If the Ferrari FXX-K wasn’t wild enough for you, you’re in luck. There is now an even more extreme version dubbed the FXX-K Evo.
Right away the first thing you notice is an aero package that makes the car look incredibly futuristic. Everywhere you look you see canards, spoilers, wings, vents, and splitters to provide maximum downforce.
That max stat is pretty impressive too. At just 124mph the car generates 1,411lb of downforce — 200 more pounds than the “standard” FXX-K. Once it reaches its top speed of 217mph, the downforce increase to 1,830lb. That’s just slightly more than the Viper ACR, which is already a ‘Ring-threatening downforce monster.
Stacked against the comparatively pedestrian LaFerrari, the FXX-K gets a massive 75% boost in downforce.
The engine remains the same as the standard FXX-K. That’s not a bad thing though. The 848hp V12 gets a boost from a 187hp electric motor. Adding this all together and the FXX-K develops a whopping 1,035hp and 730lbft of torque.
With all that extreme power, the FXX-K Evo should rocket to 60mph in around 2.7 seconds.
In addition to the downforce changes, the suspension gets an upgrade as well. It’s been calibrated to handle the extra downforce and make sure the car handles extremely well around any track it encounters.
Speaking of tracks, the FXX-K Evo is eligible for the Ferrari XX Programme during the 2018/2019 season. This racing series features nine tracks in which lucky owners can go race other XX owners. Tracks in the series include Silverstone, Monza, Spa, and Imola.
For owners of the FXX-K who want the Evo package, they’re in luck. Current owners can ship their vehicles to Ferrari and the company will retrofit them with all the Evo upgrades. It obviously won’t be cheap, but if you can afford the $3 million price tag of the FXX-K, chances are you won’t bat an eye at the conversion cost.
If you happen to not own an FXX-K, Ferrari will happily sell you an Evo. Although we assume like most special Ferrari cars, potential buyers will need to meet stringent requirements.
There’s been no word on production numbers for the FXX-K Evo. If the standard model is anything to go by 40 will be the upper limit.
Since the chance for us to get a go in one of these is somewhere between slim and none, we are going to hold out hope that the FXX-K Evo ends up in a sim racer or three.
