I also got the same email that I was accepted as a tester.

My email says they'll be sending it out in a few days. The deadline for testing is Feb 15, 2008. So we should all have reviews/pics/videos by then. (assuming they send out the wheel)

They have provided very detailed instructions on how to post the reviews on forums, and videos on youtube, so there shouldn't be any of this "wheel in hand" mookery.

So lets wait and we'll see how this wheel pans out.

i understand how sketch i look, but to be honest i need to borrow a camcorder. -_- fixed the photo. =( im letting everyone down..
I will have it when I can, i know you guys want to choke me until you get answers..
but i can try to answer some questions for now?

a question hmm

how about:

what are your first impressions of wheel, and how does it compare to other wheels like g25, if you have experiences with that one.

i own a xbox, dream cast, ps2, snes, psp, gba, ds, gp2x, n64, GC and ther crap.
rather get a PS3 then a 360 cuz i trust sony more with there systems.....not psp thought to many updates

remember .. SONY is more envirmoental friendly as well.. MIcrosoft and Nintendo are very way on the bottom of the chart..

if u graded from scale 0-10 sony was a 7 (or was it a 8)
Nintendo and Microsoft was at low 2 and below :grumpy: damn evil companies

My testing unit from Fanatec should arrive in a week. I will do a direct comparison with the G25 once it arrives.

Can't you just post a picture? surely it takes 10 seconds to take a pic and then put it on the computer?

Preferably with user name in the pic....

Glad I haven't picked up a G25 yet !... So - Guess a "Thank you" is in place ;)

Stop being a fanboy Gabkicks:P Doesnt change the build quality.

i am not being a fanboy. the fanatec and g25 both showed up as combined axis in that video, which means he probably didn't have the ffb set up properly as well. Not all pc games are just plug and play when you first plug them in. I'm probably the farthest thing from a fanboy on this forum.

I don´t know but from the review I got the feeling cdcdude mostly runs racing games on his PS 3 mostly :). Oh and the little I run LFS it´s tons of settings for the FFB to adjust and it still feels weird since the FFB is on the rear wheels...

now I will of course test this when I get mine but Race 07, GTR 2 and rFactor with real feel would be better tests since the G25 feels awesome in those titles.

As for the arcade titles I think since they are pretty much made for rumble and have FFB as an afterthought often that that helps the 911 RS with it´s vibration engines... You can simulate that through the FFB motors as well :).

As for build quality that is something you can´t test in a week but it sure looks the stuff :). G25 hasn´t been enough long enough really... Though as expected I have heard some that have braked their gearboxes as you could expect.

what do you mean the ffb is on the rear wheels? lfs doesnt use canned ffb effects like other games. i wonder if there is any noticable lag since it's wireless., and how the ffb is when set up properly.

Yes the FFB you feel in the wheel is from the rear wheels as in most games you get them from the front wheels :). Probably because it gives you more information for slides but it´s quite weird if you aren´t used to it

what are you talking about lmao. where did you read this? the ffb is from the steering column. where did you read that the ffb is from the rear of the car?

hmmm yes in a real car... in racing simulations you get the data directly from the tires. Mostly on the front tires but some as LFS on the rear tires as mentioned.

Think about it the next time you run LFS you will see the light lol.

I was only joking. But I guess if he was using combined with both then it was still a equal test really.

Hello.

I have two questions about the wheel for cdcdude, questions not included in the wheel´s official faq:

· Has the pedals holes for screws in the base?. I see its in the wheel base, and I know it hasn´t in the shifter, but I don´t know if I could fix the pedals to my cockpit using screws.

· What are the dimesions of the base of the pedals?.

Thank you very much for your response. Get a gretting.

I have one additional question, for anyone who may get a wheel before the one I pre-ordered arrives ;-) Especially if you're in Europe/UK or have access to a PAL version of Formula One CE on the PS3. There is a FFB-patch for F1CE PAl version only for the time being, unfortunately. It will work fine in a US PS3, and we're hoping they bring the patch to the NTSC/US version soon. It enables force feedback on the game for the G25 and DFP, but the official FAQ from Fanatec doesn't show this force feedback update info for F1CE. I've been following this http://community.eu.playstation.com/showthread.php?t=127700 and http://community.eu.playstation.com/showthread.php?t=192328 So anyway, I have a wheel on the way in the next week or two, but I 1) don't have a PS3 yet, and 2) don't want to order the PAL version of this game just quite yet for $80 or so until I get reports from someone who has one and the 911 wheel, ideally. I'm thinking that Fanatec reports this FFB works with pretty much anything that supports FFB on a G25 on the PS3, so hopefully it will work as the FAQ/supported games list was made prior to this FFB patch for the game. Any info, please advise. For example, I wonder if this wheel appears to be the same drivers as the G25 to the PS3? I have rFactor but never really got deep into PC racing, but will try the wheel out on that pending more info on the F1CE question. Also of course there is GT5-Prologue which will push me over the top into getting my own PS3, but I think I'll wait for the US version in March.
