Fast car thread (uh oh)

I'm curious:

1. What is the fastest car in GT4? Hopefully I won't be bashed too hard for this about the search feature and previous threads related to this so maybe my rules will redeem myself, maybe not.
Rules: No modifications of ANY kind can be done (ie the car is purchased/won and sent to Test Track with no alterations of ANY kind which includes but is not limited to HP upgrades, transmission alterations, downforce alterations etc)
2. What is the fastest car in GT4 with additions of ONLY NOS/Muffler/NA Tune/Turbo/Intercooler etc
Rules: Only HP boost/upgrade is allowed (ie the car is purchased/won and is allowed the have upgrades such as Racing Muffler/NA tune/NOS/Race chip/Turbo/Intercooler etc), no tampering with transmission settings, downforce or other areas which cause an increase in speed.

Thanks and sorry for the thread but I'm really curious which is the fastest car without changing Auto setting in Transmission, downforce and other factors.

If you are talking about top speed, look at my sig. But you do have a problem with one of your rules: a cars top speed is greatly limted by its transmission

I know about the 300MPH thread(I've read some of the first few pages and the last 6) and I know changing things in the cars transmission will change its speed but that is why I made this thread.
My examples were 1) nothing done and 2) you could increase the horse power but you are not allowed to make any settings adjustments and what not.

It's just for my own personal curiosity.

maybe the escudo but ive seen the fastest on the toyota reace car

Minolta?

I mean I could default the big cars that I currently own(still missing several) and do all this testing myself but it would be a lot of workand time plus I wouldn't want to save progress in between. Then to remove all upgrades done and re-test it would be a hassle.

Maybe when I finish the Formula GT I'll try this as a long experiment for myself and post results for anyone interested like me. But I'm still be missing many cars(Bentley Speed 8, Pescarolo C60, Playstation C62, Pagani Race Car, Toyota 7 and several others)

Well the question is fastest regarding top speed/acceleration? Or fastest including going around corners?

The question is regarding top speed, not around corners but if someone knows the fastest around corners following my rules and wants to throw it in here than go ahead by all means.

So, in effect, this thread is about which car has the highest gearing?

No matter how much power you give a car, it's top speed will be governed by it's gearing and rev limit.

Yeah but the point of the thread is which has the highest speed before you start messing around with settings of the vehicle.

I'll give you a picture of my top speed run top 10 when I get home. The only cars I've taken there have been stock unmodified road cars.

My money on the bog standard category would be on one of the Group C cars. The F1 out of the box has less power, more drag and shorter gearing. None of the road cars, that I am aware of, will do 230mph but the Minolta Toyota will (standard engine and gearing) get close so I assume others like the Sauber, Jag XJR9 and perhaps the LMPs will be somewhere around there.

As for modified engine but on standard gearing, the Corvette ZR1 and Lotus Carlton both share the same six speed box which in real life was renowned for having an absurdly long, and more or less useless, top ratio. I believe the 'Vette was geared to pull something like 350mph or 400mph in top at the redline. The car was never intended to make full use of that, of course. It was geared like that to allow the car to cruise at motorway speeds at extremely low revs, aiding fuel consumption and thus dodging US "gas guzzler" tax. However, these two cars, as a result, probably have the longest standard gearing in the game and the only question would be how much power the engine can produce to make use of that tall top gear.

Dunno if any other cars in the game have unusually high gearing as standard, at least not to well over 200mph. Fastest standard road car I have tested was the Ford GT which reached 221.4mph. My Merc reached 217.4, and my Zonda S 215.5. The Cizeta V16T managed 212.4

However, these were all running N2 tyres, and had all received an oil change. Does that count them out?

All 100% stock as won/bought.

Yes they count. I didn't mention it in the OP but oil change and tire change is allowed. Does tire have any effect on top speed or just better handling? I assume the latter but I'm sure soft tires help out around long turns for top speed as opposed to hard ones.

Thanks for the image daan. Do you have LMP cars or did they not top the list at stock settings?
I'll do my own run in another week and post it.

I have them, but I don't drive them. :yuck:
