I downloaded the SuperGT mod a few hours ago, and the "Read_Me" that accompanies it isn't in the best of English, I've never installed/extracted a mod for GTR2 and was wondering how to do so.

Thanks, in advance.

Hmm.

It would be better to go to some GTR2 forums,

But I did mods with rFactor, I think it might be similar

The files that you downloaded, they have to be moved by had each folder from the DL to the GTR2 folders. For example.
Plugin Folder from DL should go to Plugin folder in GTR2
Locations from DL to Locations folder in GTR2
and so on.... thats how rFacotr works whenever game does not support auto install feature. Hope that helps a bit.

Where did you get the Super GT mod? I'd love to know where I can get or could you at least e-mail it to me.

Also, I'm very interested in doing some Modding and in particular, sound modding. Anyone care to tell me how to get started?

I just did a warm-up lap around Road America with the BMW V12 LMR and good grief, clearly someone thought ripping the sound from GT4 was gonna make the BMW sound like a real car . I intend on rectifying that :sly:

I just started playing GTR 2 yesterday (a bit late to the party, I know ) but I'm going to try a few of these mods to see how I like them.

I just came up with idea for a little Hot Lap competition on GTR2 this week. Obviously, it'll will require the Super GT Mod (and certain tracks). This will involve two cars and two tracks from the recent CES demo of GT5. They are:

Petronas Tom's SC430 '08 - Fuji Speedway

ARTA NSX '07 - Indianapolis Road Course

What do you guys think? Would any of you be interested? Maybe if this goes well, we could have a GTR2 version the WRS with different tracks and different cars from different mods.

Does anyone know where I can find templates for GTR2? I've gotten very interested in painting some and would like to know(assuming they are there) where to find them.

There are some templates at nogrip, but it really depends on the mod as to whether there were templates released or not. You could try the homepage of the development team for them too.

And just found this site http://www.archeoskins.com/

I've also got a guide that you can use in order to get the skins into GTR2. I'll need to upload it when I get home from work.

In case anyone is interested, come sign up for my new series here. Entries will be continually accepted throughout the year.

There are a few ways to do it. First is manual which is the easiest in my opinion. Most mods that I have seen simply state to "copy all files into X:\GTR2 and allow all overwrites", whether it is in English or not. Some of the mods out there have other files which you need to place in the sound or team folders, but for the most part you just simply place the contents into the gamedata folder in your main directory and allow it to overwrite.

If you still have some problems and/or plan on installing more Mod's in the future than I would suggest maybe getting some Mod installers so you do not have to do it manually every time:

Generic Mod Enabler:
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html

The nice thing about the Generic Mod Enabler is that you can install and remove mods at the touch of the mouse. You install the installer onto an unmodded game then install your mods. After that, and before you enter GTR2, you choose which mod you want to run. Just a few clicks and it is done. There was another Mod installer that has been around for sometime called the Modman which is fairly popular with the GTR2 fans. I've used it before and found it quite easy:

ModManager:
http://www.checksix-fr.com/bibliotheque/index.php?page=detail&ID=4100

Hope this helped. If this didn't help tell me what's happening and I'll try and help you out. I've been through 50+ mods in the past, only a few of them stood the test of time. I just uninstalled GTR2 so I could make room for more LFS stuff (don't hurt me :nervous: ). My favorite mods were Porsche Supercup 2009, ProjectD - RWD Drifting and The Power & The Glory (of course!). Check those out if you don't have 'em yet.

This is not what I'm looking for:

So can anyone help me out?

Your pics don't work.

Do you mean this mod?

Yes, that one (assuming thats the car mod and not just the skins).

Edit: Found out that was skins for the Doran, but I googled it and got it so I figured I'd get the skins too. Thank goodness I won't need those Protoracer cars, they aren't exactly the most visually appealing cars I've seen.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one that feels this way, but I absolutely hate Sebring on GTR2. Every single version I have found, including Sebring 08, is terrible and even the cars that are the most easiest to drive with the grippiest settings at other tracks barely have any sort of grip here. Seems every car I drive has this annoying tendency to pull to the left and the frame rate is annoying as its painfully slow in some parts, then ubruptly speeds up. It feels more like a skating rink then it does a track. Does anyone know wher I can find a much better one or at least how to fix the problem I'm having with this one?

On a lighter note though, I got back on GTR2 a few days ago. First thing I thought was "I'm gonna drive the Audi R10 and Peugeot 908" and immediately, I wondered "has anyone made the Audi R15 for GTR2?". So I searched on nogrip and bingo, there it was. First track that I wanted to try just to see what its like was Paul Ricard, one of Four tracks I downloaded about a month ago but never got to. I drove the Audi R10, The Peugeot 908 and the Audi R15 around it and the results were interesting given they were my first ever laps around it:

Audi R10 TDI: Abit of a Beast when you get on the power coming off a tight corner and sometimes a handful to turn in some fast sections. Seems delicate driving works best. Its ok to drive, just requires some manhandling in some sections and some delicate throttle response.

Peugeot 908 HDI: Just when I thought the Audi was brutal, this car was even moreso. Seems I have to manhandle it more around corners and acceleration out of the slow corners is tricky to get right as its the worst at being tail happy and adding to the difficulty is it has a strange tendency to pull to the right on the straights which has led to some rather jerky driving. Even more smooth driving is required with this.

Audi R15 TDI: Given the brutal nature of the other two cars, I was expecting to have another fight on my hands but that was not the case with this car. It reacts much like the lighter LMP2 cars and doesn't give me as hard a time. Top end was a unpleasant surprise though as it was pretty much glued to 5th gear around 175 MPH and got nowhere near the speed the R10 and 908 did. A good handling car, just wished it had more speed as well.

So there you have it, my overall impression on the Diesels. Might have to start doing this for some more cars now that I'm feeling giddy for GTR2 again. Hopefully, the HSV-10 will be completed sometime soon.

Looked around and found this download called "Silverstone Collection". This apparently is a set that comes with the GP cicuit as well as the GT, Club and 1975 Configurations. Other then some sponsor changes and what feels like maybe slightly abit more grip, there was not much difference in the this version compared to the one I had before after taking a few laps in the DBR9. Still waiting for a better version of Sebring, but I don't have much hope left after going through five versions and not very satisfied with any of them. :indiff:

race car - did you get the alms 2007-2009 from nagp or the jpbs mod and merged it with the audi r15 mod?

I have not done that but I did notice when going through the mods, it appears under "American Le Mans 2009" and "24 Hours Le Mans 2009".

As far as I know, the don't care where you're from.

After clicking on "register" I received a message stating:

"You are not authorized"

http://www.esport-racing.de/ is another site, but some of the mods there are "unauthorised"...

Thanks!

Time for some more mods!

Anyone find any good Caterham mods?

EDIT: I can't register on these German forums. Every time I try I get an error message.

;)

Weird. I can see it now. Yet, if I close the browser, and go there, it won't let me register. Very odd.

Anyway, registered now. Still can't register for esport-racing...

Too bad I can't seem to register. When I do I get a German Error message (my German is very rusty).

;)

Hang in there. I'm uploading the Caterham mod to my webspace. I'll PM you the link when it's up.

Anything else you want? :D

EDIT: You can get V1.0 at pilsbierbude. I'm uploading V1.1.
