NFS-Shift GTP Racing League Season II

RULES (Updated for Season 2):
To keep things fair a few rules are necessary.
· All drivers must use Pro Handling mode. We know what to look for, and it is not difficult to spot when people are driving in Experienced or Normal difficulty mode and you will be ejected from the group for cheating.
· No Driving Assists: No traction, stability or steering assists. If you want to use ABS braking that’s up to you.
· No cutting corners and chicanes. At least 2 tires should remain on the track at all times (unless of course you are in the process of wrecking your car in which case, have at it!). We can’t obviously enforce this rule in most cases, but try to keep the car on the track.
· Use of Nitrous is OK: Unless forbidden for a particular race
· Restart Rules: In the event that a driver(s) gets disconnected from a race within the first three laps, the race will be restarted. After three laps the race must continue to it’s finish. A race may be restarted only twice for disconnects to keep League sessions a reasonable length.
· Bump Rule: Any driver bumped from the server after the half-way point of a race will receive points equal to the position he occupied when he was disconnected. –Or- The driver may instead choose to re-run the race during the Sunday Make-up Race.

[*]If you make contact with another car forcing them off the track, you must slow down and allow them to retake the position in front of you.

Due to online lag and vague collision detection in Shift, it is very possible to accidentally make contact with another car and not be aware of it. Please show patience and restraint in the event of a collision. We all try to race clean, so give each other the benefit of the doubt.

Rules Enforcement:
For future races (2/20/10) when it is brought to the attention of the League Organizer (me) that someone advanced their race position through contact, the errant driver will forfiet his final race position and be placed in a finishing position behind the person he contacted.

It is up to the driver who was run into to lodge a complaint against another driver. It is not my intention to look through the videos to find out who did what to whom. The complaint must be PM'ed to me and the errant driver by noon on Sunday.

All racing incidents are different. Some occur because of faults in the game like poor collision detection, car location mapping and internet lag, but these will affect us all impartially so the rule will be applied strictly.

I just cannot believe that I've miss so many great races, and i have couple questions.

1. Could i join to your league?
2. If YES, then what should i do to join your races? Is there any casting? Or should i do some lap times? What are the criteria to join this League? Because i didn't find them in those RULE BOOK.

I've read all the rules and i have to say this is exactly I've been locking for. I'm using wheel, Driving Force Pro. I'm not that fast but I'm still learning. I'm using PRO set up for handling mode and automatic Gearbox.

1. Yes you can join the league

2. There is no tests to join the league but we do like people who want to join to do a couple of practise nights with us, this is to get a feel for the way you drive against others.

Add us to your friends list and we will invite you to a couple of practise sessions

Guys a true storm is coming down on my country-red alert for the hole territory-and due to that power keeps failing (about 30 times since this morning) i was trying to play dirt2 but quitted before the power failures damage my ps3 :grumpy:

So i'll be joining the races tonight but if this doesn't get better and the power keeps cutting of maybe i have to join the make up races tomorrow-it's going to be crowded so it seems...

Just wanted to apologize for my somewhat spotty participation here in the last few days. It feels like I've been fighting off a virus or something. No energy, can't get enough sleep, etc. Still feel rather spent, but better than yesterday. I can't help thinking it has something to do with this endless winter and all the snow. Hurry up Spring!!!

As far as the several notes and postings from the prospective new League members. As SteveO said, yes you can join, after we get a feel for how you race, but it's impossible to get you guys into this weekend's races. Plan to be on the roster for next weekend after some practice sessions.

hey guys i am the same i dont feel well at all so i will not be pulling out any good performances i feel just too dam drained of energy it feels horrible holding my arms up on the wheel.

Hog is correct colds are everywhere at the moment, since Christmas I think I have only been "totaly well" for about a week. Feeling a bit better today mind you, just picked up my new mg zr WITH STRIPE, and racing tonight!!!

Actually books are one thing I seem to be really in to right now. I just read Brazen Chariots by Major Robert Crisp for the third time. Probably the single best personal account of British armored warfare in Africa in WW2. Now I'm reading Desert War by Alan Moorehead which covers the whole British effort in the Med and Africa... I'm sort of a history geek.

sorry i pussed out at the last race i just couldn't hack another race my head was booming my eyes hearting and my bones aching my shoulder muscles felt like they were ripping off the bone near the end of the second race i had to give my self a shake and keep pushing or SHAM would have had me.

the 1st race arvore deliberately sabotaged me in the beginning and i think i should get all his points for the season :lol:

the second race my reactions were to slow i tried multiple attempts to take out Ricky but i kept messing up sorry for the nudge mate.

now i am going to my bed to moan and feel sorry for my self hopefully i will be in better heath tomorow for the re race

had a great night i knew if manny got held up i had a chance in them all
race 1 i was flying manny got got caught up on the 1st lefr and i pulled a 6 second lead at lap 4 the the DC hit me rerace tomorrow for that one

race to was DC hell everyone going for it. jonesy was on a mission till the DC great run there mate i never expected that. on the final resart manny got caught up again so i knew i was in for a chance and just kept going. wasn't expecting a pole but pulled it off thanks to manny and femki having there own battle behind me. collette couldn't race tonight so stevo's 6 year old nephew raced instead it seems :lol:

race 3 femki was in the TT which i raced at ambush and was hoping he was still on the same settings, nephew was in the pink cossie which had suffered stinger damage to the tyres. and manny was in a old yank. yes there was my threat fight there i had my start planned
set the ratio's so 6th was usable geared for 135mph this way i could pull away in 2nd with a little squirt of nos and gett out the way pulled into 1st knowing that manny was going to be 2 seconds a lap quicker and hunt me down. i watched as he ate my lead to my bumper on lap 8 and powered past, spun on lap 9 to pull a happy 2nd

Yeah, femki and I were definately having a battle on RA. I think we got to a point where we spun each other and then it was... "Please go ahead" and "No, no you first" and " No please, after you"... :lol:

until there was no chance of either of us catching you.

I made a lot of mistakes in the last two races this week due to a major lack of practice, but had a good time anyway. 👍

Maybe it was the Ferraris Princess on the wheel this time i could hear her in the room in a after event's lobby-in which i was D/c and thought ok it's over for tonight-and i was almost close to getting her number...but then i remembered Stevo's outreageous age :lol:
