HaHaHa as if JESUS no WAY
Am so pi##ed I just can't get a good game disconnect after disconnect.

Before anyone makes recommendations

My connection is 8 Mbps

I have tested the ping whilst playing and receive no dropped packets.

My router is a recent Netgear model.

I have set up my playstation in a DMZ

The connection is wired.

I don't get drop outs on any other game.

Please PD .

The reason I notice this so much is because I like to run 20 lap races and above.

does anyone else think this is a MASSIVE PROBLEM?

Well yes, this problems happens now and then. But it seems you have done everything you can do though, like putting ps3 in dmz. Maybe its the host that has problems? I dont know, but after i put my ps3 in static, and open ports on router, i got much better online performance. 8mbit should be enough i guess. Funny is, that you only get this problem in gt5, that means something is screwed.

Sorry can you please forward me kaz's email, thanks.
Huh, you better wait for the spec 2.0 update, maybe they will improve the online mode? But i can say, that when i upgraded from 8 mbit to (secret), i got much better performance, and less dissconections...could also be due to my new router and settings

I really have no need to speak to him directly, I was joking about that, I'm sure he has millions of problems to deal with, the fact that this thread hasn't got much interest tells me it's still probably something to do with my equipment/setup? I'll persevere for now. But hopefully spec 2 will make a difference.

Why will you not divulge your current connection speed?

He is a secret agent, stop asking before you blow the whole operation and get someone killed...

Try taking your ps3 out of the dmz. I had disconnects every 20-30 mins during online play, after dmz change it rarely happens now.

I have 50mb per second and huge connection issues. So it seems like the connection speed doesn't matter at all, at least not for the connection issue that I have. I get the 717 error, network incompability, disconnects and sometimes the loading bar reach the end and everything freezes. It's probably some router thing causing it, but the connection works excellent for everything else, other games are no problem at all.

I've found that I'm allowed to enter rooms with only a few other players, and then other people can join after me and fill the room without causing a problem for me (usually). But if there's a room with like 10/16 players I get some sort of error/disconnection most of the times I try to join.

If I become room host in a room I joined early, and the room is full, there will likely be a huge mass-disconnection orgie for everyone else and then I'm all alone again.

I really hope this will be fixed soon. And as all other games works without problem on the same connection it has got to be something with GT5 that is not working as it should be.

Eran I have basically the same problem as you have!

But I have not experienced the "disconnection orgie" when becoming host.

For all people with simular problems. Please post it in my thread. There are alot of people with the same problems. But to be honest, i believe most of them have given up now.

Guys, please check out my thread for potensial fixes, and to hopefully get a larger thread so that these problems may get more attention and be fixed in a future update.

If I do that I can't connect to most of my friends, besides I tried forwarding ports and it's still the same. Thanks tho.

I will post in your thread but I'll wait until it drops down the list a little, keep it fresh in everyone's mind.

Have you also tryed the old trick, to clear your cache now and then ?

GT5's online is just terrible. COD, Battlefield, they all run great rarely get disconnects. But to find a room in GT5 is hard enough, and then you get disconnected.

I don't even play online anymore.
