R3:s seems good.. Do what you like about the wing..

what do you mean by aspiration.. I don't understand since my english isn't so good.

He wants to know if you want NA tuning, turbocharging or supercharging. Considering it's a Camaro, the turbo is out of question though. :)

just a suggestion, I don't know what the powercurve of the ss is, but the powercurve on the 302 is beautifull, if the 350's is a lil rough or drops to quick you might check out the z28, i think it's even a tad lighter but don't quote me on that. it's your car im just letting you know my own experience.

personally I prefer the Z/28 as well, and have put up my settings for it in tuner garage. they're ancient and running on S3's, but it's still a bunch of sideways fun... just like this SS will be, since I'll use those settings as base.:sly:

350's torque is low down, and power way up, whereas Z/28 has more revhappy nature, both power and torque are up high. I have to run some comparisons, but I'd dare to say that they're equally fast. bhp and weight-wise they're equal.

Woooohooooo Sideway action :D

Seems like you know what you're doing Leo :)

But which one of the cars are best?

SS 350 or Z28?

Sounds like Z28 is faster

well, say pretty please and you'll know in few minutes when i'll PM the settings to you..💡

Grim R34per

Just by the looking at the figures, I knew it would be a mean car, and a fast one. The first track I tested it in was in the Test Course for some lapping. Achieving a maximum of 220 mph isn't blindingly fast, but who cares? My average speed was 207.6 mph. Then I stopped to test 0-60, 60-0, and 0-200-0 times. The times are obviously not exact but this is what I got with some concentration.

0-60: 2.7 s
60-0: 4 s (Doubt it takes so long, this is definitely not accurate)
0-200-0: below 20 s

Very good. I then took the car out to Sarthe II, the holy mother of tracks. And I was most definitely not disappointed. It took the Indianapolis corner very good, maybe a little faster than the AI, and at the Prosche Curves, little understeer. It was in this track where I realized this car is a monster. Against a Minolta, I managed to get a 7 second lead just in the first lap. Wild car.

Racing the supercars, they were obviously no competition. With such an impressive 0-60 time, I knew the car would accelerate at a blinding rate up to top speed, and exiting sharp turns with little trouble was a breeze.

Tommorow, the R390.

I just found my second memory card with the GT4 game save with basically unlimited credits. Do you know what that means? I've found the Carbon Creature, and can now afford it as well. Let's get to the driving, then:

First, I need to drive the version without the settings applied and... Oh dear, this isn't looking very good at all. The mixture of a 159mph transmission and 788 hp is not a good one. The tires never stopped squealing, and almost all of any straightaway was spent bouncing infuriatingly off the rev limiter. I really wish I knew anything else about the car, but I really don't. The transmission keeps me so busy during corners that I never really know what, exactly, is happening. The infuriating top speed of the car condenses braking into a time block so miniscule that it is simply impossible to analyze at all. It's a terrible, terrible shame to think that such an inept powertrain may be masking an excellent car. So of course, I simply must find out! I lengthened the gear reatios to unmask the mystery of the handling, and wished I hadn't. When driven perfectly, it behaves well enough, but the slightest error gives you Oversteer™ in the worst form. Mid-corner lift off? Oversteer. Trail braking? Oversteer. Which isn't so bad, until it comes to throttling. The weight is hurled aft, the rear regrips, and the front pivots outward. The only thing saving the Nissan from the outside wall is the slowdown caused by rough maneuvering. The car can perform, but feels much too violent to be enjoyable.

I called up MFT and desperately pleaded with them to help the terrible beast, and they eventually caved and arranged a meeting with Greycap at Suzuka. I handed him the keys and took a nap in the support van. A few hours later, he approached me, barely able to contain how proud he was of his work, and tossed me the keys. As I throttled away from the pits, I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw a smile of nearly pure pride and accomplishment taking over his face. But there was something else present, as well. Mischief?

Instantly, the gear ratios felt well-tuned: The shift points felt natural, and came at perfectly spaced intervals. Some throttle control was required for first gear, but second gear allowed the throttle to be floored with glee--and I think I felt my face tighten a bit. I braked early and gently for the first corner, not taking any chances whatsoever. It remained beautifully composed through the turn well beyond the one g mark, and I suddenly felt foolish; "of course there will be monstrous grip. Well then, the 'slow' mark will be two g's!" The car was very, very smooth right up to the lofty limit of it's massive grip, and the weight transfer was well-controlled and tuned to near-perfection. It worked exactly like it should in a race car--the braking wight transfer allowed for swift entry, and the acceleration weight transfer gave sufficient traction for acceleration. But, most importantly, the transfer didn't take much from the other axle, resulting in an infinitely more smooth, less violent, flee from those pesky Group C cars.

