Help w/ VW Golf V GTI '05

I am having some problems tuning this car. I would like for it to be fully modded when all is said and done but if it will not work with all the mods it would be ok too. Its pretty bumpy stock and cant seem to get rid of it. Can anyone help me?

I can't wait to get rid of it. I think this has been very bad ride for the money, but has a lot of power!

Anyways, I could use some help with this car too.

Sorry, I was thinking of the HPI Golf , that's the one I need.

The Golf V GTI was the first car I bought and I love this baby... I modded the car to Semi-Racing so right now my GTI have something around 324hp!
Here is my tuning:
- Semi-Racing Exhaust
- Brake and Brake controller (set 10 fwd and 6 back)
- The all engine work deal without NOS!!!!!!!
- Semi-Racing Suspension, keep the card as low as possible, lower the spring rate but not too much, Shock Bound set to 7 for both fwd and back and chamber angle to 1.5 fwd and 1.2 back
- Turbo update to level 2 only with a SR intercooler
- Trasmission in full with SR plate and flywheel and 1.5 slips
- Normal Hard tyre and level 2 body work
- Then I put some weight in the back (set to 5) and change the setting of the TSM to 7 (for more grip... this car is very light in the back!)

Thank you afetta your set-up works good. I also found this one (on another fourm

cred. to dageorge).

"Fully modified except for Stage II Turbo and no roll cage...343 horsepower, 85 shot of nitrous, and S3 tires

F/R
Spring 9.0/12.3
Height 112/115
Bound 2/4
Rebound 8/9
Camber 1.5/1.0
Toe 0/0
Stab. 6/7
Brake Balance 5/14

Transmission auto setting 15 (I like how lively the engine performs at this number but if for some reason you need wider ratios I also had fun with auto setting 20)

No ASM, TCS=1

LSD---
Initial 43
Accel. 50
Decel. 25"

I never thought of putting weight on the back. I will go try it now Thanks.

Did a quick search in the tuning forum and only this and one other golf thead came up, so I though't I'd post in here.

I just bought the '05 Golf GTi the other day and discovered that 4th & 5th gears are rather close. Almost the same, in fact. This is no good if you want to have a stock or mildy modified Golf, which is what I was after, so I set about finding the correct gear ratios. Needless to say the official VW websites were useless!

I managed to track down the correct gear ratios for the manual version (I'm guessing the semi-auto is the same) and here's what they should be. Obviously you will have to purchase the Full Custom gearbox!

6 Speed Manual

1st Gear Ratio 3.36:1
2nd Gear Ratio 2.09:1
3rd Gear Ratio 1.47:1
4th Gear Ratio 1.10:1
5th Gear Ratio 0.87:1
6th Gear Ratio 0.73:1
Final Drive 3.94:1

Before you change any of the gears set the Auto setting to 17 or 18, otherwise you won't be able to stretch the gears out.

One other thing I discovered was that the M6 has a single dry plate clutch, whereas the auto has a twin oil-bath clutch. Trivial, but possibly of interest if you're trying to modify your car in small, realistic steps. :)
