Since this is the first GT5:Prologue thread about the Ferrari F430 Challenge, I'm going to ask:

Could you please be more specific?

(Also, please use proper grammar and spelling, no chat-speak or lazy choices of spelling, made-up abbreviations...as per your agreement of the Acceptable Use Policy when agreeing to use the forums.)

First, you should set the traction control to off.
Then, you should drive into the pit entry and use it as a shortcut (making sure you don't go on the grass, as this will slow you down.)
You will have to ram other cars out of the way through the turns.
At the final straight, you have to shift down to 4th and cut the corner to get a very big advantage. If done properly, you should get at least a bronze.

Well that is a great example of how you should behave in Prologue as a GTPlanet member 👎 I surely hope many guys will read your explanation and learn from it how to get thru the game :grumpy:

Mods, can this guy be banned please? :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

This is pure gold (or is it bronze). I suppose it'll get people through the license, and though I have seen the ramming portion in action during touring car races, I hope it isn't carried over into online races.

Practice makes...practiced.

should i tweak the tc etc

Why on this big round earth would you be replying to a thread that's 1 year and 8 months old :confused::confused:

And as for your description on how to complete the challenge 👎 👎 👎

The response to the advice about getting a bronze just confirmed to me again this is a great forum full of people who want to do things the way I'd like drive.

I am by no means an expert but this is a difficult Challenge so hopefully the following will help:

I really struggled with this one, so I went to Arcade and practiced. I reckon you need to be able to do a 1.57 (pro/aids off) before you have a chance at Bronze. Lap tips:

- third gear for the first corner, and don't brake at max as otherwise you can't turn
- late-apex the second corner and run out wide for maximum acceleration
- LH kink can be taken flat out
- third gear for the right-handers, and you'll need to slow down to hit the apex which is a long way around the corner
- third gear again for the LH onto the banking
- 4th through the Bus Stop
- the F430 responds well to being smooth. It is not a car to be thrown around.

Once the laptimes are sorted then the Challenge itself:
- I have yet to find the perfect way around the first corner but going up the inside works. However, it is easy to arrive at the corner too early before the last car opens up the gap on the inside. You need to take at least one car around this corner, maybe two.
- After that it's relatively straightforwards if you have the inherent speed on the track. If you don't...back to Arcade until you do.

When I first completed the game I scraped a bronze. I then came back after completing all the races and lowered my laptime from I think 1.55.8 to 1.53.8 very easily. I then tried the Challenge again and easily managed a bronze, and with some effort, a silver. The point of this is that if your inherent speed is not there go away and practice till you are quicker, then come back. This has worked for me on every Challenge in GT5P. You won't learn how to go quicker with 16 cars on track, you'll need the peace of the Arcade mode. I must admit I did bump one car on my way to Silver but only a little ;-)

Hope that helps and if anyone has managed a Gold on pro and without doing silly cheats I'm all ears.

Thanks Raceur, your tips have helped and though I am still to get through this lap as winner your tips have reduced my lap times.
Some of us need this kind of help and advice.

Brakeing was most dificult for me. Once i stoped flying wide on this flat track and figured out the best places to draft I improved greatly. Now I love this track, even turn #1.
