Regarding Small_Fryz's replay, I haven't watched it, but I was involved in an similar case with Jase86 (I can't remember the week, it was at Tsukuba in the Cusco Subaru).

Basically Jase had a similar incident with the AI, and the telling feature was a speed drop evident from the AI as Jase went past. The AI's accelerator indicator was showing full throttle yet there was a drop in the speed. From Jase's point of view there was no indication of the touch.

So, I would say that if there is no drop in the speed of the AI, then the lap is clean.

Electric.......
I was on RS (racing soft tyres),Atlleast it says so when I look at the replay.

Someone,please check my replay.

Well, the good and bad??? news is that your race replay is perfectly clean and valid. 👍

You are not a bad driver Electric. I have looked at a couple of your replays now, and you drive a nice line, with good input coordination. Typical of the D3 replays I have watched, they mostly stick to the middle of the track, and are wide on a lot of apexes with tentative inputs. You do not drive that way. In fact, if not for 3 major errors you made in this race that cost you at least 1second, I am convinced you could have won the whole thing! You should have done the race a third time eh? :sly:

IMO you are D2 material. You probably wouldn't win right away in D2, but depending how much effort put forth you should be competitive in that division, and will have plenty of people to race with. 👍

Just my 2 cents. :) Congrats on your win!

I wish I had a maxdrive just to see your folks' replays. I thought I did pretty well for a D3. I think what killed me was the fact that I had driven the Minolta at the Infineon endurance race so the transition affected my input style. With the Minolta, throttle modulation and careful turning are important because of the RSH tires. With the Celica, it's a much heavier car as far as inputs so I think in many places I was kinda squirrely and didn't put in as smooth of inputs. It's n00bish, sadly. :(

I still have all of my favorite WRS replays. Hopefully soon I can get a max driver thing and swap replays. I would really love to see your replays and racing lines more importantly. I'm just stunned at how fast you can get in this game!

EDIT: I voted "good." I think the AI kinda screwed things up on that first lap. Many times I found myself actually waiting for that "first place" car going uphill before t1 because passing him was risky. A few times I managed to do it very cleanly. But everytime I did, I screwed up on lap 2. :(

Whats going on with my replay Cyril? is it accepted or not..

I have just ran Dion's replay, over and over.

Yes, when you watch it from the Celica's POV, there is a definate spike in the G-force meter AT the suspected point of contact.( there is however NO photomode evidence because of the limits of the graphics engine, as previously discussed)

From the POV of Dion's car, there is no POSITIVE spike, BUT, i see a 'slight' NEGATIVE spike on the meter, which 'COULD' indicate that the car was impeeded in it's turn by a 'slight' contact at the rear left quarter.
ie that the (admittedly simulated)accelerometer in the car registered that the car was subjected to LESS cornering force for a fraction of a second (as the rear left of the car contacted the Celica and straightened the car out for that fraction of a second.)

Physics dictates that if you hit an object a glancing blow, that forces (opposite and equal, according to Newton's laws) will infact be proportional to the angle that the forces are applied (see a pool game as an example) therefore the forces applied to the celica are proportionally greater than, and OPPOSITE to the forces applied to Dion's car, and therefore less easy to detect!
I have to say that this is VERY subjective, and 'I' have seen this, but verification from others would be appreciated!

Therefore 'I' would have to give it a yellow flag, ie doubtfull but acceptable!👍

Sorry Dion!:guilty:

And as for the steering wheel display, that would have very little bearing(if any at all), as it is an indicator of what the driver is doing, not what the car is doing.

Neil
👍

I'm back home and I'll take a look (and take a decision) within 3 or 4 hours.

Here's my replay just for the hell of it.

Let me know if it's the wrong one again like last week.:dunce:

Just watched all the PAL replays:

holzlondon: Clean 👍 (Very very close call on the left-hander after T1 on Lap 2 but it's good)
ROB 256R: Clean 👍
holl01: Clean 👍 (and alien-like as usual  )
Small_Fryz: I for one think it's clean, I watched it a few times from different angles and could not say there was contact with any confidence. I think benefit of the doubt should be with the driver in these things 👍

And that replay by Weary.....phew....boy can that boy drive....he must be some kind of hunkerific genius to drive so brilliantly!!! :sly:

I'll start to check PAL replays right now.
Anyway, I just realized that Small_Fryz's replay was not requested since he got silver only this week. So I thought that posting an unrequested but doubtful replay was worth some reputation points. I'll be back within half an hour with my decision.

