With just six places left in the Grand Final, the 2022 Ferrari Velas Esports Championship reaches a crucial point this week with the two Regional Finals.
After six months of hot laps and four online qualifier events, in both Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione, the two regions are both down to their final 24 drivers.
Two Regional Qualifier events saw the best three drivers at each of eight circuits book their places for their respective Regional Finals, in Europe and in the new North America zone.
However, two more races for each region — at different circuits, and using the two different Ferrari 488 racing models available — will slash that to just three apiece, with only the best trio from each area heading over to Italy for the Grand Final this October.
The European section will be up first, with the broadcast starting at 1845UTC on Tuesday September 13, followed by the North America region at 2145EDT on Wednesday September 14 (0145UTC on September 15).
Alongside the racing action, we’re going to see a number of special guests on the broadcast. That will include Scuderia Ferrari F1 drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, Ferrari factory GT3 driver Nicklas Nielsen, FDA driver Laura Camps Torras, and Aristotelis Vasilakos of Kunos Simulazioni.
Registered viewers will be entered into a prize draw to win Ferrari-themed prizes during the streams, with a Scuderia Ferrari replica hoodie and hat, and Ferrari-branded t-shirt up for grabs.
However the overall winner of the Ferrari Velas Esports Series will take a money-can’t-buy prize of a seat on the Ferrari factory esports team for the 2023 campaign as it seeks to recapture the Intercontinental GT Challenge title.
