Skunky's Workshop... DMC Delorean and Ford Ka update

This is the first edition of my DMC Delorean S2 '04 tune. I say first edition as I think there is probably some improvements to be made but I feel its so much better than stock that it may benefit (even just as a base perhaps) anyone trying to tune the car. I have been managing late 1.18's at deep forest on sport softs and early 1.15's on racing softs but the car does not feel great with the racing tyres. (I'm no great driver so dont read too much into the lap times) Any feedback to help improve the car would be great.

If any of the settings look familiar...they probably are. I used RUF YellowBird Co-Tuned with Rotary Junkie
from Adrenaline's AdrenaTune thread To help me with where to start tuning an RR vehicle. Helped massively as I was really struggling with this one so BIG THANKS :)

Re: Citroen Xantia V6 Exclusive '00

I was running the C5 V6 Exclusive last night in a 450pp room on S3 tires. Everyone had to run a 2WD Sedan and I figured I'd try a FF. The car was quick in a straight line but it was chewing up front tires because I couldn't get any rotation. I got the pole position at London and pulled ahead by 2.5 seconds by lap 4 but I had to run 10 laps. By lap 8, I had 2 RWD cars on my tail because my lap times were dropping significantly. I got passed by one but he went wide and I ducked in on the last turn for the win. The rest of the night I struggled with grip and didn't place better than 10th despite qualifying in the top 3 each race.

Anyway, I think I'll give your tune a try and see how it compares to what I did with the C5. I will have to detune it a bit for 450pp. Did you tune yours for sports tires or racing tires?

Aye Skunky, I'm gonna give my review tomorrow. Haven't tested it yet, but I'm gonna do it, I promise. :)

I tuned it on sports softs. Not sure how it'll go over ten laps though, are you racing a particular track? Ill have a run in it later today and see how it lasts.

Oh really? Never thought. I'm still comparing, but can just hardly see the similarity.

Its very similar, just adjusted a little to suit. I had no idea where to start with setting up a RR vehicle and wasnt having much luck. I actually started with pretty much exact settings but have tweaked since then. It helped alot with pointing me in the right direction (arb, camber, toe) so I posted my thanks.

Look forward to it :)

Ok I have made a few adjustments to the Xantia. Mainly an LSD change to help limit wheelspin. I ran the car at 279bhp on the power limiter (450pp) around Cote d'Azur and I was still chewing tyres (sport softs) after 5/6 laps so you may not have much better luck with the Xantia over the c5. It may also be down to my heavy right foot spinning the wheels out of the last hairpin every lap :) I still think its nice to drive but some tyre preservation will probably be required.

By the way if anyone has any ideas on setting up FF for better tyre life please post away :)

p.s. Starting to hate the delorean. Giving up on improving it for the moment before I throw my playstation out the window

On FFs I've always found good results from running a soft rear spring and stiff front in conjunction with 1/7 anti-roll bars... Some try to blame it on GT5 being backwards (and they're right at least for ride height) but it was the case in GT4 as well, not to mention having seen the same effects in the PC sim world.

On the Xantia, I'd say to run your current rear spring rate as the front spring and set the rear to around 5.0, then go to 1/7 anti-roll. It's generally much better on exit with this setup, though if you go too far you'll start getting power-on oversteer in a FWD car... Which is only good until the rear starts trying to pull the front of the car away from the direction you're trying to go... At which point it's bad for both lap time and tire wear.

Original 60gig PS3 has just developed a red flashing light...:ill:

I'm scared for my ps3 and already kicking myself for the lackof a backup save..... numpty.

I hope it comes back on...I miss you already GT :(

I might as well have done it. Completely knackered... YLOD :( will be trying to repair myself soon but.... We'll see. So no more tunes for awhile. Hope to be back soon. Reviews or any kind of feedback still appreciated, enjoy your gt. Skunky

I did your Autozam tune a while back. The stock Auto was a ugely funy, but uselessly crappy drive. I thought it was hopeless, till i tried your tune on it. Job well done mate, thanks.
Sorry for not having a full review on it, but i'll probably return next month (depends on wich TT will be next)
Sorry to hear about your PS3. Get wel soon i hope, or is it finished ?
Greetings stano666.

Hey Skunky, do u hav a tune for chaparral 2d race car?

I did DrSkunk Autozam tune too. And pitted it against "your's" & original Autozam. I wrote about it in: Dr.Slump's car ambulance (garage).... *THREAD*
Greetings stano666 :) Ps any luck with your PS3 yet?

Can I be an irritating arse and help? And is this the car you used on ssr7 last time?

Well yeah, I picked the Aristo because of Wangan Midnight Maximum tune nostalgia.

If you want a duel then try to find a good pair for this car first. No I won't help you on that either. :P

Well...if you really wanted to make a point, I'll bring a 600hp Gtr to the party :D or...how much PP has it got? Can't check...

And it did 211mph if I remember rightly on ssr7, so the Gtr had better be quick...

Fully modded. With increased rigidity. No Aero, no ballast.

The car has 621bhp, weighs 1367 kg and has 559pp.

But we're here not for SSR7 though. :P

Hey peeps :) glad you liked the autozam tune, I think it's a laugh to drive and much better than tuned with stock settings.

I'll have a read of your comparison now.

No joy with the ps3 yet, just had a baby, moved home and started a new job so things have been a little hectic recently. Haven't even had time to try the fix yet. I'm actually playing gt2 on a ps1 and n64 games at the mo :).... Been awhile. Found my memory card that I gamesharked back in the day though. :D will be back here ASAP and am still reading everybody's posts and appreciate feedback.

Thanks for the good feedback on the autozam tune, glad you liked it. I think it's fun to drive and much better than tuned with standard settings. I'll read your comparison in a min.

No chapperells sorry.

No joy with the ps3 yet. I have just had a baby, moved home and started a new job so everything is a bit hectic as I am sure you all can imagine. I haven't even tried to fix it yet... No time. I have dug out my ps1 and n64 and am spending time playing gt2 and goldeneye. :) been awhile.

Hope to be back ASAP but am still reading all posts and appreciating any feedback. Thanks skunky.

Great Tune, I added a sh.it load of Negative camber on my CRX. It gives it a nice stance... handles well round corners too.

Finally sorted another ps3. Original 60gb again. Need my ps2 fix occasionally. Have lost all data so will be starting again but you can expect a few new tunes coming in the near future. Started with a sprinter trueno, love that car. Forgot how much fun comfort tyres are too. Next up ff in a yaris/ vitz. This is going to take ages. :). So happy to have gt5 back, was getting bored of gt4 as there is nothing left to do for me. Any low price requests let me know I'll be playing alot so will hopefully have the credits to spend soon.

Hi everyone, I had major issues with the new ps3 so it has been binned and a brand-new 320gb bought. I have been cracking on with seasonals and remote racing (add me, skunkyskunkface) and my profile is getting there so should be up for getting some tunes out soon. Have a great f-150 nearing completion a 60's silvia that still needs time spent, a 1987 r31 skyline that is pretty wicked and a great trio of 550pp online racers that all offer something different for online racing. I will release these as a set for comparison purposes. I may not be able to put pictures up straight away as I have lost my USB stick.

I have also used a couple of my old tunes and not been that happy so as and when I see them in the ucd I will be going through and doing them again or tweaking the tunes.

I am also desperately trying to find a low milage crx sir '90 so if you have one going :). Should have the pick up on here later this week.
