will set this particular game apart from others in the series: earning money and car tuning. With lower prize values in a limited selection of race events, higher powered vehicles are harder to come by, and the “Quick Tune Screen” will play an important role for advanced players. To quote Amar:
“After two days, I find QTS most important thing for whole new Prologue, more important than F2007. Reason is simple – QTS actually allows all advanced players to drive events they couldn’t beat on Professional physics “before QTS” – on Professional physics (once they finish A class, and QTS become available of course). I know there are many drivers who don’t like the fact that some events just can’t be finished on Pro setting (myself included), so thisway they’ll have their respectful satisfaction.
Also, with QTS you can literally adjust everything on your car up to “big” game standards, thus making all Prologue extremely serious when compared to JP release. It makes many cars actually drivable on S and N compound on Pro setting (Corvette or Viper for example), so it opens a whole new universe for online racing one day – for those who are looking challenges of course, not for those who are using R3 tires and mourn about physics being forgiving.”
Finally, take a look at Amar’s latest shots of the Ferrari F40 and carbon-fiber Fort GT-LM, all of which can be seen in his post and right here in our GT5 Prologue gallery. Amazing!
