Digital Camera - Usable as USB Drive?

I have an Olympus as well (C-740 ultra zoom) My question is what do you do to get it to work. What mode, when do you plug it in, how much space is needed and whatever info you can give is apprieciated đź‘Ť đź‘Ť

I have an olympus C-720 ultra zoom. I just plug it in on playback mode and it works fine. Takes kind of a long time to transfer the pics though, I thougt it froze the first time I did it.

I used my Nikon Coolpix 3100 today and it worked perfectly. GT4 created a "GT4" folder and put the pics there. But you cannot view the files on the card using the camera.

I have the same camera and it didnt work. Is there a certian setting it has to be on?

Hello -- I was reading through this thread sometime ago and finally got around to trying the camera > PS2 combination. I used my Nikon D70 + usb cable to hook into the playstation. The only modification I had to do prior to hooking up the camera to the PS2 was changing the filemode setting on my camera from PTP (a mac standard) to M :: mass storage ( meant for PC's). This worked flawlessly. As mentioned in prior posts, GT4 creates a folder "GT4" on the root of the media card and depending on your settings in GT4 the game will save these JPEG files with a quality of "Fine."

Since the software differs from camera to camera I can't really pinpoint a solution to most of the problems. But I thought i'd throw in my two cents on the situation.

I also put my three wimpy images online :: found here

I've just used the Creative MuVo MP3 player. works perfectly, created a foler GT4 with photos - each in HDTV resolution - 1280x960. NICE ;-)

I also saw the PTP and Mass Storage thing on my camera. When I go to switch it, it doesnt do a thing but beep at me. I dont kno if it works or not. ANyone with a Nikon Coolpic that made it work how exactly did you do it?

someone said some type of Ipod works, but not well

just tried my dads olympus D-490 2.1 megapixel on a sandisk USB device.. no luck, just took pics with the camera :P didnt come out well but owell lol

Coolpix 4100 works too...

The folder was made for me too. đź‘Ť

I hate to quote myself, but in a PM I remembered something that might make it possible for my Nikon to work with the game... :ouch:

I'm using a 512mb SanDisk SD card, not the internal memery, that might be why it works...

Smity, Ive got a C-700 and it worked great. Just plug it in and x-fer from the PS2. Doesnt matter if its on playback or picture taking mode. Took all of 12-18 seconds for 5 phots to x-fer.

Well here's hoping my Kodak C3700 camera works, anyone have a Kodak of similar model that they can try with the game?
I used to tried with my Kodak Easyshare CX7330 and it doesn't work.

i saw this thread and decided to give my digi cam a shot (Samsung Digimax 401) and it works! im going to keep it next to my ps2 at all times!! :) :sly:

It depends on what your computer reads your camera as! if it reads it as an storage device it'll work if not it wont.(some cameras need special software these ones don't work eg. Kodak)

I have a Nikon Coolpix 5200, and it saves Photomode pictures 15 seconds faster than my Sandisk Cruzer Mini 256MB. It might not seem like a big difference, but when you save 10 pictures, you save two and a half minutes of your life.
