First Look at Assetto Corsa’s PS4 & Xbox One User Interface

As announced earlier last month, Assetto Corsa will be making the transition to the current generation consoles in 2016 and Inside Sim Racing’s Darin Gangi brings us the first look of the progress being made with the new user interface coming to consoles and PC.

Those familiar with the game in its current state will immediately notice the cleaner look and the absence of the web-style launcher being a separate task from the game itself – the improved user interface will now transition directly into gameplay from the menu and vice-versa. We also get a look at the upcoming Toyota GT-86 from the Bonus Pack DLC coming later this month, as well as the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus 003 which will also be coming to the game at a later as-yet-unconfirmed date.

Stay tuned to our Assetto Corsa forum and GTPlanet for more.

I believe that one day, we, the PS4 users, will have 3 absolutely amazing racing titles to splash our talents in dozens of tracks around the virtual world. PCars, AC and GT? What else do we want? A life? Yeah, right!

Project CARS has taught me not to get my hopes up. Not getting on board the hype train for this one.

If you’re looking for an impressive looking UI and other details that are insignificant to gameplay, you probaby won’t find it in AC. They have a very small staff, many of them wearing multiple hats. GT has more modelers alone than AC has staff in total by a factor of 2 at last count although I understand there will be a whole team brought in to help with the console version. They’ll do some basic UI, but the nuts and bolts of this game will be the driving experience and the second to none FFB.

AC has developed a tremendously loyal following on pc due to it’s tremendous FFB, physics and every track being laser scanned, including the definitive laser scanned version of the Nurburgring. IMO it’s worth the purchase price just for the Nurburgring and the car lineup, but it also includes some tracks that have never appeared in the GT series like Magione, Mugello, Vallelunga, Monza Historic, Zandvoort and the Trento Bondone Hill Climb. The principles including Stefano, Marco, Aristotelis and Simone are well known in the sim racing community as super nice guys that are extremely passionate about the game and sim racing in general.

I totally agree and I am well aware that they far less staffed than PD(which makes it more amazing how great the game play is for AC.) I just that I am happy that they are working on developing the UI further.

Glad to hear that they will be updating the user interface on PC when the PS4 and XB1 versions come out. Great game but the navigation could be better than it currently is.

this is what console gamer can look forward to, it will be truly first real sim on this gen consoles.. GT is still in development (I hope for 2016, 2017 at its worst), and after this much time I hope most of us realized that Project cars is just a very fun game.. :) no hard feelings!
anyway assetto corsa on PC was way too empty, hope they will create some meaning to gameplay, championships and more in depth mechanical tuning is welcome!

I’m confused by this comment. You seem confident that Assetto Corsa will be king of racers on console and that pCARS is just a temporary distraction. But that confidence is supported by lack of gameplay meaning, lack of championships, and lack of tuning. ???

My loyalty is always up for sale to the best game. If it’s AC, great.

There’s no lack of tuning in AC, if something is tunable on the real car, it’s tunable in the game, like most sims. There are no vehicle upgrades or parts to purchase though. No turbos, no racing suspensions, etc. Street cars come with 2 or 3 grades of tire, historic cars always come with historic tire options etc. It’s a racing sim, you get all the content at the beginning of the game and race.

Wow this is even worse than project cars UI, have they taken all their inspiration from arcade racers from the amusements?

That looks pretty decent visuals are more akin to Forza than Project Cars, that UI interface reminds me of World Driver on N64, lol. I wonder what is the max grid size for this game, another racer to add to my console collection but I’ll be flat out of time to play anything for the next couple of years solid because I’m going to be fast tracking my degree in accounting. School all year round for the next couple of years to get it done. My hobby will be at a standstill for a while, :(. Oh well making money will fuel my hobby later on in a big way, multiple 4K TV’s for the house. Hopefully they start making 4K TV’s that don’t automatically upscale to 4K, why do they do that?
