Is purchasing GTPlanet Premium Membership really worth it???

I am having trouble deciding if I should purchase a Premium Membership or not.
I am a 15 year old boy living in New York, but I do have my own credit card, so money is not an issue for me.
If I do end up purchasing the Premium Membership I will buy it for lifetime ($25).

Since becoming a member on December 4, 2010 I have used this site alot, whenever I'm not playing GT5 of course, I even find myself trying to acess this site during class on my iPhone (which is not a great idea, as I noticed my grades had begun to drop since the realease of GT5).

I saw the page already that showed the benefits of the GTP Premium Membership already, ability to close own thread;"RED" username and ability to change it, etc.

So my question to you is: Is it really worth it, why did or didn't you buy it?

I would really prefer not to receive opinions from the Mods (and yes, that means you too Jordan) for obvious reasons.
And also if I posted this thread in the wrong subforum, please feel free to move it.

I was about to correct you on the price of a lifetime membership, but the prices all changed on me. But now I know that as soon as my yearly runs out, I'll be going in it for life!

If you're not sure if it's worth it or not, I would have suggested going for just a month, but since it's no longer available, do what you want.

If you do go premo, I would suggest changing the username. It's too hard to read.
 
Definitely recommended. So, the lifer premium subscription changed? I know what's happening next paycheck! :D

On top of username changing, you'll have access to The Infield, some of the coolest people on Earth, and you'll be supporting a great community. Those were reasons enough for me to become a Premo. 👍
 
I originally had Premium gifted to me. When it ran out I lasted all of 5 minutes before I paid for my own subscription, after a year of no adds I couldn't go back.
 
I think it's okay if you directly want to support this site, and it does provide a lot of benefits.

Not for casual members who just like to visit this site IMO.
 
I say it's not worth it. But I didn't buy my lifetime membership for the benefits, I just did it to give something back for something I use so often.
 
👍 Keeping this place around is totally worth it! 25 smackers is a small price to pay.

Remember that many current mods were Premium members before being asked to help moderate the forums, and that many were also among the first to try it out, hence I reckon that mods should be allowed to participate in your poll... however, I'll respect your wishes and I won't vote. But for the record, I thought GTPlanet Premium membership was worth it, not just for the extra features, but because it was a way of saying thanks (the best way, let's face it) for the years of work that have gone into this site.
 
I too will respect the original request and not vote, but I'm actually a mod who didn't have Premium before joining the team; I was fully planning on it though, but was stuck between jobs at that point and couldn't justify it to myself.

If you do have the money though, as you say, I'd definitely do it. Not just for the ads, or the Infield, or the other little perks, but like TM said, as a way of saying thanks. A quick look over at the official PlayStation forums is all I need to know I'm at the right place 👍
 
I won't vote in your poll, but as Touring Mars pointed out, many of the mod team including myself were premium members once upon a time.

I paid the yearly subscription instead of lifetime one for a few years in a row simply because I felt this site set a standard and I felt that I should support it in any way I can.
 
Chalk me up as another PMS (Pre Mod Status) Premium member. My first year was gifted to me (Thanks again, Beerz!) and a few weeks before it ran out I purchased Lifetime for the then asking price of $50. Not that it's down to $25, it would be a no-brainer.
 
Yet another Premium-Pre-Mod User and respectfully, I won't vote either. I dropped the cash mostly because I was here so often for the WRS and I couldn't stand the ads anymore. That alone is reason enough if you are a frequent member.

Totally worthy it: You get rid of the ads, you can display a 100 posts per page and you're supporting the maintenance of the site.

It isn't that expensive either.....
 
I would say it's worth it just for supporting GTPlanet, and I agree that having no ads is very useful if you use GTP a lot on your PS3 like me.
 
I got gifted Premo (Thanks to Josh!) & honestly, I couldn't go back if I had to. The benefits from the larger PM box, no ads, the infield & the fact the money is supporting a top bloke in Jordan & supporting one of the best gaming sites on the net are worth the cost.

As ASH32 asked - why would we close it? It's a perfectly legitimate question followed by pertinent answers.
 
Very much so worth it. Mine expired yesterday, so I'll have to purchase a membership again.

I liked feeling more special than most of the other users, for me that was the key to key to buying it.

I actually didn't read the things you get with it, and when I realized what changes were made to my account I found it was easily worth it. It also felt good to support the site, even if I only payed like £2.50 :lol:

But yeah, its definitely worth it if you do visit this site regularly and want full access to all the cool stuff here. Not to mention you helping out GTPlanet with the donation... 👍
If I had a credit card and a full time job I don't mind buying lifetime premium for you guys just like someone else once did for me... ;)
 
I had my first year of premium membership gifted to me (thanks again Jordan :)). As a daily user it's very useful IMO.

Now that the weekly race series is about to start back up with the jump from prologue to GT5 I'll be purchasing my own one very soon as I'll be back to visiting this place daily again I expect. Been here for years and as many others have already stated it'll just be my little way of giving back to a site that has given me so much, I've made many good friends as well as gained a lot of useful info.
