    Real enthusiasts are able to appreciate all forms of racing. I really had to force feed myself stock car racing and drag racing but I am a less ignorant person for it. I think NASCAR is a positive addition, because I would never play a standalone NASCAR game anyway, so its great that I will be able to get a taste of that in this game. I also agree about adding more F1 cars…they don’t need to include specific cars, they can stay generic, but I have been wanting different specs, obviously the modern V8 and V10’s but also older configurations like turbos or even those super old grand prix cars that look like twinkies on wheels.

    Just because they included NASCAR, the amount of comments saying GT is losing the plot…WTF?

    I welcome different areas of racing, hopefully they add a few more F1 cars and official tracks, making GT5 the complete racer.

    Yo to all the fools on this page… So they added NASCAR so what…. Since day one. The motto is the real driving sim… So they are adding another form of racing. That’s it. That’s great to see… You don’t have to like NASCAR to realize they are trying add every type of racing to the game. Big ups to them

    Being a fan of all forms of racing I have to say that it is awesome that NASCAR is in the game. It’s about time that EA doesn’t have the rights, they ruined NASCAR games. It would be awesome to have F1 in the game, Sony did have the rights to F1 but now it’s in the hands of Codemasters. You NASCAR haters just need to STFU because your voice isn’t going to be heard by PD anyway. As I said before I like all forms of racing, I have been to 3 NASCAR races and they are amazing, you can actually see people pass each other every lap. I would love to go to an F1 race, mostly to compare it to a NASCAR race and I like the different culture. Forza 3 is to have more than 400 cars, wooo. GT4 had more than 600 and GTpsp will have more than 800. I have Forza 2 and I love it, but I do pity the car selection, having GT4 as well, I just wish that I could drive my Tommy Kaira ZZII or even a RUF CTR Yellowbird, but maybe in Forza 3. I have both the PS3 and 360 and hope that both games are good, but ultimately hope that the NASCAR in GT5 is realistic.

    The Trailer looks great! I think it speaks for itself, as the more you watch it the more details you see. Gran Turismo Mobile will be probably the bigest thing to ever hit a portable gaming device lol! :D

    Tires squealing like pigs on ice and engines that sound like vacuum cleaners have been a scourge. NASCAR is about the fans first, not the cars first. Without fans, racing would suck. NASCAR affords fans the ability to view the whole race, not just a turn, maybe 2. You don’t like door to door racing at 200MPH (not kph) that NASCAR gives? Stay out of my way. In one NASCAR race, there could be more lead changes than there are in an entire F1 season.

    Just like everything else PD touches, NASCAR will finally get the treatment it deserves! “Jack-of-all-trades”, you didn’t complain about the F1 cars from GT3 and GT5p, did you? Go ahead and play FM3 (a game that doesn’t even have as much content as the portable version of GT5).

    The King of Racers is putting the court jester back in his place. You might like sizzle, but I like steak.

    Seeing Nascar in a sim Ive played, and supported since day one broke my heart. As far as user base expansion goes NASCARS a great thing. As far as racing goes its the lowest from there is. While im not a big fan of drifting/ autocross my self. I can at least see the artistry, and incredible sense of car control involved.

    But NASCAR inspires me to take a crap more than anything. Such a waste of space.

    I guess ill reserve my judgment until the final vehicle list for GT5 is released. Pray that they add a few more mid 8 Ferrari’s, and some proper Porsche’s. And FFS get rid of that damn tire screeching. I want to hear tires grip pavement, not squeal like they have none.

    The Audi and the Mazda LeMans cars are at the Top gear test track. Also IMHO it looks too good to be ingame (just slow the HD video down to 25% where the Subaru jumps and gets damaged. So concept might just mean “How we want it to look”. Just looks too freakin’ real. The ‘ring really sucks though, looks like something out of GT4.

    Oh dear…have we just seen the GT franchise finally lose the plot? WRC, NASCAR…WTF? We have those covered elsewhere… It looks great, but now a “Codeamsters” style “Jack-of-all-trades” racer, forget it.

