loon - if youre still using gimp, would you care to share some of your blur/smudge secrets with me? i could never find the right combination of opacity and flow rate.

the viper is 👍 x2

I use the motion blur guide in the PS Tutorials thread, its made for doing phototravel blur but it applies to any picture really. And I never mess with the opacity of the blur, I do take a little time to make sure that some of the more prominent lines in the shot flow nicely, like what I did with the crosswalk marks.

I hope that helps some.👍

Wow, this shot looks great:tup:you have done a great job on it, it is really clean and at a great angle:tup:, I like everything else about it(apart from the rims I don't think thats a great combo:yuck:).

cheers

Tommi:)

Thanks Tommi.

New Update!! ENJOY!!

Ever since I saw Franz's Viper shot for the Tourney I've been trying to mess around with the dodge tool. Let me know what you think.👍

I love this picture, and you have got quite the gallery here. 👍
I love the effect this picture has, especially with the music I'm currently listening to. It really pulls you into the picture. Great work I love it! 👍

Well what song are you listening to, you can't just leave me hanging like that.

To be honest, I get lost in music and pictures .. fast, lol. I was listening to Innervision By System Of A Down while I saw that pic, Once again great shot.

Love the Viper on the other page, very powerful shot.

This Subaru looks great too, nice work on the rims, blur, sponsors and decals, all looking great. Only thing is, there's something not quite right with the car's shape. I mean, where you selected it from the background, seem not to flow as neatly as it should, makes it looks (just a bit) pasted on the scenery.

But like I said, other than that, I really like it!

Hmm, not sure why the car looks like that. At that very point in time the car isn't touching the ground, I had just came out of the tunnel and was going over the hump just after it, IDK if that might explain it.

Anyways, hopefully you'll be seeing more of this particular car because I think it's my new favorite ride.👍

ooooh! that has to be the best i've seen from you so far. seems like the tablet's been doing wonders for you lately. great work man!

job well done loon! a bit of channel mixer with the gimp would of made the yellow stand out more, kind of like when i do my integra updates :D but still looking good. i guess you're loving your graphics pen lately? good work man

When I added the color that made it change to a deeper yellow you see could a bunch of imperfections on the hood, so I went the other way with the color, to try and hide said imperfections.

Well I not very happy wit this update, at all. But I spent time doing so I might as well show it to y'all, maybe get a tip or two on what I should do differently.

Cool blur. I'm being sucked by the monitor I think lol. It's evidident you're using Gimp, and that's amazing. The JGTCs you entered in a previous comp is excessive good to be from Gimp. I guess it's powerful too, but the GUI and tools are cheap enough.

not bad for gimp. that's quite awesome as a matter of fact. i love the colors and the tones, makes it look like it came from a magazine. though next time i would suggest to apply a bit of gaussian blur after applying zoom blur, then maybe a little bit of noise just to smooth out the effect. but remember to just use a little bit. still looking pretty good though. i'm thinking of installing gimp again just for toning. i miss the colors that it brings :D for some reason my old one doesn't work anymore. good work on this new one!!

Thanks for the great comments guys.👍

This shot is a little experimental for me. I used a series of guassian blurs to make it fade out smoother. And I used just a partial motion blur. Enjoy.

Thanks Loon! These are awesome, the reflections on all of them look great. Also your the first person I know to make the DB9 off GT4 look beautiful, even when I did it, I failed miserably . This is a great birthday present. So when do you want your thank you letter? :dopey:
