"An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PLAYSTATION Network (8002AA08)"

I've been getting these errors during the last couple of weeks, sometimes working all day, sometimes up to five errors per day. It's just "a bit" irritating to be chatting with a friend over the network and the headset goes silent with no warning.

It's also happened to both of us with a pretty much 50/50 rate so it very unlikely to be a hardware problem. I have a 60GB launch PAL machine, my friend has a 80GB PAL machine from early summer 2008. All settings are correct, I have Media Server search disabled after the first few disconnections and that didn't even make any difference contrary to the Internet beliefs. The PS3 is connected to the world outside through a Buffalo AirStation router which again is connected to a TeleWell VDSL2 modem. Both wired connections, no WLAN. Oddly enough my computer is connected to the very same hardware and experiences zero problems so I doubt it's a network hardware problem either.

Just hiccups on the PlayStation Network, a possible bug in the software version 3.15 or something else? All guesses are as good as anything I can come up with.

I had a quick google search for you and found nothing pertaining to that error code, so at a guess I'd say its because you've been thinking about Forza 3 lately because of GT5's continued delays... :D

Seriously though I'd be contacting your ISP, see if perhaps there is something they can check at their end. I know here I was having connection dropouts fairly regularly, and all I had to do was contact the ISP and they changed something at their end and its been rock solid since.

I had this problem when I first bought my PS3 too. What I did is go to Network Settings and turn the Media Connection option OFF. Never did it signed me out again. I hope this help.

Don't do this if you stream media from your PC obviously... :)

I've posted this list of PS3 codes before a very looong time ago in another thread.

Here it is again. Maybe your error code is in the list?

peter_vod69 - Forza 3... *shivers* nah, I'm playing GT4 anyway. But no, contacting my ISP is out of the list. I have a different ISP from my friend, we live in different parts of the country, and as the last nail to the coffin there is this:
Oddly enough my computer is connected to the very same hardware and experiences zero problems so I doubt it's a network hardware problem either.

HN7 - Done with no effect as mentioned.
I have Media Server search disabled after the first few disconnections (...)

horde_r35 - Sounds good for me, good in that it's not dependant on my hardware or software. Perhaps PSN just has decided to take a nap every now and then.

kikie - Thanks for the list but no joy, it isn't included.

I began wondering about the TCP ports but then again, if I had ports closed that would need to be open I doubt it would work at all.

Is your PS3 in your routers DMZ list?

I know that solved every connection issue I had, so its worth a go.

Scaff

I know that solved every connection issue I had, so its worth a go.
Same here, got fed up with having to open two to five ports for each game I have, so I figured it wouldn't be a real issue to just open them all. ;)

This happens to me every now and then - the other day it spent 30 minutes doing it... then stopped again.

I can only assume that it's not at the local end...

C.

Worth a go indeed. I just added it to the list, we'll see how it goes tonight.

EDIT - It didn't go. Too well that is, a few faultless hours but then it threw me out again.

I have a error too. Its 8001050F. Whats that mean? Anyone guess?

I just started getting that error today too. Sadly the only information I can find on it is that it is a hardware problem that dosnt seem to let you connect to PSN. You might be able to go online with the console no problem but you wont be able to login to PSN. Usually due to a failing Blu-ray drive and the only way to fix it is by sending your console in. I dont want to do that seeing as i have a original 60GB system and if I do that i dont want them sending me back a replacement system that isnt a 60GB since I do use the backwards compatibility. The only other way of fixing it would be to replace the part that has failed or is failing and if its the Blu-ray then thats something you can repair yourself by buying one off ebay.

I doubt it, check the other thread about it.

The usual stuff:ouch:! Can it be the same reason, about we crashing and falling to connect too? The servers are bad and we all know it, but can it mean that it is bad to the point that they cant hold our connection? :yuck::crazy:

I've got a similar problem just now. It appears to be more severe. Last night I was still playing HEAVY RAIN offline in my room, without internet connection. Today when I fire up the game, it said there's an error in the game's trophy. A moment later, I found out the trophy list of HEAVY RAIN was gone! and the system time and date went back to 1/1/2000!

I'm wondering what on earth is happening.. and my friend just called me on phone saying he's having the exact problem with Pro Evolution Soccer 2010.. the trophy list of the game suddenly disappeared! The situation is so weird..! How could the system possibly go wrong without connecting to the internet?! :scared:

EDIT: the error code here is 8001050F. I brought my PS3 back to the living room and connect it to the internet, when I go to internet connection test from the setting menu, it shows that the internet connection is fine, except PlayStation Network got an error.

OMG, this is the most weird situation I've ever encountered! :scared:

Everyone with an Original PS3 (fat) has it, take a look here PS3 PSN loggin error

Not everyone with a Fat PS3 has it, I don't have the problem (and have a launch 60gb) but my nephew does. Sony are well aware of the problem and are working hard on it.

I do hope this problem could be fixed asap.
The thing I concern most at the moment is able to keep my trophies. Just now I tried to play offline in GTA IV, it works, but the trophy list (of GTA IV) disappeared. Should they be there again once I can login PSN? :nervous:
