Howdie, first post.

Maybe it's not all that realistic, which I guess opposes the concept of the game, but I think it'd be a nice addition to be able to create a car. Of course you'd have to earn it, you could unlock different parts by winning, and put it towards the car.

I personaly wouldn't want that. I would much rather want the ability to build racecars out of stock cars, etc.

I don't know, I think that might be kind of fun, Blu-ray is going to create alot of room on games so there should be lots of options. I think that if PD did it correctly it could be an absolute blast. Plus think of kicking your friends butt ONLINE(GT5 better be) in a car you created, it would be fun.

How about badge engineering? I'd like to turn a GTO into a Chevrolet Chevelle SS, Oldsmobile 442, Buick GS, or Cadillac ETS-V. Maybe turn the Charger into a Roadrunner and the new Mustang into a Cougar.

That'd be a great idea, but very unlikely.
Id just build a massive wing on wheels. Aerodynamics to the max! :sly:

So, if the creators implement the car builder, they should implement a hardcore tuning system; if they implement this, they have to make every vehicle tuneable so, it will takes 6 years, and you will get a tuner-maker real driving simulator :P ;)

maybe a 'create a car' to build your own Formula car or Racing Prototype. It might be tough to get a good a good chassis and aero package together. Not to mention a good engine (buy from Honda, Toyota, Chevrolet, TVR, whoever), a good gearbox and put it all together. Aquire sponsors and a tire supplier (and obviously an engine supplier) and paint it too. Would be great fun for online racing, a full grid of custom LMPs, all similar in design but unique in their own ways.

But create your own road car? id say no.

Agreed.👍

Reminds me of supercar street challange...
That was my first thought but in that game, all my cars looked the same cause there was only 1 style I liked.

But it was a fun game.

I'll just stick with PD using realistic modifications.

I love the idea of car creation, but I also believe that it should be more of a system that lets you work on the available car selection. I would really like to take an M3 and turn it into a race cat with flared fenders and the works... Get some sponsors, tag it with my racing' team's colors and the works... I do believe that online, that would be the ultimate personalizer... Don't care much for street mods....

This would make the career mode so much deeper as you would not only build up you skills as well as your crew's, but you would also build and work on a car from the ground up.

As far as availabilityin the game, I also agree that there has to be limitations as to when one can do this. I totally see some B-specing the first few races 100X to build a retarded fast car only to race from wall to wall. Perhaps that option could only be available once you complete all licenses. At that point, I figure you have enough knowledge and control to be able to make that option worth while.

All in all, there are so many good suggestions on this forum as well as a few bad ones. Some are bound to make it into the game, some will not... Let's just hope we get most of the good ones and miss out on the skirt-kits/neon lights/sub-woofer upgrades that some NFS fans are asking for....nothing personnal, I'm just very protective of my favorite game series....

It's a decent idea, but it's something that should be only for Arcade mode. It should have some unrealistic, but fun things you can modify, like adding monster truck tires to a Ford Focus. Or have a 10' tall wing. Something like that, just letting your imaginations run wild.

EEEEEESSSSSHHHHH.... that doesn't sound like GT.......

i agree 100% as well! if the DBR9 isn't in GT5, id love to try and make it! but if we did have that feature we wolid need body kits to make them more areodynamic! and it should cost more to build one to make one as well!

An answer to the credits questions and what not, they made a code disc for GT4, so you know they will for GT5 and you will probably get a selection of things to check to get all the parts without paying for them or something like that. So if that feature is added, then you can save some money and go buy that code disc if you don't feel like earning the money through races.

Im sorry but i don't really like this idea.

On a game like ridge racer than perhaps it would be a good idea.

But i don't think it would work on GT.

i think this would be a cool idea, however, i dont think it would be fun to start from scratch, i think transplanting parts for other cars would be a decent idea.

I had an okay idea.. Sorry for bringing up an old post.

Maybe for each series you race you could have some sort of goal, like building your own car... It'd be like doing a regular race series in GT but at the end of every race you win you could select from parts, and the parts would depend on your finishing position. If you finish first you can pick any part you want from the list, second, your limited to fewer of the best parts, third, etc... And at the last race you can choose the body style.. And you get to see the car being built from the ground up after every race.

First race you'd choose chassis, second drivetrain, third suspension, fourth engine, fifth tranny, sixth body... Or something of the sort. For shorter series it could simply be a stock car that you're modifying on the way. For the higher up series, like LMP races, you could be working on your own personal LMP...

Just an idea.

You know, we could have one car type that could do such a thing: Late Model Stock Cars.

You Choose the Chassis, Drivetrain, and Body. You Paint it, and you're set.

Create a car?

That'll be decent!

I was thinking about this earlier this year and wanted to make a supercar that looked a bit like a Zonda F but looks different (especially the back half!) with different engine variants: one with 4.2 V8 Turbo, another with 6.0 V10 (and possibly a turbo on it as well) and an 8.0 V12 Turbo.

This CLEARLY won't happen in a GT game but what if you could do similar things, such as custom paint jobs where you paint certain panels of your car, etc. And I WANT racing modification to come back! (with the ability to chose from different styles in different colours such as a rally bodykit/GT bodykit/etc)

Just like in GT2...
