Welcome to a tuning shop ran by two Finnish guys willing to share their tuning experience with you! The cars may seem odd, the setups may seem odd but believe me, every little thing has been thoroughly tested out. We aim to produce the most enjoyable driving experience, even if it means losing half a second on a lap. After all, it will be the faster way in a long run. The lap times you see below are not perfect laps, just some benchmark times that could undoubtedly be bettered.

The system on these two opening posts is simple. You'll see banners - acting as hyperlinks - with the names of the cars, made out of the colours of the vehicles. Every banner also sports a time, driven on Grand Valley Speedway using the exact settings posted. Next to the banners there are smaller squares indicating the tyre classes of the cars. Have a good time and please give feedback! :dopey:

As a helping feature we've added skill level badges on the banners. They display the level of experience needed to drive the car right on its limits, a short explanation follows.

= Anyone can drive it. Easy and forgiving, loads of grip and a predictable handling.
advance.png
= Experience needed. Still not too difficult but more challenging, fun cars for advanced drivers.
pro.png
= If you don't have at least silver on all licences, you should think twice before hopping in.
expert.png
= For the best. Treacherous and very challenging, but also the fastest of their classes.

Oh, about giving the feedback... we have a good deal for you. Try out one or more of our cars, write a small review (really a review, not "the car is OK") about it, give us a car that you would like to be tuned to certain level and we'll PM it to you. Keep it sensible though, we're not guinea pigs for you to make fun about. No race cars as we've specialized in road models. Drifters possible but not recommended. More instructions in Post #11. Point the request PM to the builder the car you reviewed.

If you want to quote the setup post, please keep it down to the essentials. Partly because quoting an entire post doesn't do too much good for the readability of the thread but mainly because the setup may be changed and we don't want people making a review based on the setup they found in the quote when browsing the thread as it may differ quite greatly from the improved version.

Below the car banners there's one more, linking to a complete (occasionally out of date though) list of our cars in .xls format. In case you don't have a suitable program for opening it go ahead and download OpenOffice for free. 👍

Built out of an already impressive Autech Stagea to humiliate RUFs and other supercars, this beast of a wagon packs a punch seldom seen. Putting out in excess of 550 bhp it takes a determined driver to handle it but when mastered, it can be a real confidence builder. The results speak for themselves: the Tuning Car Grand Prix was a breeze and the big Nissan rockets its way around the sacred Nordschleife in less than six minutes and forty-five seconds. Way to show BMW who's the boss! 👍

I'm lazy, so I'll just copy the description from Tuner Garages..

This time, I had again a familiar task: Turning a sumo wrestler into a Spiderman. My victim was Ford Mustang GT, a ponycar that had suffered same fate as Elvis.. from a slim, swiftly moving superstar into slow, fat, asthmatic abomination. And happily I can announce that I have succeeded. Please, sit down, put on your seatbelts, because this ponycar has been fed with high octane since it's birth!
 
Please do, any feedback is needed in making the upcoming cars as good as possible!
 
okay, I have an idea:

Every visitor who tests our setups may ask for one setup for a car He/She has and wants to be tuned to best possible performance and handling.

The setup will be PM'd to the customer for approval, and in case He/She is unsatisfied, the setup will be adjusted in order to fix the problems that the customer had noticed. Naturally, there are near-impossible cases ( such as RUF CTR2, that is understeery, heavy-feeling whale and some Mercedes Benzes :ouch: ) which are resisting our best efforts, but we will do our best in any case. All You need to do is give us some guide lines, as the weight reduction level, power, NA or FI etc..
If you want a Honda Odyssey drifter for example, we'll deliver setup that enables it. If you happen to want a 306bhp Alpine that can humiliate 500bhp cars, we already have such setup, and it will be posted later.

NOTE! - From this on, we won't make race car setups, since they differ greatly from the roadcars that we're used to in terms of handling and performance.


Keep in mind that this will happen only if you test one of our setups and give us feedback. If you want us to adjust a car for a certain online race at GTP, you have to ask from the judges and organizer of the race, if it's okay to use outsider team to set up the car for the particular race.

Anyway, this is our proposition to You, dear visitor. It's up to You.. For a small effort you can get settings for a car that has been avoiding your best attempts.
 
thats veruy cool! but if the stagea were really a nismo version, it would have spring rates colser to 15... just noticed that from tuning the other nismos...after church I will give you feedback on the stagea ;)
 
I will gladly test the Nismo 550R Skyline GT-R Wagon, as well as the Mustang GT-S.

I'll do our friend the StageA now. Oddly enogh, it already has the NISMO rims.
 
My my, we have a winner here. A quick run around Sears Point Sports Car Course revealed a neutral-handling, quick stopping, AWD, 550hp wagon that is capable of putting some of the world's finest to shame; just as it was planned. Great job guys! The 'Stang will need to wait. I've got about 10 bazillion things I need to do over the next few days.

Just don't be surprised if a few Malllender Racing 400m and road-course setups make it into the open. ;)

Good to hear that Rotary Junkie, are you planning to use that setup as a basis for some of your own ones or what did you mean by the Mallender Racing? If so, I can be proud of making a pretty good car!

I didn't fully understand your comments Tulok, how can it be prone to spinning out yet understeer too much? The car is no show drifter, it's a heavy vehicle meant to be driven at high speeds so some stability is needed. I have never had any problems with understeer, "takes a determined driver to handle it" equals throwing the silk gloves away and finding the Nomex ones... and feel free to tweak the transmission more to your liking. It was tuned for track driving, not top speed runs. 👍
 
Right, I found the car VERY neutral, with just a hint of understeer. Perfect. Back off the throttle, nose rotates willingly, nail it, GO!

No car that I NEED tuned yet, so I won't waste it yet. I always have, and always will work off my own experience for tuning before consulting other sources. I probably will use the 550R as a basis for my own setup, my changes would mostly be some bias settings and an LSD. On my own setup, I found that the car NEEDS a good bit of acceleration side on the front, or it lights the inside tire at WOT. That and I'll throw my personal gearset at it. Toploader close ratio+2: 2.320(1st), 1.690(2nd), 1.290(3rd), 1.000(4th), .800(5th) .622(6th).

And I've gotta get the old GN burnout pic. Which means a GNX tune.

Greycap: Be proud of that setup, be DAMN proud. It works beautifully.
Good job, and I'll see about the Stang sometime.
 
Big thanks! But listen to an old GT-R specialist here... please try to avoid fitting an LSD until the very end. You have a very big possibility of ruining the car as it now has the ATTESA-ETS Pro in action, taking care of all the power distribution. You don't want to replace computers with mechanics, do you?

I will gladly build you a car of your liking in the future, feel free to tell me when it's the time. :)
 
so, here is my review of the 'Stang:

the car drives really awesome..........the handling is sweet, maybe a bit understeer, but that could be my driving-style. i think the car has to much power in the gears 1-3, which is quite funny to drift, but not so funny while accelerating out of a corner -> much wheelspin!

it indeed does have a lot of power, but the main reason for wheelspin are tyres that are simply overwhelmed by the brutal force of this car. tail out huligans will love this car, though, i wouldn't recommend it for those who chase fastest laptimes without changing the tyres to stickier ones.

thank you for your review. any wishes about car and setup, and the limits?

If I turn in too much, it will kick out some, and maybe spin.
If i try to trail brake, it wont turn at all. when i am going slow enough to turn, and I let off the brake, it feels like its still only using half of it's grip for turning...
it does corners nicely most of the time, but its like someone just flips a switch to make it over or under.
6.5 is pretty good, considereing a 10/10 would be a flawless car, its pretty nice, mainly because it packs some punch.
 
Well, electronics might be the answer, but I'll run tests.

@Greycap's Attessa ET-S Pro post, that is.

An attempt to make a light, quick hatchback even lighter and quicker while still maintaining the originality of the car, this Ibiza has undergone a series of modifications with the emphasis being on handling instead of straight line speed. It's not the fastest car out there but not a traffic jam builder either!

The bound and rebound look a little interesting on the Ibiza. Can you explain why they’ve inverted in terms of front/rear balance? Are you just trying to keep the front tyres on the ground as much as possible with such a high front rebound?

Also, I was wondering why you have the brakes biased so much towards the rear? Do the benefits of a pointy car under brakes outweigh the increased stopping distance in such a light car?

Honestly I’ve never tuned a FWD car so if my questions are dumb, just blame that on my FWD ignorance. ;)
 
I assume that they're adjusted that way in order to strengthen the weight shift-effect under braking. that helps to get the weight on front tyres while turning, thus increasing the grip.

That's exactly what they are for, I found out that the front tyres don't lose grip nearly as easily with this setup as with a "normal" one. For FF cars, the front grip is everything so often compromises must be done.

They definitely do, the front brakes had to be made relatively low-powered to stop the front tyres being overloaded and with the powerful rear brakes I gained more braking power. At one point the brakes were even 5 / 10 but that combination was getting a bit too hairy in some situations so I ended up with the usual 5 / 7.

And as the old saying goes, there are no dumb questions, only dumb answers!
