So I'm willing to pull off to the side at the start of the races to stay out of your way guys. If this is ok, if not then let me know. I know my connection isn't fixed yet, but I will race at the back and let you all go through no matter what position I start from. VW is my choice of car, Corolla is fast but VW is stable and predictable. I don't want to get into anyone or get in anyone's way. But I'm trying to get the races under my belt. I do wanna compare my times to you to see if I practiced enough, if not I could use it as another practice session. Treat me as a backmarker if you want. I just want to see if I can keep a steady pace.

Next time you can go on after a situation like we had with the S2000. It was a simple contact!
For first I didn't understand why were you brreak and let me go.. I didn't feel anything, just when I saw back my vid (a very small touch on my end).
I can say, You've raced very gentle!👍

Shark, nice runs mate! I was laughin' loud when we raced side by side in donington.👍 It was so fun!

And sorry Lefty about my words after race 1..:boggled:
I'm sure the strange situations was because some lag... I hope there will be no problem about that. And congrat for your fastest lap man! Finally you did it! (I was not able to go as fast and without mistakes with that Honda).

Try to switch the detail to 480P and see them in small window..

Please try to compare my vid and Shark's of the GT2 race in lap 6.... it is interesting..

Another great weekend of racing, gentlemen!!

Great job to everyone racing this weekend! It was great fun as always, and some close racing, too!!

I'll tell ya guys, that GT2 cup race was my worst race within this league so far! I kept up with Shark and Mo for about two laps...and then something happened! I couldn't help losing 1-2 seconds per lap on you guys! I learned two things in that race- One, I need to learn how to drive that car better. Two, DO NOT park in the middle of the track LOL!

The touring car races went a bit better, though. While I remember Left mentioning that the 2000GTR was a wheel-spin machine, I had that same exact problem with the Corolla, but not the Skyline! Tell ya what, though- I thought grabbing 112s here and there was fast!! I saw 110's and 111's being dropped left and right!

As for the pogo-stick car, I can't say I remember too much about the race...aside from Shark passing me and me watching my mirrors the rest of the time!

On to the S2k. I have to admit, although I took up last place the majority of the time, I had the most FUN in that race!! Mo, my apologies for the badly placed move on my part. As soon as it happened, I regretted it! I had figured you were waiting for your 'point by' for my bump, you figured you'd get into my slipstream on the straight....que the incident! Hope there was no contact in that 'bonzai' pass near the end, too!

Slow Cars+Great Drivers= Great Fun!

As I'm sure you all can notice, I'm still figuring out that balance between driving aggressively for passes, and staying clean. While that may be the case, I assure you all that I will be getting better with that as time goes on!

WOW talk about alternate realities, on lap 5 at the 180 of the GT2 race your vid shows Shark jumping into the screen as I squared the corner. Man was that something that was news to me. In my world my vid shows that I might have just dusted of your front bumper but your vid was way more exciting with the introduction of stunt man Shark diving into the screen….:lol:. On lap 6 the weirdest thing showed that Shark was in the lead? There was no way that the car that was parked that you hit was me, it was a total phantom, that was the most unbelievable glitch I’ve seen to date, wow. I wasn’t anywhere near there, I was out in the front running away. Don’t yah just love SHIFT?

------------------------------------ OH BY THE WAY ---------------------------------------------

After looking at the vids for the last race ( Mo and Sharks ) is there any finishing order or even fast lap photos for it? I noticed that there wasn’t anything on Mo’s, and Sharks vid only showed about 6 min of what had to be about a 10 min race.

I've just seen: week 8 of this season will be interesting..

4 races on Nordschleife (GT2+Touring cars+SLR Moss) LOL It will be a long-long night:tup:

Well Mits I know that your reference to “rough around the edges” is in jest, but in the real world I have been racing since 74 and have raced against some people that are said to be “the fastest in the world.” As far as me trying to learn anything from around here, I doubt there would be many people that could teach me anything. I hope you never feel that you should have had a factory ride, if a few things would have fell your way.

Granted, I'm of the school of thought that people don't ever stop learning, so I can't comment on what you're personally taking from this league.

'74?! That's like.....27 years before I got my drivers license!! :dopey:

About the losing a factory ride, though, you should come hang out with myself and my racer friends, we could all share our experiences!!! Literally, every guy in my local Honda Challenge H2 class has either had that happen or is on their way towards that dissapointment right now! Thats racing, man. :D

So Mits lets check out your race car dude, I never knew about Honda having some kind of race program for FWD cars. Maybe I’ll buy one and check it out, even though I hate the way FWD cars go through the corners.

I assure you I am only kidding with this stuff man! I was absolutely refering to the glitch, I was by no means questioning your driving skills or anything otherwise. I'm just the type to give ball-busting right back, figured you were the same. Sure hope there aren't any hard feelings!!!

As for the wheel-barrows full of money, if I had one wish- it would be that we all had one of those! I havn't had much experience with bailing wire, as I keep forgetting it every time! But 200mph tape though? CHECK!! :) I can't even say I'm on a shoestring budget, because I already used my shoestrings to hold the bumper cover on!

I read a quote made by Roger Penske once, what you said drummed up the memory. I'm paraphrasing, 'The best way to make a fortune in racing....is to start with one.' No truer words in the world!!

As for my car, I don't have any picture of my exact car on the work computer, but here's a good example....

My exact car, same year/color/wheels etc- except mine is faster and has tire marks all over the front end! Quick and dirty version of the story- broken brake line+hairpin turn+115mph= tire marks all over the front of the car!! Honda Challenge is actually under the NASA (National Auto Sport Association...imagine SCCA without the 'cool club')banner, but we just got support from Honda Performance Development- which is pretty cool, and the series is booming! HondaChallenge.com if you're interested!

Once again, not trying to do anything but have a little fun. As the old saying goes, don't dish it out if you can't take it! As a matter of fact, I remember someone making a video a few weeks ago........ lol
 
It’s all good bro it’s just that in racing with me I have to try to be humble. I have always fought so hard to get any recognition in the racing world, considering I have been doing it so long, and haven’t made it yet. With Little Lefty coming up the ladder I have to stay competitive in the real world some how, because he has only seen me race on line, since he was so young when I was circle jerking, he needs to see his dad out there for real and I’m always looking for options that he and I can do together or the dream scenario where were on the track at the same time racing against each other. Remember Bobby and Davey Allison at Daytona.

One thing I can guarantee you is, if Nigel was racing moto-x against Magoo, and they were both racing their own individual sports at the same time, he would have seen the same thing I saw week after week.

When they ran 2- 40 min motos + 2 laps, Moto-x was rated as the toughest sport in the world

Just had a good test session wit Lefty. Pretty fast around Silverstone. I couldn't keep up. I'm looking forward to the M1 race as well as the GT3 RSR around ambush canyon. Doing consistent 1:24's and 1:25's but i just need my new connection hooked up so I can hang with you guys without bumping into you or spinning any of you out. I have a request though. Can we postpone the race for 20 minutes? I don't want to miss it but I won't be able to get on until about 20 mins after we usually start, if that's 12 pacific time.
 
So, as I see Jay will not come back untill the races. (if yes, it would be cool)
But if he can't get near to some internet, he won't be able to tell us the number of the laps for this week..

I vote to use the same laptimes we did last week.
That means:
GT2: 8 laps
Touring cars: 10-10 laps (maybe 12-12 because the track is so short..)
Ambush:8 laps
Dakota: 10 laps

Is that ok for everyone?

And if there is noone who want to host, I can do it this time.
 
I always like to see a min. of 10min. races, even though it guaranties more then one video for Youtube, so figure out how many laps it takes to hit that threshold. Of course that would never work on the large tracks like Spa or the Ring.

With the GT3 losing contact with the ground in the middle of the turns, aka suspension bound, it's a frikn Pogo stick on that course.

Sorry to hear that Mitsu- hope all is well for him and you. I'll be ready to race, if you don't see me in the first race, please keep a look out for me!! I will be there and ready to race and my connection will be good!! I just might be 10-20 minutes late! If you can't wait for me I understand, but at least let me race with you guys in the next races!

I just ran about 20 laps on Sil. Nat. in the Corolla GTS and can’t figure out how to go as fast as Mo. I’m just pulling my hair out. I’ve got it down to just using 2 gears and completely hanging it out to the extreme edges flat out. I can run low 58s every lap but just can’t crack into the 57z. Mo you’re the Man........ lol

I can't say how fast I am with the GTS, I haven't used it, I'm sticking with the VW scirocco. I can get the 59's, that's about it. 58's are near impossible. Maybe with some tuning I can approach them, gain maybe a second. And left you're in the west coast- what time does the races start? 12 p.m. correct?
