The Forza team has posted an early teaser for the upcoming Monthly and Let’s Go livestreams, revealing that the 1,400hp all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E will be sliding its way onto the streets of Mexico next month.
Although Monthly/Let’s Go streams have traditionally taken place on Mondays, they’ll be broadcast on Thursday March 24 this time round. That means that we’ll get a peek at the Series 6 content for FH5 with just about a full week left of the current Series.
Thus far we’ve seen at least eight new cars added to each series, with four coming to all players through Playlist activity and a further four dropping at one a week on Car Pass. If Series 6 continues this pattern, we can expect another eight to appear in Thursday’s stream. For the most part they’re all under wraps still, but the Mach-E 1400’s appearance as the stream’s cover car reveals that it will be involved.
Built as a one-off prototype and making its debut in September 2020, the Mach-E 1400 was a demonstration of how Ford’s new electric SUV could be turned into a high performance machine, two months before the regular car became available to the public.
The car was co-developed by Ford Performance and Vaughn Gittin Jr’s RTR, which also helped develop a number of other potent Fords you’ll find in FH5 — including Ken Block’s Hoonicorn.
It packs some seven electric motors, with three on the front axle and four on the rear, bumping power up from 480hp on the Mach-E GT to some 1,400hp in total. The array of motors means it’s capable of front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive, so it can be configured for just about any kind of driving you can imagine.
Forza Horizon 5 will mark a series debut for the Mach-E 1400, and we’ll get to see it first in the Horizon Monthly show at 1600 UTC, and the FH5 Let’s Go Series 6 stream at 1700 UTC, on Thursday March 24.
