The official Gran Turismo social media accounts have teased a surprise new Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo car which is set to be revealed at the World Finals in Monaco this coming weekend.
Appearing on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, the teaser consists of a 15-second clip which conveys only two really concrete pieces of information: it’s a Ferrari, and it’s a Vision Gran Turismo car. We don’t even know the car’s name at this point.
Aside from that, the rather arty video appears to show a magnetic liquid metal forming some vague car shapes out of a puddle, like a T-1000 Terminator. You’d need to slow the video right down to even see those, with what looks like a Le Mans Prototype style rear quarter and wing in one moment, and possibly a rear wheel, side-on, for the next.
The clearest look at the car comes right at the very end, with two thin LED headlights flanking what looks like a silver embossed Prancing Horse logo.
That all gives a general impression of a car not too dissimilar to the company’s recently unveiled 2023 World Endurance Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans entry, the 499P — though we’d not expect a Vision GT-branded car to be identical to an existing race car.
Recent trends in Vision GT cars suggest that it could be a petrol-electric hybrid, like the 499P, or fully electric, though we’re going to have to wait until the weekend to find out more.
Ferrari and Gran Turismo are scheduled to unveil the vehicle on Sunday November 27, during the World Final Nations Cup live stream from Monaco. Watch this space for more!
