Yawn, it was either have my first cup of coffee listening to all the bad things going on in the world, the hype of the "big game", or take the mini out for a spin 👍

Nice choice of track :) I was wondering last night where the long straights would be, tossing out the obvious ones. This a kind of a new track for me 👍

T-1 26.659
T-2 49.436

I know they're slow :grumpy: still learning turn-in points and what lines I want to run.

Kent, thanks for the hint about camber :) I'm still working on freeing this car up  Still learning how to be a better mechanic, understanding the forces that are at play when I'm driving. An admitted rookie

thanks for the fun :) ... good break from WRS 👍

Had a chance to do a session... please note, HP was at 197

T-1 26.434
T-2 48.676

Auto 6, 2.745 final
Weight +10
Aids 0/5/0

4.7 4.0
95 110
2 2
2 2
5.4 1.8
1 1
2 2

Finally got the ass end of this thing loose :)
Still got some tweaks to play with. I know I left some out there :(
Started getting lost in the tranny again :grumpy: As I spent time looking for a 4th gear that did what I wanted to at the end of Sec. 1 and the early part of sec. 2

still working on lines and turn-ins, aren't I always ... LOL

After my first 6-lap session (yeah, I know) :
T1 = 26.666
T2 = 49.047

I'll start to play with the settings later :D

Couldn't miss this :D

Here's my setup as of now:
Spring Rate - 8.8/5.6
Ride Height - 125/110
Bound - 3/4
Rebound - 3/4
Camber - 3.5/1.2
Toe - -2/0
Stabs - 4/5
Aids - 0/0/0
Tranny - Auto 7
LSD 20/60/5 (probably too high but it stopped all wheelspin without TCS)

And my t-times:

T1 - 25.952 (lost about .15 from my best splits here)
T2 - 47.340 (maybe 46's possible, it would be tough though)

Might be my one and only try on this one, I havn't had much time for GT4 lately :(

after 18 laps or so:

setup: all defaults except for gear ratios which are at auto 7.

t1: 26.193
t2: 47.485

fun little car to drive.

Hey all.
I'm glad to see we've got some participants for this race (I was worried that I may have to kill the series due to lack of interest). :scared:

However, it looks like we can have some mini fun after all! 👍

I got to run a few laps in this race today after doing some yellowbird laps for the WRS.
First off,
What a change that was.
Going from a fully tuned yellowbird to the mini cup car was like going from the Gathers civic to the McLaren F1. :boggled:

I still managed to get a few clean laps in.
As for now my best lap is on a 47.9 T3.
I'm sure that will change as the week goes on and my settings are refined.

On that note... Sorry for the "hint" about camber.
Although I do encourage a change of camber, the picture used was not meant to suggest using crazy levels of camber. :guilty:
That car's camber was set like that for the picture and only for the picture.

That said...
There are some settings posted in here already and anyone struggling with this car may want to try out the settings posted by other members.

I'll have my settings posted later in the week after I've worked on them a bit.

Hope you all enjoy the race.
Good luck to all.

Until next time,
-

Time submitted
T-1 26.122
T-1 48.123

Still had some time out there to get. But I've got to spend some time in the Yellowbird :nervous:

After that 🤬 beast:banghead: , this thing was fun :)

Still working on getting a feel for how this car reacts to adjustments.
Thanks to those that have given some direction 👍

As I'm still learning how and why to adjust, mostly "blind squirrel mechanics":boggled: I've downloaded some very good "guides", now it's the translation from the "seat of the pants" to the wrench.

I'm posting my run in the RSR - replay supported racers - on Monday.

Thanks again Kent for a refuge 👍 a nice place to take a break from the WRS :)

After a dozen laps using Ben's settings, I shaved 1.5 sec off.
T1 = 26.407 (seen 26.1)
T2 = 48.071 (seen 47.8)

@jammyozzy : there's no registration as far as I know. There was an interest check where we posted to say we were interested, but since this is race #1 you can join right now, just jump in your Mini and race it : deadline is tomorrow afternoon, when race #2 will be posted

Results posted in reply #1 of this thread as well as reply #2 of the official Mini Cup Race and Results thread. 👍

I hope you all enjoyed the mini as much as I did. :dopey:

Very enjoyable after having chosen to use Ben's settings.
I'll upload my replay tonight.

Here my PAL replay. I think it's the first time ever I submit a faster time than Kent

Hard to say something when there are no T-times on the track.
I broke the second barrier I was aiming at initially, still using Ben's settings from last week.

That was a fun track for this "cup car." The hardest part was exiting the last turn tight enough that I didn't drift off into the grass.

Sorry it is taking so long to get the results up. :ouch:
Work and school have taken their tolls. :irked:

With participation as low as it is, I am going to have to say the mini cup is cancelled from here on out.
I will post the results to race 2 very soon.

After that if anyone wants to run the series- feel free.
I've got too much to do for now though so count me out. :(

I'll be back soon,
Till then,
-Kent

SOB... and here I was so disappointed that I missed the first round... so it goes. It was a good plan for a series, Kent. Maybe another time.

Mini Cup Race 2 Results (late, very, very late)

56.808 Soyfu

Next time someone wants to do a mini series I will race in it but for now I'm leaving the race organizing to the pros.

No problem Kent 👍
Wasn't too sure what happened to you:nervous: LOL
Glad to hear you are well :)
Dont' worry about the race thing 👍
It was fun

Cool. I might take the reigns on this one, after Ashley's FGT series is over (Oct 06). It might be cool to expand it to be a Mini vs Beetle cup car shootout. :)