Similar comment 2 weeks in a row....:odd:

Don't the rules say '2 wheels on the track at all times, the rumble strips (or whatever they're called) are part of the track'? If that's the case, I think I was well in the clear...:D

Actually I think I was in more danger of a bad lap by almost hitting the left wall just before the end of lap 1.:scared: That was bloody close

Small_Fryz
I think it's worth a yellow flag.
On the one hand, both cars are very close and there is a spike on the Celica G-meter. On the other hand, there is no change in the direction, there is no G-spike on the MR-S and there is no sudden steering movement on the MR-S.
I think we would need more accuracy than the game can provide to know what happened. So the lap is accepted but marked with a yellow flag to show that it was pheeeew !!!

holzlondon
There's indeed a very very close call, but it's clean. Here is a pic showing the left front wheel just before it makes contact with the rumble strip.

It's now time for xXSilencerXx to post his replay, and for someone NTSC to check MinorShunt's lap.

flat-out

:ill: OMG! I stand corrected. I never viewed it from the front, so I thought I was driving over the rumble strips while I was only just approaching it. I think I'll check my replays from all angles now...

I almost just disqualified myself there....

Thanks Cyril!

I expect others to race clean and not cheat, so i lead from example, i dont have double standards. It just wouldnt be right to for me to take a position that I dont deserve.

Im glad it got the ok 👍, WRS Div1 podium!! woo 👍

Ive got nothing to hide 👍

Good to see all these replays being checked, I think the WRS is improving in this aspect 👍

Hey I can't provide a replay because I have no means of getting it to the computer. You can take away my 2nd place if you want. I don't care as long as I can compare myself to other people it doesn't matter. I just like to see how I stack up against real drivers.

I'm very confident that the lap was clean though. I spent about 2 hrs perfecting passing the Ai whitout hitting them and going as fast as I could.

Edit: Good job on the handicap idea Flat-out I liked it.

I was very surprised at how much faster the ASL was than the Impreza though. I had much more fun driving the Impreza, but because the ASL was a little looser in the back end I could throw it around corners a little faster.

Just go out and get a Max Drive, you won't regret it, as I'm sure everyone will tell you 👍

@xXSilencerXx : as Ben says ^, the MaxDrive is worth its price (I paid mine 15 € delivered, about US$ 20) for people who play on a regular basis.
For this week, you have until next tuesday to provide a replay, so perhaps you live close to someone who has a replay device and you can manage to post a replay anyway. Or else, as you say, it's no big issue : your time will be displayed as 'Unofficial', which doesn't mean it was dirty. Casio had at least half a dozen unofficialized times before he got his MaxDrive.

Well done man, well done... 👍

Electric, I knew you weren't D3 material the first time I saw you race. Well, I needed some more races to confirm the fact, but I haven't seen one race where you weren't D2 material. I was D2 material when I first started I'd like to think, but since I didn't win every week, I didn't get promoted for a good few weeks. If I spent more time on the races, I'm sure I could've gone almost fast enough to win each week. But that's the thing, you've gotta spend the time to go crazy. And that happens every once and a while. Like the races that I've one, I've loved them, and raced on and on and on. A lot of my second place finishes have been like that as well. You on the other hand, seemed to have just done a couple sessions? Stop doubting, you're an awesome driver. Hopefully, WELCOME to Division 2!

T'was a good race this week, I just didn't have the patience or the time to figure out how to get around the AI, so I went with something from my first session, I think? Can't remember now.

I'll work on tryin to get one. It'll probably take awhile cuz I'm goin on a vacation soon and I have to get my parents to drive me out to by since I'm still three months away from my license.

And may I add, that getting one allows you to do more then just upload your replays. It really beneficial in that, you can see how the fast guys do it, and that really makes you faster. I was starting to think, 'yeah, maybe I'll use it once to get into D1 then I'll never use it again, because I'm never going to get top 3 in D1'. But I use it almost everyday, looking at different replays and things. You won't regret it.

Here is my replay.
Sorry it's so late, but my PS2 has been acting up here lately :indiff:

Aynone NTSC wants to take a look at both replays tonight, so that we can move the thread into the archive ?
Thanks

Although I didn't race, I like to help out where I can, just verified The Wizard's race, and its clean:tup:

Working on MinorShunt's one, but I get a load error when I try to play it, and it won't let me delete the file either. Weird. :boggled:
Going to try downloading it again.... will keep you posted.

*EDIT* MinorShunt's replay is also clean.👍

Maybe Cyril,
it is very tempting, and you'd think after A-speccing that track for 24hrs, I might know something about it!!! :sly:
I'm 6 races into GTWC at the moment, and it's taking a while, getting sent away on business to Idaho, doesn't help, but I think I might be able to run something. Most likely a stock classic ride though, nothing anywhere near the 850HP limit!:scared:

If only our good old Mini Cooper was available :(
