Really nice work on the evo mate. IMO it looks really well (looking at the fact it isn't finished). The glowy touch on the wing makes it a special one. I guess you also stopped because it was really difficult to get the big extra touch into it. Also a flawless edited one would look a bit "boring".

cheers

You just about nailed it, fred.
Most of the reason I dropped it was because I thought it was too still to show an Evo where the theme was 'EVO'. :)
Also, I thought that editing it to look really good (to me) wouldn't change it that much, and I couldn't find a way to change the shot to make it look more original.

I like the colour on the Evo, nice rim choice and the background tone kinda match the rim that form a simple colour scheme. Like everyone said the blur is a bit too much, I also think it is not very appropriate for aggressive looking Evo.

Damn, you have a great eye! 👍
You spotted what I wanted to right on the spot. The color combination between the rims on the front and the scenery in the back. Also, the brake calipers match well with the red trees, make the shot evenly colored.
Thanks for your comment, mate!

The EVO is quite good!! The soft look gives a great realism to the shot!! (but maybe I would removed some blur):)
The "chrome" Mercedes, thats crazy mate...very fancy:tup:

 and good luck in the Tournament:tup:

Yeah, I exagerated on the blur... :dunce:
I have another shot of that car, I'll post it for you guys to see.
Thanks for your comment and wishes for the tournament! (so far I'm ahead...)

I like where you were heading with the Evo. You should finish it up:)

Cod, thanks for dropping by!
Nah, I'll leave this one alone. At least for now (I'm up to 'here' with Evo's)
I will post one however, that was also a tournament reject, it's almost finished and I want to know what you think of it.

But many thanks for your positive comment on this one, really appreciate it. 👍

That shot is very cool Beerzy. The colour and tones of the image are very nice and all work together. Great rim choice too.
Just like others have said, bit too blurry though. You should really work on it some more and post up the finished product. 👍

Thanks for dropping a comment, TW.
I still haven't got used to your new username. I have to start calling you something that 'clicks'. Tangled Drift? Drifting Web? :)

Hahaha, never get tired of your comments about my name buddy. :D

Thanks for your comment, TW. 👍

I just might do it someday, as soon as I like EVO's again. :D

Now, this update is composed of 2 shots, one is from the CCCL comp, and the other is a shot of an RX-7 on the Ring I had for ages on my HD.

I decided to do some quick experiments in both to see the results, try some new stuff.
I'm not that happy with neither of them, but they served to learn some more.
Anyway, I'd like to hear your comments on these, as in what looks good, what's terrible, how could they be better... you get the point. :)

Also, you can see the difference between the 'old' and the new sig. :sly:

Well I did a little catching up and what I miss most in the pictures above is the terribly good car-track choices you've made.
Especially that GTR Merc looks great on that track. Oh yeah and the Cobra on Autumn Ring is just delicious.

The VW Golf doesn't have some deep coloring, it lacks a bit of contrast or something I don't know. There's no real reflection visible on the car to dodge or burn and improve either. It's just a bad stock photo I think (could be a nice one for my new thread :dopey: )

The RX7 has got more potential but there's something missing I don't know.
It's the type of shot I could come up with, and place in my gallery. But you're a little better at this than me, and know better how to give it a special look.
So I can't point that out to you, it just doesn't seem to be special that's all.

You've got some amazing shots in here though. And really that Cobra is my absolute favorite.

Thanks, Neils. :)

Long time no see, great to see you still visit my gallery.
I really appreciate your comment, like I said, even I wasn't happy with these 2 shots. They were more like experiments, and served that purpose.
But it seems they suck a lot more than I thought, you were the only one commenting. :indiff:

On the Cobra shot, credit must be given to Tangled Web (formerly Drift2XS), he let me use his PMC shot so I could transform it some, it came out well.

Now, to my next update. Well, it's not really an update, it's just to show one of my tournament round 3 rejects.
This one's unfinished (panel lines, some jaggies, and a lot more undone), as it's easy to see. I kept disliking it more and more as time went by working on the shot, and eventually gave up. What really made me lose it was the fantastic part of the car that's GT4 blurred. It seemed a good idea when I took it, but now I hate it.

I think it still looks pretty darn good you know 👍
A bit dark, but a nice amount of contrast and nice warm colors in the background from the trees and all.

