Unfortunately for me it is too late - I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that the Fanatec wheels were probably a bit better, then discovered I couldn't buy one anyway. So I went and bought a G27.

Maybe in another 5 years or so I will be allowed to buy another one.

Not if Fanatec's Australian distributor have anything to do with it :grumpy:

We will make a special bundle for Australia with Duke Nukem Forever. ;)

Seriously, we haven't given up on this market and in 5 minutes I will make a call with an australian distributor. I am confident we can make it in time before GT5 comes (whenver that will be)

Australia will then set two world precedent's on the first ever $1200+ dollar Sony game bundle that was set up in five minutes. (when ever that will be) ;)

I'm pretty sure Thomas meant "five minutes from now I will call a distributor", not "It'll take me five minutes to set up a distribution channel". Obviously that sort of work takes more time.

If you truly want a Fanatec wheel at a more reasonable price, surely you can work out a deal with a respected GTP member in the US or Europe.

If it was achievable I would be doing this ?

Are you graciously offering ?

@ Ustasa, I dont see why you attack Fanatec about the pricing in Australia. The guy who makes teh prices in Autralia is Pagian Imports and propably payes hughe amount of tax to getthe wheel in Australie. That aint the fault of Pagian or Fanatec but your goverment with their rules about import. Your import rules are just nuts and makes a product to import to Australia very very dear.

But to get to the point, you want the Fanatec wheel for roughly 350 dollars ?
Who you think is gonna pay shipping, tax etctera then ?

Thomas knows about it and is working on it, I wont help you constantly nagging him about the price in Australia.

one of two options either the G27 or the Fanatec 911 GT3 clubsport edition.

I wondered about getting a G27 and adding a set of the apparently sturdier CSP – as all my Logitech pedal sets (DF, DFP & G25) have eventually failed. But, if I'm reading this page right, then the CSP only works in combination with G27 for PC use only and not with the PS3

In particular this bit:

Compatibility:

PC:

Compatible with any racing wheel from Fanatec or any other brand (Logitech, Thrustmaster, etc) if used on PC.

Gaming consoles (
PlayStation 3 , Xbox 360):

You can connect the Clubsport pedals directly to the following
Porsche wheels*

* no mention of any other brands here.

The Clubsport pedals are compatible with any wheel if you use them on your computer. They plug into a separate USB port from the wheel. But, you can't use Clubsport pedals with the G27 on the PS3, because they can't be plugged into the G27, and you can't plug them into the PS3 separately like you can on the computer, if that makes sense. So in short, you can only use the G27 together with Clubsport pedals on the PC right now.

pretty much this. unless a CSP pedal adapater has been released. I know there was an adapter for g25 pedals to work w/ fanatec wheel, but I dont know about an adapater for CSP to work w/ g27 :/

If you are pc racing, then you can just plug it into the PC using the USB cord instead of plugging it into the wheel.

We can hardly make such an adapter as the data transmission to the CSPs are digital and bi-directional.
This allows a higher 10bit resolution (1024 values) and the ABS vibration
The Logitech wheels only have analog signals with 8 bit resolution (256 values).

Do you have any time next year when the Clubsport Shifter & Clubsport Handbrake will be released (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4)?

I ask because I'm looking to buy a setup that'll last me until the PS4 comes out and am looking to get your GT3RS, CSP, CSS, CSH.

Fanatec 911 GT3 Clubsport Edition but the fanatec stop the Clubsport Edition for now this is to bad, you must buy them 1 by 1 and that's cost 430€ the Clubsport Edition cost 320€. this is -1 for Fanatec. They not say that the Clubsport Edision was limited and many costomers are out of the the offer!

Fanatec stop the Clubsport Edition and now they sell it 1 by 1 that cost 430€ (pedals-wheel-shifter) and the Clubsport Edition cost 320€, -1 for Fanatec from me i will not buy this wheel, i will get G27!

I noticed this when I was decided to buy it... :guilty: In addition they do not convert the currency properly.