    An Xbox 360 and Forza 3 are looking more and more tempting now.

    I couldn’t care less about NASCAR, I’m just satisfied that the cat is FINALLY out of the bag. ;) Hopefully we’ll learn more soon. A release date would be nice, for sure!

    Copying the video to my PS3 to view in it’s 50″ 720p 5.1 splendor!!! Meanwhile, the M$ presser is starting over on G4. Forza 3 doesn’t have a prayer! (against the GT-PSP)

    I’ve just had a thought;

    What if the damage is only included in the WRC mode? Since there is only one car to render at a time, they may be able to implement very realistic damage that might not be possible with lots of cars on the track at once.

    I hope it’s not the case but it’s just a thought.

    NASCAR…

    Well prepare for the GT5 user base to be inundated with the lowest forms of life ever to walk this plant, god help you all. And still no solid release date.. =P

    While its terrible to know the driving sim I once knew and loved is wasting space to support such garbage. I can take solace in the fact that this will remove some of said trash from the Forza user base.

    Only new street car I saw was the SLR. Really hoping to see Porsche and Lamborghini make it in. The video does look good and I love LeMans cars so I can’t wait.

    Simply amazing, Watched the whole conference the news of the new PSP Go releasing alongside GT Mobile will be immense and i’ll be definately purchasing it on release day hoping they will do a bundled version. When the GT5 Trailer hit I had goosebumps to the max it looks simply brilliant and puts Forza 3 to the side line. The racing game to include alot of different Racing Sports Genres is very exciting and i’m very pleased to welcome all Sports regardless. People cant complain about the amount of involement from Nascar. Remember PD are involved not EA! There wont be any need for any diffrent Racing Titles if Kaz pulls off the multiple genre Racing Gaming Nationwide. Wish the Forums would get back on soon! Cant beleive the amount of traffic!

    I have to agree with the yaysayers about NASCAR. Not my cup of coffee, but I’ll race it anyway, and it will move sales of both the game and PS3s, as well as wheel controllers. Now, to watch that video again till I pass out…

    Gorgeous trailer. There is nothing wrong with including NASCAR. I don’t like it myself, but if it is to be an all inclusive driving/racing/car game then NASCAR belongs.

    So, I will be getting a GT for my PSP with more content than GT4 had and definitely GT5 at some point. I am very, very happy.

    To comment on the video itself: what a great one it was! The intro was amazing, I just love that “sophisticated metro-style” intro and almost shed a tear of joy when that train moving revealed the NSX.

    And to get rally and NASCAR into the game, how great! Not really a fan of either but I’ll definitely try…

    Can’t wait for this game to be released. I am addicted to a game I haven’t even played… well played Polyphony Digital… well played.

    Watched the whole Sony press conference hoping to see a glimpse of GT5. Ran out of hope after the GT Mobile trailer was played and Yamauchi left the stage, but then suddenly John uttered the words “Gran Turismo 5” and I maximized my browser window to feast on the trailer. John must have gotten orders to not reveal anything but the trailer at all, because he just went on to present God of War… too bad.

    Let’s hope we can get a release date soon :)

    It’ll be interesting to see if a little fender bender will change people’s opinions of this game. And by golly, Amar was right. We’re getting a track creator on PS3!! ;D

    It’s a shame there’s no date mentioned, but it can’t be too far off. 10 months or less? For this? I think I’ll live. And honestly, I’m even less interested in Forza 2 II now.

    I’d assume that more race cars means more cars you can damage? I believe their only allowed to show damage on race cars, thus the inclusion of WRC and Nascar licenses?

    Man some of you guys shouldn’t be hating on NASCAR. Personally I’m not a fan either but hey it just brings more people to the game. Heck even I’d do a couple of races in it. What do you think the Daytona track is for? Sorry I have to say it but it sounds childish of you guys. Anywho, on topic, damage is looking good. Looks like they modeled the suspension too.

    What the hell, if GT5 is still in a concept phase than its gonna take some more years before we gonna see it. Concept normaly refers to: “This is how we would like it to be, but we haven’t started in it yet”
