Shown earlier today, Kunos has pulled the cover off one of the stars in the upcoming Dream Pack 3, the Ford Escort RS 1600. Born from a partnership between Ford and Lotus in the late 60’s, the Escort was powered by a 1.6L Cosworth BDA Inline-4 which drove it to a number of rally and GT race victories.

As revealed last week, Dream Pack 3 will include “the best circuit in the world”, Brands Hatch as well as the following eight cars:

  • Abarth 500 Assetto Corse
  • Ford Escort RS 1600
  • Lamborghini Huracàn SuperTrofeo
  • McLaren 650 GT3
  • Mercedes AMG GT3
  • Lotus 25
  • Lotus 72
  • Lamborghini Gallardo SuperLeggera

Kunos continues to look forward and is already working on content for 2016, revealing on their official Facebook page that work is already underway in bringing the 2016 Audi Sport TT Cup to the game. With this announcement and the assurance that the game’s core physics won’t be watered down when it comes to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year, the future looks promising for Assetto Corsa.

Dream Pack 3 will be available on Steam next week Tuesday, December 15th but in the meantime stay tuned to GTPlanet for more Assetto Corsa news, and stop by our Assetto Corsa sub-forum for more discussion and in-depth analysis.

I can’t wait to hear test results about the Escort, meaning the difference between A.Corsa’s and Project Cars’ handling of the car.

if its like any of the other cars that are in both games then similar ffb, pcars having better sounds, AC having better physics(as in grip levels, suspension etc etc) and both models will look fantastic anyways. conclusion can’t go wrong with either. im just hoping its a good rival for the alfa romeo gta.

I love pCars but I have no doubt that AC’s version will be much better. The Escort in pCars is one of the downsides of pCars. There are certain cars in pCars that just don’t feel right and that’s one of the biggest offenders. It’s a very light car yet feels and drives like a tank. AC definitely has the same issue but not as bad. Like all the Lotus Elise’s and especially the 2- eleven feel and drive way heavier than they should.

In other sims, you can really feel the difference in weight between cars, as you should but it’s something pCars and AC has problems with.

Try the regular street tires on the Elises and the 2 Eleven, the Semi-slicks are way too grippy for those light cars.

semi slicks take all the fun away especially for the heavier cars but it does change the light ones a fair bit as well.

I’ve been testing several street cars back to back with semi’s and street tires in preparation for Assetto Corsa Time Attack Challenge 3.0 and the difference is akin to driving a completely different car. Last night I was in the roadster version of the Elise at Mills Motor sport Park and it was just sublime on the street tire. So easy to spin up the tears and to initiate some oversteer just using a bit of weight shift on entry.
