1.) understeer- the tendency to turn LESS than what is intended.
2.) newtons 1st law of physics states that an object will stay in motion, in the same direction and at the same velocity unless a stronger force acts upon it.
Let's face it, a car with the engine in the front AND driven by the front wheels alone is fine. If you are going to the store, or picking your kids up from school. But when you start to push these cars past what the engineers ever dreamed they would do, you run into the two fundamental problems above.
Dragging a car around a race track by it's front wheels, is less than ideal. Every time you accelerate the weight is shifted back OFF the drive wheels. Limiting traction and lifting your inside wheel during cornering. Ideal? No. Impossible? Nope. You just have to be clever.
I could write individual posts about each car, but why? At the end of the day, whoever circumvents physics the most will be the winner. It's that simple. Fool science, stick your middle finger up at gravity and friction, be the champion.
That being said, very few of these setups would work in real life. These cars would leave all their power on the track in the form of long black streaks, or nose dive into tire barriers and sand traps. The beauty of this exercise however is that this ISN'T real life. These tunes don't HAVE to perform like real cars. Each person here has their own approach to making these very similar ( on paper) cars go fast.
That is the real reason I wanted to participate in this. And I wasn't disappointed. Each car was an extenuation of it's creator and a representation of how they drive. Every tune was unique and I was forced to take 20 different approaches to to tackling a track that I've been racing since the inception of this game. I thank you for that.

There ya have it! Nice work every one. And to be fair I drove the same number of laps with EVERYONES car. (11) . If I had more time with each Im sure I could've knocked another second off of each. Time wouldn't allow it however, everyone did a great job and it really came down to splitting hairs here. All these cars would be effective on this game.
I'd like to that the organizers of the event, and all the other participants for allowing me the opportunity to get inside your heads a little bit.
Be well, and god speed.
