This is an oldschool racetrack, inspired by the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Südschleife. The track is narrow (8 meters) and winding but very fast due to the large angle of the corners.
To get a realistic layout and more control over elevation, the track was designed with the aid of the terrain contour map. I first opened the contour map in Adobe Illustrator and drew the course. Then I used the grid as a reference to draw the same course in the app. The image below is a montage where the finished course have been placed over the contour map (green = low, white = high).
To make the straights more vivid I divided them into smaller sections and rotated each anchor just a little bit. The result is a more bumpy track that appears to have aged.
Kerbs have been placed as visual aids to the driver, to provide a reference for braking and to help spotting the apexes.
