ceiling_fan's pictures -- ZONKERS!!!!!

Your recent shots are looking sweet c_f, I especially like the colour. Nice bright and vibrant, really brings the shots to life.

Keep it up. 👍

dude. Love the Mercedes s-curve shot. The soft focus is just right IMO. I think either shot you would've entered in the s-curves comp would get my vote 👍

:embarrassed: Thanks!

I actually took the Merc shot before PMC 137 came up, and I forgot about it.

Two internets goes to whoever can figure out what track it's on! :P

Apricot Hill?

Looks great, btw. I really like how all the details on the front of the car are sharp and defined. 👍

The track was Motorland. ;)

I've finally cleaned up the gargantuan first post of the thread and relocated the pics to their respective posts. Whew!

I'll do three requests for you guys.

Request 1: Road car vs. Race car (alexwrc)
Request 2: TVR Cerbera (TVR&F_F)
Request 3: "Beast in the Dark (Beerz)

I would like to request the TVR Cerbera please.

My thoughts on your latest update:

You have done great work on the 300 SL.

I'd like to request a "Beast in the Dark". :)

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

TVR Cerbera Speed 12, Requested by TVR&F_F

NSX-R vs Big Brothers, Theme requested by alexwrc

Beerz' "Beast in The Dark" and another picture will be up soon.

Thank you for doing my request, but I must point out when I said I request the Cerbera, I meant the Cerbera 4.2.

Final thoughts:

The Cerbera Speed 12 has a nice angle, but overall the shot is a bit blurred.

I'm going to reshoot all three requests (the Beast in the Dark didn't turn out the way I'd hoped...) I guess I had an off day. But, to hold you guys off until then, a very orange Chevrolet Corvette Stingray!

Corvette At Monaco

Can't wait for the Beast in the Dark. :D

The NSX-R shot has a great composition (imo), but loses a lot of impact because of the blurriness (is that a word?) around the NSX, which looks quite good, btw.
Also, those really bad in-game textures on the road don't help either, and tend to get worse if they're 'exposed' like on the angle you have.

The Cerbera shot has all the potential to be one of those classic shots, with the composition, angle, tones and whatnot, but the blur all over it detracts from the overall feeling, as the human eye naturally looks for sharpness and on that shot it's not found. Like 'error 404'.

The Vette looks really good, but again a bit blurry. Not as much as the others though, which makes it more pleasant, as we can see some good details and the car is generally well defined. I love the lighting and the orange tone of the car, and the background looks the part too on that shot. 👍

Btw, I'm gonna PM you a couple of tips to make your shots look better in a few quick steps. Check your inbox in a few minutes.

A few new pics for you guys. :D

BEAST IN THE DARK - SHELBY GT350

Another GT shot.

TVR Tuscan Speed Six At Nanzenji Temple

Suzuki GSX-R (unedited)

Ford GT40 Race Car At El Capitan

mo4 :P

Very nice batch of shots you got there, mate. 👍

Beast in the dark - Very nice shot with a good composition (although the car's rear, on the left, is a tad too close to the frame's edge). I like the monotone with a slight blueish tint, the lighting is pretty good and the stripes on the car help the whole perspective thing going on there.

Another GT shot - Another GT shot.

j/k

It's really cool, as you can only see the car, tarmac and the sky, and the red car really stands out. Plus, the angle you got the car is one of the best for that car. :)

Speed Six - Very nice shot indeed, I like the whole mood it has, very good composition and the slight desaturation actually worked well on a set that's usually used for very colourful shots (I can't imagine why :D).
also, I thought it was somewhat lacking on the car detail department, so I took the liberty to give it a go (about 5 minutes of dodging here and there), to make the car stand out a bit more.
It's kinda crappy, as it was just a fast go at it, and with the noise you had applied on a final image, it's harder to work these things.

See how you like it:

The Suzuki is a well caught moment, and a great unedited shot. Light came out pretty good on that one, great shot.

Ford GT @ El Capitaniño - Simple shot with little editing, but the overall result is quite pleasant. The light on the car feels incredibly natural.
Only thing is that there's probably a bit too much empty tarmac on the left of the image, it could have worked even better with a vertical-oriented shot.

MO4 - Very nice shot on the Ring, the smoke from GT4 ruins the whole atmosphere a bit, but no biggie. The depth of field is I think perfect for this framing, and the tones are also looking great and moody. 👍

Thank you very much for your in-depth comment! 👍

Regarding the Beast in the Dark shot, it lost a ton of contrast exporting out of PS. I'll upload the PSD later if you want. The weird thing was just the extent of the quality loss.

The GT was from the same session as the one a few posts back, and looking at it again, I might crop out the top a bit and/or decrease the amount of blur.

The Speed Six was probably my favorite shot in the set, I actually applied a Fresco filter on the background (about 10% opacity) which gave the shot a more 'even' color range. I did the same thing with the 300SL shot a few posts back. Thanks for dodging some of the reflections and details, that's something I'll have to use more effectively.

About the Suzuki, it's nice to take pics of the car for a UE comp because it's so well rendered.

I actually felt the same way with the GT40 at Capitaniño with a lot of space on the left side. But I didn't want to crop out the stripes on the road in front of the car 'cause I thought they were cool. :P I might go back sometime and take a shot with a similar theme. And it's another very nicely rendered car. 👍

MO4 was a pretty unusual shot for me, because of the low saturation and very grainy look overall. I want to go back there and take more shots of that car as that was the only shot from the session I liked.

If I may....

very nice set of pics c_f!
The beast in the dark shot is lovely, great contrast, love the rows of lighting too, it sets the whole scene.
The GT shot is simple and clean. Very too the point. The GT stands out a lot.
Fresco filter on the Speed Six huh? Lookin good! It really balanced the whole image, and the car/ location combo is stellar.

Thats my verdict man. Keep em coming. I gotta get on mine. Expect an update from me soon?

Thanks for the comments, Swiss Legend, TVR&FF and alexwrc! 👍

Here was my entry for the Photomode Tournament Qualifier.

I thought the blur was pretty solid for a PMC shot.