But then, I discovered the dark side of the nice, fluffy new tuning. I delayed the braking way too much for turn # 1 and ended up at 90% braking and full steering lock. Suddenly, the rear bumper got an idea: "I'll race the front end!" And I spun off into the dirt, hitting the wall at about 80mph. Ouch. Later, I got a bit jerky in the high-speed broken sweeper after the hairpin, and the rear slid out again. This time, I instantly foiled it's evil plan to spin me to the right with a touch of expertly executed countersteer. Just a dab more to straighten out, and... I met the outside wall at 120.

Black Beauty #5 is a fantastically balanced, compliant, and swift running companion, but her power must be respected if you expect to step out unscathed. Brilliantly done, Greycap!

I'm grateful of your positive review. This car seems to shine on every possible track where it goes, which means that I've achieved my goal and made nearly perfect all-rounder. Thanks for everyone who bothers to test this car among others.

*Quite a review*

Big thanks for that, it really tells a lot about the car!

As you seem to have found out, it was quite a handful before I got my hands on it. I almost gave up as seemed to be an impossible task to made the car behave, even a bit. :ouch: But then, some things just clicked and it began to handle in a more civilized way.

You're probably right saying it can outrun Group C cars, I haven't tried it but looking at the handling it's very likely. Quite a feat for a road car, even if it was just a legalized version of the race car. And it handles like a race car too, pretty unforgiving as you already know. The bottom line is simple... if you screw up, it'll punish you immediately. If you treat it correctly, it'll give you an unprecedented experience. 👍

And now, I have to bring out one thing that makes me slightly disappointed. there's multiple cars that have just one or two, or maybe even none reviews at all. Thus, I'll put up the links of those cars for some brave and enthusiastic soul who might wander here, looking for something fun to do.

Formula 1 car for the street. That's what the Europa was described to be when it debuted in the late sixties and that's what it still feels like. The unspoken king of sportscar design, Colin Chapman knew that the benefits of low weight could overcome the downsides of low power and he surely was right. The Europa was built as a successor to the immortal Lotus Seven and the fastest factory model around was the Special but now we present you the Super Special, a dedicated track oriented version. Even the chrome bumpers have been swapped for lighter rubber ones in pursuit of extreme handling (not to mention durability in close contact) and it has been worth it. The engine is relatively low powered with only 232 wild horses, but on the other side of the scale the curb weight is down to 664 kilograms. The result is arguably the best handling Lotus ever, a lightweight fibreglass rocket that just seems to have its own laws of physics.

wow, i think i'll test that one...........mine is black and looks a bit more aggressive, but it really seems to be worth testing!

still waiting for that 240 RS:ouch:. i think i have time tonight so i can probably test a car.
and didn't i write a review for the chaser? i know that i tested it.

viperpilot - Believe me, it is. 👍

hemisport15 - You did indeed, but it still falls into the "just one or two, or maybe even no reviews at all" category. If you're going to test something tonight, please consider a less popular model or even be the first one to review the Europa! :)

Nismo R390

Holy...what in the world have you unleashed? A monster? As you have already known, Sarthe II is my "the" track to test any car I buy/tune/abuse. So I went there. At first I was "Autoset 12? WTF?" But then I saw the Final and I was pleased.

This, honest, and sorry Leo, felt a lot better through corners. I mean, the weight helps. The car felt solid throughout the corners and I actually enjoyed the bit-too-excessive oversteer on the car (I drive cars really hard). This oversteer wasn't drifting, nor slding, it was oversteer where the rear was just out enough to go fast. 0-60, 60-0, and 0-200-0 times follow:

0-60: 2.5-2.9 s (It was never the same, ranged from 2.5 to 2.9.)
60-0: 2.6 s (Ridiculous brakes man, I don't know how to do that...)
0-200-0: 16-18 s.

These numbers are approximate, but with over 800 horses, what can you expect? In the long straight, it handled like a dream, and sped too. I went around 220 mph, but unlike many other cars, there were no traces of any kind of oversteer or control loss. Against the R390 Race Car, I really see no difference, at first. I saw the car push past the R390 RC as if it was parked. That's ridiculous. In the corners, probably 5-9 mph faster than the Race Car.

This is one of the cars that were easy to drive when pushed hard and good, but painful when not. At the Porsche Curves, I hit the brakes and turned immediately to get into a small drift, without losing control or getting off track.

This is one helluva machine, and you guys are nutjob tuners (In the good way.) I was most impressed by the creations you've made. Congrats.

-End Review-

I'm gonna test out:

I present my new review type! First, hard, cold figures. Then how the car goes. With pics!

0-60: 2.3 s
60-0: 1.8 s
0-200: 50 s
img0002cb3.jpg

Am I really going 200mph? I didn't notice...
0-200-0: 53 s
img0001sc0.jpg

This R4 is no joke when it comes to braking.
0-Top Speed: 54.5 s
1/4 mi: 11 s
Best Sarthe II Lap: 3'38'258.
img0005pq4.jpg

"Faster, Peter, faster! We're gonna miss Happy Hour! Push 210 mph! Now!"

4WD cars have always been my favorite drivers. Because all four tires are pushing, there's little wheelspin, more acceleration, and better cornering. So what exactly did I expect from the R4? Hmmmm...let's see...

The R4 is agile of the line, taking only 2.3 s to 60. From then on, the car seems to push harder as speed increases. 11 s to quarter mile is practically drag car fast, and that's impressive! But do you see many 4WD drag cars out there? Not many, right? Although the car isn't producing as much HP as the Grim R34per or the Nismo R390, it takes 50 s to get to 200mph.

The brakes? Wow. It only takes 1.8 s for the car to stop from 60, without breaking a sweat. It only gets more impressive as speed increases. It takes a practically-never-before-seen 3 s to come to a complete stop from 200 mph!
img0003lo0.jpg

"Tralalala...Hmmmm...let's see if the brakes wo- ugh! Damn, are these tires dropping sticks on the asphalt?"
"Well, not exactly. Heh..."

What impressed me most is the R4 has the nerve to pull wheelspin on me. The car just officially spoken for itself. It's pretty hard to come across wheelspin on a 4WD car with Racing tires!
img0004am4.jpg

Not something you see on your average 4WD soccer mom car...

The handling is totally new too. I had to adapt to a whole new way of cornering for this car. Say you're going fast -damn fast- into a corner, you don't realize you're going to miss the apex. Well, this car doesn't struggle at all to carve into the apex. This is some handling. I don't really need to type anything else, the pics explain for themselves.
img0006cx0.jpg

Think you pushed it too hard...maybe?
img0007fg1.jpg

"Honey, I wasn't about to miss the apex, alright? Now calm down, let me drive..."

I would test the 240RS in a heart-beat, if it would just show up in the lot :ouch:

Anyways, curiosity got the best of this AWD Specialist, and a Test of the Grim R34per followed, so here's the review Leo.

I built the car from the ground up, following the plans, same color, same wheels, etc, and since the car seemed to be built for GVS, i decided to test it there.

As im tuning the car at the track, i kept having recall's of the "posessed side" of this car, from the glow to the lives it took during development, i decided that it'd be better to not risk it on a full-out run, and instead run what is known as a "Driver Impression" from BMI (Tsuchiya's Impression, etc) , incase this thing is more of a "beast" than i anticipate it to be.

Once the tuning was done, i sat against the pit wall to take a break from standing, and realised that it has been quite a while since i had last been in the driver's seat activily, looking at the GT-R, i wondered if maybe this car had what it takes to re-light the fire of my inner-driver, but as i started to lose myself in thoughts the crew notified me that the car was ready to take-off, they helped me get in and get straped down, told me "don't have too much fun" and let me out on to the track.

I run a warm-up lap and eventually ended up in the 3rd tunnel where only the sunlight lit the tunnel, i passed throught that and headed towards the S-corner that follows, digging my foot into the pedal slightly, thrusting the car forward and my body farther back into the seat, i come to the entrance of the corner, brake, and turn in to the left, and almost had myself a stroke...

But not to say it was a bad thing, oh no... what was happening was my senses picking up an unusual characteristic.

Rewind to me hitting the brakes, after that i went to turn in for the corner, right?, well thats where things got interesting, as i turned my DFP wheel in, the car reacted unusual, but extremely well, the reason being this car has excellent turn-in, it was unbelivable how well it handled turn in, i mean i have never, NEVER driven a GT-R with such great turn-in characteristics, i mean it had such a sharp turn-in that i could have easily drifted it if i wanted, the last thing i was expecting from this car was to see it handle like a MR.

I went through the rest of the S-corner and headed for the straight, digging my foot farther into the pedal, but did it feel like i was digging my foot farther into my own grave ? (this being the R34per and all), i should say not !, this car is well behaved at high speeds as well as in the corners, after letting the excitement settle, i continued to go through the rest of the course until eventually i arrived at the downhill left-hand sweeper that leads to a small straight and into at right-left S-corner that leads into the first tunnel

I came down the sweeper and approached the S-corner, but with a little more speed than i should have, and as i tried to slow the car down with the brakes, i felt the rear end slide out, i went with it through the first half, eventually ending up in the middle of the S-corner in the perfect position to initiate a excellent manuver for the next half, i tap the brakes and counter my steering...

R34PER_2.jpg

And threw the car into an old fashioned "God Foot" styled drift through the entire corner and almost into the tunnel, i could of swore the car knew what i wanted to do before i even thought of it. And for all the laps that followed, the car always seemed to want to drift that corner, Lap 2, 3, 4, like the car knew what i wanted to do each time.

By the time i hit Lap 5, im fully relaxed and back to my old self, driving one-handed, steering and shifting with the same hand, you know, whatever felt good, i found myself really liking this car, if you had told me the car was nick-named the Grim R34per then, i probably would've called you crazy, this car was well-behaved in my hands, eventually i arrive at the infamous "drift it every-time S-corner" and threw it right, then left, i looked up to see the sun bright as ever in the sky, suddenly everything went Zen, and then it hit me.

R34PER_1.jpg

This car is no Grim Reaper, its a Fallen Angel, straight from the heavens

Im still amazed at how well this car performed, and at this high of a caliber no-less, It was a real pleasure to drive guys, really impressive, this GT-R is literally in a class of its own

Keep up the good works guys, you definatly got this Specialist driving again 👍

I can bet all of you that all the less popular cars Leo mentioned are probably the funnestestest of all. The R4 is definitely not a daily driver.

I bought a used 1997 Cerbera just to have the new MFT version of it. First I got the chassis done and a very conservative engine built. 380hp should allow for a good impression of reactions, and demonstrate the flexibility of a setup.

Well. I drove it. 150+mph was the norm around the 'Ring, even at this sedate power level. The car is AWESOME in this spec. It's FAAST, the idea of over 500hp scares me a little. The brakes are great, turn-in is very good, and the car's ability ti "stick" is second to few.

And now for the POWER! *Squirms in fear*

Wow. That's all I can say. Instead of being a wild monster, it eaagerly lunges from corner to corner, just to do it again. Never will this car lose to a german sedan again. Extremely controllable, fast, and AGILE! Wow. This thing needs to be looked at more than its brother, the Griffith.

Awesome job on her, Leo

Is this a Silvia Varietta?

Also, can I ask how you get your credits? Cheaters. :P

And one last thing. Wouldn't it be nice if you stated the original car's name after the new name? I mean, cars like the Chaser don't need it but the 450R I don't really know exactly what car it is.

Greycap,

I just checked the first post for any cars I may have been missing, and realized that the number of cars here is simply staggering. There are so many, choosing one out of the million is very difficult. Below, I have organized the cars in a way which I believe will help it appear a bit less imposing. I was just going to tell you the theory behind it and leave it at that, but then I realized that it really would be a pain to do the actual formatting, so I just performed the formatting as well.

I first divided it into S-Tired cars up top and R-Tired cars down below. Then I subdivided the groups into cars without downforce up top and cars with downforce down below. Finally, I ordered the cars (according to their posted lap times) within the groups by slower cars up top and quicker cars down below.
I wanted the new sorting system to have the effect of placing the slower cars up top and the faster cars at the bottom, but to be a bit more sophisticated than a simple scale of lap times. I decided to use tire type and downforce as sorting factors out of personal habit: Those are among the most important and most telling factors in a tune (In my opinion, at least). I tried to think of a way to incorporate drivetrain, but couldn't incorporate it in a linear and cleanly presentable fashion--other than putting FFs up top, but that takes care of itself anyway.
I just thought it would be a hint more user-friendly. Will you consider applying the new sorting method?

EDIT: ARGH! I thought the code tags would have the effect of not displaying the images! Oh well, it did make it smaller.