Hehe it might disappoint you, but I like this one alot more than the previous 2 :P
Although I have to come back to my comment on that RX7, it's not really special but I don't know. There's something about it wich I like ^^

Niels

Thanks, mate! 👍

And I'm glad you like this one better, the other 2 were experiments, this was going to be my entry on the tournament. :scared:

And seeing it now on my brother's screen, it does look a bit dark.
I still haven't been able to calibrate my recent monitor properly...

Reject: I would get bored real quick. What attracts me is the background, so vivid. The chrome look is nice, but the composition seems to make the car distant from the audience.
Experimental: The RX-7 is beautiful even I ain't sunset addict. The Golf's composition is perfect with the depth of view, however I am not digging the colour. Maybe I just hate red/green combination.

Wish you have a great comp with TW this round

awesome updates! what you did with the rx7 is awesome. i love the tone of it too, and the concept where it looks like a spectator just decided to snap a photo of it while it ran around the track. something i did before when i went to indy here in vancouver 7 years ago. i've always wanted to do something like that in here, but i was scared of the comments i would get. sorry i havent been in here to comment on your updates lately, been really busy.
the silvia is another great work of yours as well, though the angle is a bit plain, the colors the tone and just the little bits and pieces of detail and the lighting is enough to capture my eye. it was actually the very first thing i saw when i clicked on this page. very simple and effective. and the way you did it and the background reminds me of the touge challenges that bmi does
in japan. you know, hot version and the drift king and all that jdm stuff. awesome work man! i have to make sure i dont miss anymore great updates from you. btw, thanks for the advice on my page. i'll make it up to you next time 👍

Wow, the Golf is going spectacular in that jump. All of them are performing great compositions, but the lighting effects are overstanding specially in the RX7. Now I think you got a good balance between hardcore modifications and what must be in a real photo.

The last silvia shows this. All reflections touches you added and whole cleaning are so spectacular as useful. I keep loving the GT4 blur btw :D

Thanks a lot for your comments, guys. I really appreciate them. 👍

Sorry I can't reply now to everyone individually, will do so as soon as I arrive back.

I'll just leave you with a shot I finished a couple of weeks ago, but forgot about it. Age is taking it's toll...

Hope you guys like it.

Your clean up is amazing. I'd put you and alex at the top of the heap here at gtplanet for clean and realistic shots. Great work recently Beerzy. I absolutely love the lighting in this latest update.

WOAH, say yes! Alex. This last 3000GT was like a hit in my eye. The car looks so amazingly COOL! Yeah, I think you got the beautiful angle of the car (Every car has one hehe) and the editing is very reallistic as the God of Lights aka C_F said :D.

I'm loving more and more your lastest works. I may say the rear rim has the 2d problem, you know. I could advice you to use phototravel rims because believe me, they look 50 times better than any chopped 2D ones :)👍

Salu2.alexwrc

i'm jealous! i always thought that car was ugly until you did this update. guess photos are worth a thousand words after all. great work man!

nice! i love the fading out road, and the clean , pure 3000, nice rims also, and the reflections are very realistic, but the rear wheel is a bit, err i dunno. it just feels wrong a bit too much shadow?

Overall very nicely done & very realistic 👍

U have been busy Beerz!!!
Let me start by the VW Golf pic. Well its a very cool action shot, with great use of colors...U really captured well the Golf mean look.
The RX-7 pic its one of my favourites of your gallery...thats what I call a very beautiful shot!!! I like the sunset feeling or something!! Well done:)
The Silvia...hmmm...I think its cool, quite simple, but effective. Still you did well entering the Prelude in the Tournament. (yes I know this one is not finished, but even if was the Prelude would be the best choice)
Now about this last shot, the 3000GT...damm...incredible!!! Great clean up, great quality, love the rims and the faded look on the road!!! U really are doing great master pieces Beerz!! Just keep bringing more, and enjoy GTP:)

Damn, you'll make me blush... :embarrassed:
But seriously, thanks a lot mate.
I wouldn't go as far as to put myself next to alex in clean-up (or anything for that matter), have you seen his recent work? But I appreciate you're liking my work so much, as I see you as one of the guys around here who's work I enjoy the most.

Thanks for the high praise, alex! :)
But those actually ARE phototravel rims...
Only since they have such thin spokes with many details, they got a bit screwed up and I couldn't get them to look any better than that. I also screwed up the light on the rear one.
But I am very pleased with the car itself, and the overall scenery, glad you liked my 'angle'. :)

i'm jealous! i always thought that car was ugly until you did this update. guess photos are worth a thousand words after all. great work man!

Thanks a lot, J!
I for one always loved this car, have all models from all years, in almost every color, just love them.

Thanks for your input, SimmiS. :)
Yeah, I screwed up the light/shadow of the rear rim. Ah well...

I am enjoying it!
Thanks for your detailed comment on each shot, Nuno.
I think I did well not sticking with that shot and to try a whole different thing with the Prelude, which is a car I don't recall ever seeing on any gallery or comp. I have 2, that blue one, and a silver metallic.

Glad you liked the 3000GT, that cleanup took some time (still a couple of things not right), but came out pretty smooth and natura, the way I wanted it.
Keep dropping by!

This pictures are not good…………they are awesome!!!

Just a tip: Maybe it would be better to link yours updates to the first post, to be more easier to search for the pics, preventing people to pass through talk-talk-written-written posts.

 I tried, alex... but I think the main problem was that the main local shot at La Sarthe was taken with the red filter on +2, and the phototravel was taken stock, and as I couldn't match the tones, I overdone them with the light, killing the detail.

Now, here's my go at jgda9rs's Auto Union shot in Italy.
I did a 20min edit on it (no clean-up except run a blur tool over some parts, without selecting any areas), mostly light and tone work.

Here's the original:

EDIT: Thanks for the compliment, LdS! 👍
Another fellow 'tuga', I see. I'll try to do that when I find some time, good call.

Some great updates Beerzy! 👍

The Auto Union has brushed up quite well.

As for the 3000GT, sod the little overtouch on the rear rim,
it is one hell of a shot. The angle is spot on for the contrasting shadows. :)

One word...Amazing!👍, i know its a bit late but i would just like to say how much of a superb job you have done on the 3000GT shot.
The shot is so clean and realistic! and those rims look sweet:D

My favourite part has to be the backround fading away, it is such a cool effect:tup:

I look forward to seeing your future work:tup:

cheers

Tommi2000:D

p.s you've done a great job on the auto union shot as well:tup:

nice work on that one! i love how it turned out. such beautiful contrast. love the detail on the ground too. not bad for 20 minutes worth of work.

The AutoUnion looks supurb, Beerzy. I really like that particular phototravel location. The lighting is perfect for cars featuring flowing, unobstructed bodywork. The Auto Union is no exception and u present it very well 👍

Great work you make the original look like it was shot on an overcast day in Manchester, rather than sunny Italy.

Wow, this was almost on page 3 already... There's about 2.000 new galleries everyday...

Some great updates Beerzy! 👍

Thanks a lot for your comment, mate! Yeah, I totally screwed up with the rims...

Welcome back, Tommi! 👍
Thanks for dropping by. And for being one of the few that liked the rims too. Glad you like the background, I had a good time making it like that.

 You did a goooood work with that Auto Union, it's superb!!!! I love it

Thanks, mate! I gotta have a go at one of your shots too (if you allow, of course), they're always so cool. 👍

nice work on that one! i love how it turned out. such beautiful contrast. love the detail on the ground too. not bad for 20 minutes worth of work.

J, thanks for dropping!
Yeah, I figured it was good like that and if cleanup didn't go well, I'd screw up the shot and the lighting.

The AutoUnion looks supurb, Beerzy. I really like that particular phototravel location. The lighting is perfect for cars featuring flowing, unobstructed bodywork. The Auto Union is no exception and u present it very well 👍

Thanks for your very positive comment, Redgodzila. But shot's credit goes to jgda9rs, its his stock shot, I just enhanced it on photoshop.

Great work you make the original look like it was shot on an overcast day in Manchester, rather than sunny Italy.

Thanks, but you do know that particular location is at night? :)
Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment, I appreciate it. 👍

Now, as I'm gonna be out for a couple of days, I decided to leave you with my first experience at making scenery shots.
It's ok if they, well... suck. Because it's the first time I've done them.
Anyway, tell me what you guys think.

Whoooops! Great! The 2nd one has a bit excessive yellow in the whole image, but the tarmac's reflections you added is amazing. All those sceneries are good. Hope to see more of them when you'll be back.

Salu2.alexwrc

You have chosen great locations Beerzy:tup: especially Suzuka, because if you get it right (which you have) it can look amazing, those reflections on the road are great:tup:
I also love the other 2 because they are simple but effective:tup:
Can't wait for more in the near future:D

cheers
