Looks good but why would you display it with cargo it can't carry comfortably?

Also they mentioned A/C twice in the standards list.

eh...I saw this on TV a while ago...I think it was Autorotica or something? Anyways I will try and find the Official Press release and some of the extremely ridiclous high res pictures. :D
BTW I kinda like this.....well...its not really that bad and I heard the power was good too?

Old news. :P (Saw it at the L.A. Auto Show two weeks ago.)

I'm a bit concerned that they're only offering a V6, since full-size truck buyers like torquey V8s. We'll see how that works out though.

I really liked the storage thing underneath the bed (it also holds the spare tire)… you could even dump ice into it for a tailgate party. :D

Interior was nothing to write home about; it felt like a cross between an Element's interior and a Pilot's. And boy, it was a climb to get in (no running boards! :scared:). The rear seats are kinda neat, because they fold up in a way that leaves a completely flat area. You have to be about twenty feet tall to put something in the bed by its side.

Indeed it needs more Tourque for sure unless Honda has a specail suprise for us! :D

Also would be nice if it wasn't a unibody. This is going to have all the success of the Subaru Baja.

Why? People seem to love unibody SUVs, so it seems logical that many would like a unibody truck. People who actually need a truck to pull a trailer will probably shy away from this, but a lot of people buy trucks just so they can throw dirty junk in the back, and don't need to do any heavy-duty hauling or towing. And people love the Honda name (unlike Subaru, which has a fairly concentrated base of loyalists).

People love unibody SUVs as a replacement for the out-of-vouge unibody minivan. The truck crowd is far too loyal to buy a Honda truck, especially one with a transverse V6, the SUV crowd would rather be in a Pilot where their groceries don't bow away in the breeze.

it might be old news, but when i went to MSN.COM today it was on the front page, and it was the first time i saw it, i also looked around and didnt see any posts about it.

I'm not sure about this truck. Weak (for a truck) V6, smaller than average box, unibody construction... I'm sure it's got some good attributes. I just haven't seen them yet.
To be honest, I think Honda should stay away from trucks. As they stand, (correct me if I'm wrong) they are completely unequipped to build a full size truck. No V8, No vehicles with a proper frame. The V8 being the bigger of the 2 main problems.

I think this thing will do great for them. I probably would get one if I were getting a truck. I obviously haven't driven it, but I've driven basically every other Honda out there, and love the fit, finish and feel they all have. And, like someone said, if you don't need huge hauling and towing capability, this is fine. I don't need any of that. But, if I had something like this that could fit 4 people or so, and a little crap in the bed, thats fine with me. I mean, if I have something huge to tow or haul, the fiance's Denali will be fine for that since it will tow something like 8000lbs.

And, since we know many people buy cars and SUVs for the image, not necessarily the usage, this will probably sell very well. Think how many people have huge SUVs and trucks just because they're popular. This will be the same. The Honda name says a lot for a vehicle, and then you add a little bed on it for some decent usage, it will be a good seller. I think they know they aren't going to be going after the F250 and Silverado HDs for a share of the work truck market. But, give someone a nice Honda vehicle with some great capabilities and uses, and it will sell. Honestly, if I were in the market for a truck, this would probably be tops on my list. I predict this doing very well.

I think it reeks of Chevrolet's Avalanche...a truck which I would much rather have!

Also saw at a Auto Show styling is okay.Better than the Element but not by much. Coming as a crew cab makes it much more practicle. However even compared to the Tundra and Titan is weak but probably a few hurdred pounds lighter.

Speaking of the Avalanche, I'm going to go nuts if every truck maker ends up adopting the current design paradigm of going for ridiculously deep beds. Imagine if the hatch opening on a station wagon was in the roof instead of the back side… that's what it's like to [try to] load something in these twenty-foot high beds. And as an aside, truck makers these days don't know how to make decent-looking flying buttresses.

Dodge have the Ram srt10.

Isn't that a performance truck? Not a racing truck?

Andways come to think of it.... Is Honda gonna follow Toyotas footsteps into NASCAR in the truck series? If so I guess a Type-R wouldn't so weird after all~ :)

Ya the lady at the NAIAS told me the unibody construction makes it haul as much as a Ford F-250 and it can pull 20,000 lbs. There is no way I would put a quarter of a ton in a unibody, can you say major bendage? Also the motor is going to suck for towing.

But hey I don't know what to think untill I see it layed out on 20's.

Is this Honda 'Ridgeline" in production?
I saw 3 of them (along with about 5 other similar vehicles from differant companys) all gathered in a empty parking lot today.

You know, a unibody truck can be done. Done well, even.

Jeep Comanches had a payload rating of 1475lbs and a tow rating of 5000lbs, which was not only more than an S-10, Sonoma and Ranger: it was more than an F-150 too.

If anything, the worst part of the Ridgeline is the drivetrain layout. Front-biased AWD is crapola. Loading down the bed with cargo and hooking it to a trailer will do a good job of shifting weight off the drivewheels.

In any case this "truck" is designed for yuppies and Honda owners, not for anyone else. Especially anyone looking for a "work" truck.

Was this ridgeline designed by Ford, too? The name and the styling of it sound and look inherently American.

This is the only way that that truck would even look close to good.

The body looks way too bulky. Ugly. But it will probably sell just because it's a Honda. But that no V8 option issue might be a problem.
