So today I found a interesting news for GT5 and PS Home on an german news site.

http://www.play3.de/2009/06/08/home-bekommt-gran-turismo-space/

So it seems like GT5 is coming SOON to Playstation Home. They say that there will be a direct connection from GT5 to Home,so if we buy a corvette that it will be directly in our home space. Also that the clothes that we buy in Home will be directly available in GT5.There will be also mini games just like EA´s mini racinggame.(don´t know this EA minigame)...

Sounds like GT5 is coming sooner than we think? :)

And also we will get an God of war III demo before the game will rlsd

They've been working on this for some time already. I know it can be done in Japan already. If you go to GT Planet You Tube Channel you’ll see a video of an avy walking through GT world. You can buy race pods and put them in you apartment, summer home or what ever other places you own. You’ll be able to launch from there or GT World.

I wanted to start a thread about this but was told it already existed here so I'll just repost it here.

Okay, since we know that GT5 is going to be featured in Home. What features would you guys like to see in the online vitual world of Home?

Let me start off as I see it since you can buy your own Flat or vacation home you could probably buy a garage and fill it with your cars from your collection in your GT5 game with all your modifications. Second I would like to be able to cruise around the vitual world in any of the cars you own and visit different tuning shops park get out of the car and buy parts from them. Maybe even a bodyshop to get custom paint jobs or body kits. Any other Ideas?

Commenting on what you think about Home integration with GT5 is fine - simply posting "I hate Home" or "Home is lame" is not. This thread is about how Home and GT5 might be integrated, and opinions on that topic are welcome so long as they actually have a point. Save the Home hating for the official PS forums.

Speaking of those, I started a thread on the official PS forums on this topic over a year ago, but it didn't get very far - probably because both GT5 and Home were still a long way from having anything to do with each other. It's a bit different now, and I hope to see more news about it soon...

I think there are huge possibilities, but at the same time, I hope that GT5 doesn't over-rely on Home - personally I'm not sure I'd like to see people using their Home avatars in GT5, for example. However, it will be great being able to host races etc. where you can have a bunch of mates round to either race or watch etc., like a virtual LAN party...

Hmmm, ive been wondering how, if GT5 and Home are interwoven, what will the cars look like, as good as GT5 or less, which would put me right off. Will other users be able to check out our garages, like the trophies?

Home is still Beta, wonder if full version will launch with GT5?

Are SONY holding back the full version back till GT5 launch?

I want Gran Turismo gear at the Playstation Home Mall. I wanna have a racing suit.

If the games that have a home space have it, then of course GT will have one.

Yeah, you can decorate your home with your trophies, helmets, race suits and shoes in your closet. Get dressed up go to your garage pick a car drive around the mall or what ever else they can think of a a local park it let people get in and out of the car pop open the hood check out the custom paint job or mods....LOL like a virtual car show for anybody that plays GT5

I doubt it very much - I reckon they may be holding back on GT5 content until GT5 comes out (obviously!), but there is little to no chance that Home itself is being "held back" for any individual title, least of all a game from a franchise world-renowned for its lengthy preparation...

It will be interesting to see if any content from either Home or GT5 finds its way into the other - at present, they are not in the same league graphically, so I don't know how you could have your GT5 cars as objects in your Home space, or use Home avatars as drivers in GT5...

From the GT Planet Home Club thread:

I too envisioned a GTP space in Home much like the Uncharted and Far Cry 2 spaces, or even more so like the upcoming Red Bull Island space, where the GTP team could create a virtual land using Sony's PS Home Development Kit... perhaps even a custom raceway.

Yeah ive been thinking along the same lines about the graphic side of things, it would be a bit pointless to have GT5 content visible in Home, with sub PD/GT visuals.

Suppose its really just a case of be patient, all will be revealed soon enough!!

I know there is a "things other than cars thread" but from past experiences ideas usually get lost in a matter of days. Second I am not trying to be arrogant with this genius idea. I have talked to many people and even gotten recognition from the community manager of Home on the official US Playstation Forums. I really believe it is a solid idea. Anyways, I would like to know what you think of my concept, so please comment, critique and criticize.

Warning: This is probably never going to happen, but if it did, it would make GT5 the most EPIC racing game ever...

I was playing GT5 and I just thought of a great idea. Ok so, for this idea to work PD and Sony would have to do a lot of HUGE things first: private rooms, Home integration, better connectivity, community features etc. I was thinking that ya know everyone loves to go a watch races, the sound of the engines, the smell of rubber and hot dogs, the girls, the cars, the drivers..., but not everyone can travel to France or Japan or California every year. In GT5 you would go to large events like the 24 hours of Le Mans from Home (PS Home not your own Home). Call it the GT5 Le Mans space. There would be a huge version of the race track in Home that you could explore with your character. Go to the food court, watch videos of a race in real life (maybe even live or stuff like GTTV) playing on TV screens, other people interested in the race walking around, maybe real drivers could make a Home character and you can talk to them, museum, gift shop etc. From Home you can register to take part in a race, which would take place during scheduled times. Once the roster is finalized that group of people can jump into GT5 and begin the race. Not only that but if people want to spectate they could also join the race (join the actual GT5 game) and then they could switch cameras between each driver, the stands, the pits, a helicopter etc. They could chat within the spectator lobby. But here is the kicker (this would be very hard to do for Sony and PD). The actual race in GT5 (mentioned above) would then be broadcasted over the internet, to Home on the TV screens. (I think Home now has integration or at least the frame work to be connected to the web) Le Mans is just one example but this idea could be applied to any race (imagine rally!). Winners of Sony sponsored races could win prizes for Home and or real life. It could be a space you may have to pay to enter but hell I would pay almost any amount of money for a feature like that. I could go on and on... This idea is big and is dreaming but I think that if Sony and PD are willing to put in the time and money it could happen.👍

I think this is a great Idea and knowing what we know now and Kaz saying himself that online is going to be huge AND they have a new office just for online, this is completely possible.

Something like this (although yeah, not exactly like this or as grand) might happen. Remember, SONY loves to make a fuss about their -big- exclusives. They've made a lot of fuss about Killzone, Warhawk, Resistance 2 and Uncharted 1/2. They've added home spaces and competitions and a lot of other cool stuff for these games... And they did make a lot of fuss when GTPSP came out. Who knows? maybe we'll get something like this in the future.

ok... sounds nice. But i think we do have a priority list when the questions is "Sony and PD willing to put in the TIME ( moreee??? ) and money" in something... and a home "amazing GT Place " its not kind the first one...

It would be awesome. But, I'm pesimistic with this, if PD had done something so big like this they would've announced it already. Still, dreams are the only thing left...

We all know that KY is keeping somethin held back to blow our minds. You are right, all they have left us with is dreaming about what could be and not alot of info on what IS.

Nice idea but its not GTA4 and I don't want to go around eating fake hotdogs and look at people,I want to race and quickly get to the first corner thats is why so many people are asking for quick menus but you seem to be interested in other activities than racing.

It's a nice idea, but I couldn't see it happening with the whole walking around thing.
I would like to see it in, but i wouldn't get too hopeful.

I thought that was the whole point of home, people with common interests meet up in some sort of themed space, and then you can talk to them and say, "Hey, wanna take a Dodge Viper for a spin around Laguna Seca and see who's fastest?" at which point it jumps straight into GT5.

I think this was Sony's idea, they just have't implemented it fully yet.

The truth is the way Home is now, a space to socialize, is really lame. I do not want to talk to my friends and listen to all the other idiots around me. Give me private chats where I can select a group of friends and just listen to them.

Clubhouse?

The racing association I race with regularly in GT5P use Home for driver meetings before the events. We all go to the clubhouse to discuss the event settings in private.

Or you could just go to the movies in Home featuring a live race like F1 and sit around with a bunch of people to chat with.

Wow this thread came back from the dead... yeah if I do say so myself it is a pretty good idea :sly:

I will take it a step further... GT Academy is perfect for Home. Imagine being able to watch the final/qualifying races, live, within home. Or being able to talk with the finalists within home about their experience. Or being able to watch the top lap times looping on a big display. Hell it does not even have to be GT Academy it could just be the GT5 leader boards.

Home was one of those ideas that sounds great in theory, but in practice is pretty much a complete waste of time. I tried Home when it first launched and after enduring the initial downloads, installations, and having to wait to play any of the arcade games, got bored rapidly. I tried it again a few weeks later, and all it consisted of was people dancing around like idiots, and people talking trash like little kids do in chat rooms.

It does absolutely nothing that cannot be achieved by a combination of the existing XMB and in-game lobbies. SONY would have been wiser to invest that time and money in the PSN infrastructure and games development.

I've had the same experience with Home and haven't used it for over a year, maybe it's better now but I doubt it.

GT5 will have Home integration, hopefully it will be worthwhile but it's not likely really. The clubhouse idea is pretty good but I think there can only be about 30 members to a club, if there could be a GT Planet space only for our members that might be good.

The menu system for most online games works pretty well as you can quickly choose what you want to do and then chat in the lobby before the game starts, I'd be happier doing that than using Home.

I dunno if someone else has already meantioned this, i couldn't be bothered checking through everbodies posts..
BUT! if they did make a virtual track, they could put them GPS things that they have recently talked about in the cars and have the race happening infront of you, but virtually! Sure there would be a bit of a delay, but how mint would that be!! You could watch BTCC from your virtual chair in home!

Yeah, or imagine your own personal space being extended with a garage where all your cars from GT5 are stored. Then you can walk around them with your friends and talk about the cars you own. And each time you acquire a car, your garage gets bigger.

I like that idea, but when you have a garage of like 400 cars, it might be a bit too big, perhaps the car that you are currently in on Gran Turismo can be in your garage. I think that would be pretty cool having a Ferrari 458 Italia in yo' crib!
