But that, too, is a matter of opinion. A racing game (racer) and a simulator, are in no way mutually exclusive. A racing game for the purpose of immersion and gameplay, does work better if it has the components you've listed. A driving simulation on the other hand, doesn't necessarily need those things. If it provides a closest possible physics to how the vehicle behave when driven, it would then meet the criteria. Of course, if it has the other things, it would be like cherry on a cake but if it doesn't, it is still a simulation.
True but I'm talking in racing simulator terms which is what Ferrari Challenge and Forza 2 are supposed to be. To me Force feedback is a very imortant factor to the driving side of things but compared to the whole package it's not the be all and end all for racing. Which is why I've said elsewhere that I still go back to Ferrari Challenge for a play every now and then for a fix of the brilliant Force feedback and handling, but when I want a racing fix, (which is more often) I'l play Forza2.
What you wanna mean is that you gonna have a shot on Race Pro months in hand before us!!! If not it's pointless to let everybody knows that we have someone here that actually can visit CM's "Headquarters"!!!
Nope I don't mean that at all, I am mearly illustrating the flip side to your statement that not everyone was eagerly awaiting GRiD, some of us knew that it was not going to live up to expectations way before it was released, and it would be pointless to visit Codemasters HQ to play RACE Pro early as the game is being made by SimBin.
Wow for the 3rd consecutive time in the same post you are sooo coool about Race Pro and you Are not "(although I'm not holding my breath)!
Well I get it!!
I've been mentioning RACE Pro a lot because I believe that that game is Ferrari Challenge's main competition. I say "I'm not holding my breath" because I did get excited about the realese of Ferrari Challenge and did (metaphorically) "Hold My Breath" only to be let down by a game that didn't work as it was intended or live up to my expectations.
Now with SimBin's history in mind of them making great racing simulators for the PC, the news of RACE Pro's exclusive XBox 360 release has got me a bit hot under the collar as the news came at a time where I was beginning to lose faith in any game developer releasing any more decent racing simulators.
I've been playing Forza2 since June last year and when GT5P & Ferrari Challenge disappointed me as much as they did, there didn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel for any online racing sims on either console. Now with RACE Pro on the horizon I feel that System 3 need to make sure that Ferrari Challenge is fixed properly and quickly, otherwise IMO they are in danger of losing a lot of potential customers who may go over to the XBox and play SimBin's game instead.
So I'm just mearly pointing out the importance of System 3 getting the patch sorted for Ferrari Challenge before they go rushing into selling us DLC for a game that's not working properly. Which brings us back to the title of the thread:
All I'm saying in my posts in this thread is that I think it's more important for System 3 to fix all of the problems with the original version of this game and get it up to it's potential. If Patch V2 works then I'll be among the first to congratulate them on it (Their feedback on this forum has been very commendable) and I may buy DLC for the game once I'm sure it works (even if I feel it should be free by way of compensation) but I don't see the point in rushing them for DLC when we need their time spent on the patch.
Even you Zedux must appreciate the importance and need for this patch as while I was writing this post, you were starting a new thread wanting to know where PatchV2 is.
