K so when ever me and my freinds play on 2 player, the tires will spin out dramatically and than we i go into gran turismo mode all the cars have excellent braking and control. With 2 player all the cars suck.
 
You probably have the ASM/TCS off in Arcade mode, and you never turn it off in GT mode, so you've never learned to drive.

Just a guess, though.
