I have posted my first review, and I want to do it again. Only this time bigger. Much, much bigger. I have a point to make, a hypothesis if you will. I think a selection of premium V8 coupés will help me prove or disprove my theory.

To that end, I need two sets of tunes. For both of these, money matters. If that part doesn't actually improve the performance or manageability of the car, don't install it. If you want to change the wheels, or colors of the car, please feel free. It will count as part of the cost of the car, though. Looks do matter, so paint if you must.

Tires count, too. These cars must remain street legal. You can not race modify them or put them on slick racing tires. If you want to purchase tires, that will count as part of the cost of the car.

I probably won't be able to include every submitted tune into the review (I'm being optimistic here in hoping that I will actually get submissions). I will also be looking around the forums for other tunes that have already been created. Don't be discouraged though. I'm not necessarily looking for the fastest tunes. I'm looking for the best. And my definition of "the best" may surprise.

Tune Request #1: Economy V8 Coupé for Luxury V8 Coupé Money

There are three economy V8 coupés that I am looking to include in this. They are:

  • the Chevrolet Camaro SS '10 (35,000 Cr.),
  • the Dodge Challenger SRT8 '08 (40,027 Cr.),
  • and the Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium '07 (48,500 Cr.)

I am looking for tunes for these with a final price tag on par with the three luxury V8 coupés below. In other words, you have between 150,000 and 220,000 Cr. These are not hard limits, but do balance the cost of the tuned car with the performance and looks. I imagine that it is entirely possible to create a fantastic car for less than 150,000.

The base cost of the car will count as part of the entire package.

Tune Request #2: Luxury V8 Coupés with Premium Options

There are three luxury V8s to include as well:

  • the Jaguar XKR Coupe '10 (155,000 Cr.),
  • the Maserati Granturismo S '08 (166,500 Cr.),
  • and the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione '08 (220,000 Cr.),

Please, don't go hog wild, but how much better can these cars be for an extra 10, 20, 30 Grand? There is no hard limit, but please try to balance the cost of the tuned car with the performance and looks.

The base cost of the car will count as part of the entire package.

p.s. Also, keep in mind I do all of my testing (and most of my playing) online.

Going to suggest adding the following cars to your review. They are all V8 Coupes with the BMW hitting a price point in the middle between your economy Coupes and the luxury Coupes.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione '08 luxury coupe 220,000 Cr.
BMW M3 Coupe '07 luxury coupe?? '07 92,400 Cr.
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG '10 luxury coupe 197,620 Cr.
[Note the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (19inch Wheel Option) '09 is also a V8 Coupe however at 598,500 Cr. it is well beyond the price of even "luxury" Coupes and should probably be considered an exotic supercar.]

Can't promise how many and which of these cars I'll tune but I am interested in tuning them so we'll see what happens.:)

Also what track/s do you test on?

I did consider the SLS AMG as well as the Ferrari California. I figured I'd keep it to three of each, and those two had extra weight from being convertible (and the Ferrari was a bit more expensive).

I do want to intentionally limit this to premium cars. I think there is another V8 Aston as well, but it isn't premium. And a Holden/Pontiac as I recall.

As to test tracks, I do have some that I favor, such as the TGTT, Grand Valley East - Reverse, and Deep Forrest.

However, given the size of this, I have some testing ideas that I'm kicking around. I imagine it will have the potential to get some exposure to everything but rain, ovals, and Nurburgring.

My question, does the Alfa 8C Competizione qualify ?
It's a V8 Coupe, but Vol Jbolaz didn't include it on his list.

@Vol Jbolaz the cars I listed above are all premium Coupes with V8s which is why I mentioned them. I can understand having too many cars to test though so...

When I can get back online, I'll check on the Aston. If it is a V12, I'm sorry for the mix up. I know there is a V8 Aston in the game, I guess I got them mixed up.

Let me check the price on the Alfa. As I recall, there was a V8 Ferrari and Merc, too.

I quoted the prices on the Alfa, SLS AMG and BMW M3.
Other than the SLR McLaren and the ones you named in the OP they are the only Premium V8 Coupes.

Yeah, sorry. I checked. Such a shame. The Aston was so gorgeous. Mind you, the Alfa is quite a looker, too.

I've updated the first post. I guess we'll see if the Alfa is worth the price tag.

Uhm you replaced the wrong car in the OP.:odd::confused:

I have started playing around with these six in their stock trim. This is turning out to be fantastic. Wow, I have been surprised. I am really looking forward to this.
