The past year has been a wild ride for Fanatec, and now things just got even more interesting.
After launching an all-new website, users were quick to notice that prices have been raised significantly for customers shopping in the United States.
Although the company has not released an official list of price changes, it’s clear that nearly all of its products have been affected, including the officially-licensed Gran Turismo bundles:
- Gran Turismo DD Pro (5Nm)
- $749.99 -> $949.99 USD
- 27% increase of $200
- Gran Turismo DD Pro (8Nm)
- $849.99 -> $1,129.98 USD
- 33% increase of $280
- Gran Turismo DD Extreme
- $1,399.99 -> $1,699.99 USD
- 21% increase of $300
The percentage increases appear to be roughly consistent with other products in the company’s lineup, although some items — such as the CSL Pedals — have gone up by as much as 50%.
Prices in other regions are unaffected, making it obvious the increases are a result of the Trump administration’s new tariffs on imported goods coming into the United States.
Although Fanatec is now owned by U.S.-based Corsair, Fanatec’s equipment is manufactured in China and has been subject to a 20% tariff since March. However, due to the rapidly evolving nature of the trade war between the U.S. and China, the tariff is now expected to increase to 104% as of April 9.
It is unlikely that Corsair and Fanatec were able to factor in the latest tariff rates into these latest prices, nor do we know how the tariff situation will continue to change. Otherwise, we may be set for more extreme price volatility in the coming days and weeks. We’ll keep an eye on it.
