Fanatec has taken the wraps off its latest steering wheel. The CSL Elite P1 is the Xbox equivalent of its first officially-licensed PS4 wheel.
We reviewed the CSL Elite PS4 earlier this summer and loved it. Of particular note was the rim: it was a world removed from the P1 rim on the original CSL Elite. The 11.8″ Alcantara-wrapped rim was light and felt good in our hands. Wisely, Fanatec is bringing that experience wholesale to the Xbox side of things.
The P1 swaps out the blue stitching of the PS4 item with red. Naturally, it also features an Xbox button in place of the PS one, and the accompanying ABXY set.
Outside of those changes, the P1 offers the same package as the existing Elite PS4 wheel. That means brushed aluminium spokes, the integrated display/RevStripe, and the improved Snapdome shifters. The interchangeable buttons also make a return, allowing users to customize the face buttons of the wheel.
As with many of Fanatec’s current wheels, connecting the Elite P1 to any of its modern bases (CSW V2/V2.5 or CSL Elite) makes the entire setup Xbox-compatible.
The CSL Elite P1 is currently up for pre-order on the official site, with a targeted release date of September. We’ll have our review up in a few days: stay tuned for more details!
