Welcome to True Force Tuning (TFT), formerly known as Renown Tuning (hence the accompanied banner). True Force Tuning focuses on giving you the most out of Formula 1 vehicle, no matter the team nor the consequences behind it. While we can't guarantee a top finish because that's solely dependent on the one behind the wheel, what can be guaranteed is we'll try as hard as possible to give you every last inch of power your car has to offer. Personal requests are welcomed, and they can either be posted here for all else to see or you can request that they be PM'd to you by myself. You can be as specific with your requirements as needed, or you can just request a general improvement of some kind - whatever the request we'll do our best to meet it.

Our primary goal is simple and that goal is to give you the best possible experience in F1 2011 and 2012 to the very best of our experience and abilities. All of the settings will be handled by myself (and perhaps a team, should anyone else find themselves interested in contributing). We're more than happy to acknowledge criticism whether it be negative or positive, so long as it's civilized, otherwise it will just be disregarded. I'm going to list my own personal favorites/settings shortly but let's concentrate on the task at hand first - speed and stability!

What goes into testing and how does True Force test vehicles?

- TFT has official use of the following tracks for testing purposes: Melbourne, Suzuka, Monza, Monaco, and Nurburgring GP. These tracks offer the greatest variety between themselves but the one constant between them is their focus, and that focus being acceleration and downforce; if you want your chassis for a specific track you'll have to pay the fees yourself. We're only sponsored by the tracks listed above. While top speed is always a priority, especially in a Formula 1 vehicle there will be tunes that take top end speed out of the immediate equation and will then focus upon acceleration, grip, and acceleration. Yes, acceleration was mentioned twice on purpose. No typos here, and if I find any someone is getting the socks sued right off of their feet.

What constitutes as a "good" lap time?

- That's solely dependent on the track and chassis being used.

What if I am unhappy with the tune?

-
Simply alert me to whatever the problem may be and I will do my best to alleviate the problem as soon as possible.

What's the difference between the variety of available tunes?

- Each tune will be listed under the appropriate chassis, and the primary difference between the tunes will be on one hand you'll have a general usage tune with no specific track in mind. On the other hand you'll have track-specific tunes that are only to be used for that particular track, and will more than likely maximize upon the characteristics of that individual track. General use tunes will be labeled as "Version 1, Version 2, etc..." and the track specific tunes will be labeled as "(name of track) Edition".

I'm currently having some problems with my controller settings and/or I can't seem to find a comfortable setting; what would you suggest?

- These are the settings that I currently use...keep in mind now these are PRELIMINARY settings, they can (and will) change once I've fiddled around with everything more.

Do these DFGT settings convert your 2010 ones into 2011? I had almost the same ones so that's pretty interesting to me.

Unlikely. Since there's so many more factors now. I'll definitely try it out and see how well they convert.

I would presume that they would be a good base apart from the gearing which will be different with the DRS now.

Not even. I forget which, but one of the parameters have been completely omitted (I think it's brake bias) so I'll pretty much have to work from scratch. Which won't be hard...or at least so I think.

Apparently spring settings set to 11 will be default for the best setup. Glitch?

Why do you use deadzone in your peddles T? If I'm not being rude to ask.

I'm still tinkering with everything but I don't like how the pressure sensitivity is; it's either too little, unresponsive until the pedal is two-thirds of the way down, or it responds too quickly.

And I'm not glitching, so off with your head. :P

T12, did you, by chance, take a look at Istanbul already? I'm in desperate need of some sort of setup since neither my old one (of course) nor one of the (even modified) default ones worked out great for me. :(

I've been there, yes, but I'm in no position to make a tune for a track I can't even get around without the racing line, or for that matter comfortably at all.

tuning is useless there is a huge bug in the game, just put spring rate to 11-11 and you'll fly 5/6 sec faster than your normal time everywhere in every condition, you can also keep your drs open almost everywhere.. don't get the sense but that is.

please don't use this in time trial or you will destroy leaderboards.

The car is glued, if the sense of this tuning discussion is to find the best set-up, well there is nothing better, it changes the game to wipeout. online if you play fair you will be destryoed cause they posted it on codemster forum and now everyone is using this. leaderboard has insane times.

however good work and thanks for the dfgt setting.

Yeah i did hear about that :/ Codemasters turned Codefail

On Istanbul I used the "Quick Car Setup" and left it in the middle. This gave me the right amount of turn ability and speed to be successful. The hardest corner on that track is that big swooping angled corner. There are changes in camber all along those turns and it can be tricky maintaining speed and grip through there. I love the course though!

I'm curious to try out some of the tunes posted here, but can I make a suggestion: Might it be possible for you to copy all of the tunes and keep them posted in the OP, especially since they are in no particular order at this point?

Gonna have to decline that. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to tidiness, and I despise clutter. Besides, that's what the links are for. :)

DP for an important notice:

Tomorrow (today) I'll likely be picking up a G27 which means I'll be able to use KERS and DRS properly (right now I'm only using DRS via the keyboard which is a pain in my ass) and the tunes will likely be edited accordingly, if necessary.

If, for whatever reason things go awry then I'll stick with the DFGT until I can get the wheel.
