Are you driving GT5 with the Logitech G27?

I'm playing with G27 since the start of GT5, in the week preceding the 1.06 patch I didn't drove, and yesterday I get back on the track, starting the seasonal event with the F1 2010.

Don't know how and why, but I feel the steer and driving slighty different, with less response.
Furthermore I noticed and tried the new Controller Steering Sensitivity setiing.

What are your impressions?
Driving is the same?
Controller Steering Sensitivity does it affects the G27 also (or DS3 only)?

TNX

- [Controller Steering Sensitivity] has been added to [Driving Options].

Doesn't sound like it's affecting wheels, it says controller.

Are you doing the seasonal events when you notice the difference ?

The ASM of SRF (I can't remember which) are stuck in the on position in the setting menu and in these races the handling is very different from normal and feels just as strange on a DS3.

After the 1.06 update I was able to Gold the License all 60 of them. It just feel more responsive (settings changed) or was just lucky.

yes seasonal events F1...

you too are feeling something diferent...

I have a g25 and I noticed that Karts feel a bit different. Now It seems like they can slide around a bit before it just lets go and spins.

I'm using G27 also and I'm playing every day. And i didn't noticed any change.

I noticed a difference the moment I restart the game after installation. What I found at first was:

- decreased FFB strength
- harder to feel the tire grip
- better weight shift

What I did was to delete the game and reinstall GT5 to see if indeed the difference is there. Using the the same car and the same track I used when testing patch 1.06, the FFB indeed felt different. Of course in both testing (patched and "unpatched" GT5), my G25 was set to 10. With the "unpatched" GT5, I felt I needed to exert more force to steer the car. Other than that, I didn't feel there was much difference.

After re-installing the 1.06 update and after testing various cars and tracks, I have to say with the latest update despite the fact that PD only state:

" The [Feedback Strength] of the Thrustmaster T500RS can now be adjusted across a wider range."

I feel that in general, the FFB is better than before. Despite my first observation regarding tire grip and FFB strength, I have to say that while the FFB strength might indeed be less, the feel of the front tire is even more refined than before.

A footnote: last night I fired up GT5 and after a good/great experience the night before, I again discovered the FFB felt weak and I was getting no sense of tire gripping the tarmac. After checking the FFB option menu to see if I might've accidentally turn it down- it's still at 10, I restart my PS3 and restart the game. That fixed the problem.

I don't use a G27, but I do use a DFGT, and I noticed the new "Controller Sensitivity' settings do play a role with my wheel. It was like night and day going from 0 to 7 - suddenly minor adjustments on my wheel were working again once I put it up to sensitivity setting 7. At 0, I was sliding out and spinning out even with my Capuccino '95 on corners for seemingly no reason until I realized that it was the sensitivity setting that was the issue. Heck, I even deleted and reinstalled the game data because I thought that was the issue at first.

Hello, YES those were just the feelings I was experiencing different from before:

Less FFB
better feeling of the car on track (vibrations on curbs)
better dead-zone

I tried to change the Controller Steering Sensitivity, but i'm not sure of the results.
Does it changes or not?
Some wheel users say YES other NO

Another setting to work with? I hope not...
Tuning the car for better drive feeling is ok, but setting the ingame feature is very FAR from a simulation game

Other thoughts?

I feel something different too.....but then I have been away from gt5 for several weeks and playing plenty of TDU2 so my feeling is a bit skewed.

There's quite a big difference in my G27 after the v1.06 patch. Feedback is generally a lot weaker but also seems less detailed; so it's harder to feel the road surface, kerbs, or generally how much traction you've got. Much poorer in my opinion. I'll be re-installing the game without 1.05.

but you will loose a big part of the game the online features.
Just get habit to the new feeling

FFB feels to be much less. I honestly can not tell a difference between setting 5 - 10. They all feel the same to me

yes agree with you m8.
With my G27 i'm always getting a bad feeling during change of directions, the dead zone in the center is very bad

G25 since 1.06/1.07 ==> definitely improved the overall game experience for me. More accurate depiction, and feedback sensation of all races. I'd be happy if it stays like this. Rally feedback has also been greatly improved, with less dreadful feedback knocking

This is for current users of the Logitech G27. I'm assuming it also applies to the Thrustmaster. Controller Steering Sensitivity DEFINITELY applies to your wheel!

Here is a quick test.

Load a race with your wheel, in a premium car. Come to a complete stop and enter the "in car" view. With steering sensitivity set to -2, you will notice that your 900 degree wheel turns the steering wheel in the car to its max deflection rather quickly. Re-load the race with your steering sensitivity now set to +7. You will notice you actually have to turn the wheel to its 900 degree deflection in order to get the in car wheel to reach its full deflection.

I think of it as the sensitivity actually being backwards, turn it down to -2 and your expensive 900 degree wheel acts like a cheapo arcade wheel, turn the sensitivity up to 7 and wham it starts acting like the $300 wheel you were used to before this update.

Hope this helps.
