Skin for the "debut" of the Porsche 917, at Spa Francorchamps, for the 1000km race on the 11th of May, 1969. It was round six of the International Championship for Makes.
The #30T 917 was fast out of the box, and Jo Siffert banged in a 3:41.9 qualifying lap, to put it on pole. And then Siffert and Redman wisely declined to drive 1000km, at racing speed, in the thing. Numbered #31 it was raced by Gerhard Mitter and Udo Schütz, but did not finish the race.
Not the "debut" Porsche was hoping for.
