Ah, it's worth a note that on some occasions it would skip to the second grid (CTR2 to Opera 350Z), but still the first set of lineups*. Simply loading a track in practice did nothing. Loading a track, starting a run, driving a bit and exiting did nothing. Loading a track, completing a lap and exiting moved it to grid 2 of the first set of lineups.

The only thing that completely changed the grids was completing a seasonal race. I haven't tried other races yet, largely because I want to eliminate connectivity as a potential issue. Seem odd, I know, but so does the demarcation between driving about a bit in practice and actually completing a lap in practice...

Compared to the above, where the fastest car is the Mine's V-Spec N1, nope :D

*I'm using "grid" to mean your 11 specific opponents and "lineup" to mean a collection of preset grids.

Wait, there's another completely different set of lineups if you do a seasonal at any point before reset? Mind you, I'm only researching doing simply the Nurburgring 4h and that's it. That seems very similar to one time when I was scrolling through the lineups in the Supercar Festival - I've mentioned it around here somewhere before, but I'll say it again.

Basically, while searching for lineups for one of my fanfic races, I found a lineup I wanted, but in idiocy never took any pictures for the race. :dunce:

Thing is, whilst doing the scrolling, I had originally gone for a change of mind and started scrolling through arcade lineups instead.

I reset the game to get the lineup I wanted back, but it never came. During this time, I only scrolled through the Supercar Festival and nothing else, and just ended up racing with a different lineup.

Which makes me wonder what changes the set of lineups in any way.

And also, yes, the S2k GT1 can be faster, but if you note its worst average laptime, it can also be slower...depends on how the AI messes up with the tyres I suppose.

1. How did you get such an awesome line-up Famine? What number is it and how do I get it? I'm fed up of Ct230Rs, FT565 TTs and S2000 GT1s (even non-turbo is pretty fast). :grumpy:

That's the problem - I can't at the moment...

2. I'd be interested to know the exact lap times of the RUF CTR. ;)

First post.

Wait, there's another completely different set of lineups if you do a seasonal first?

These are completely different to the lineups I had for the Focus and Integra races - and several of my latter races in pre-Spec 2.0 versions. Grid 7 is remarkably similar to the "all-yellow" grid I used to get before my no-rabbit grid, but not the same...

First post.

It used to be that doing all manner of banal things completely changed the lineups - including viewing the settings page of your car in your garage!

Ah yes, but that's the CTR2. Unless you've updated it by now for 'Crash: Out of control.AI hater'

Hmm. That second lineup seems tasty. :) But that is something I didn't know before. Heh, learning something on any day but a half term day! Either way for the Roadster 4h race I have a solid idea on what I'm using for that and for the Nurb 4h, which I think I said I was doing tomorrow, I will be taking a go at the S2k Turbo for sure. I just don't know what to use yet to lol its utter travesty away yet.

The Yellowbird's average laptimes are an irrelevance really - it'll do two laps at 8'30 and then one at 11'...

I do have one saved from my Focus run and I should update the thumbnails.

Thanks for that info. Still, to do an 8:30 in any car is still quick, but yeah the 3rd lap kinda makes an average that is irrelevant. It basically can't win, unless somehow it pitted every 2 Laps. ;)

Oh and thanks for the thumbnail update. :)

As for my next attempt, I may try the Dome Zero again with a slightly easier line-up. Having to beat a CT230R, FT565 TT and a GT1 is tough. :nervous:

Let me guess, an MX-5? :sly:

Err...no, actually. It's one of the Roadsters. The 1800RS '04 to be specific. But it really doesn't matter, there are 3 variants of every MX-5/Miata/Roadster in the game because PD royally screwed it up in not just GT5 but GTPSP as well...makes me very cross. :grumpy:

8'30? That's barely a second and a half slower than what an S2k Turbo can manage...although the 11' timer is to be expected  It goes 3 laps between stops. Also such a variation would cause some confusing calculation for averages :boggled:

Well with the addition of Mid-Race saves, I chose that it would be wise to give this a shot tomorrow in my Subaru WRX. Wish me all the best. :)

Not really. The average of 8:30, 8:30 and 11:00 would be (660+510+510)/3=560s, or 9:20, which is kinda fast actually. :nervous:

To be honest, it's probably a lot less than that. Famine's run in the Focus with it saw it battling with the Opera Performance 350Z which isn't very fast at all among the runners.

I think I might give the Evo X TC a test on its stock Sports Medium tyres. Failing that a Lancia Delta S4 might work, still on Sports Mediums. Failing that, a run in an Atenza Touring Car might suffice and would also sound excellent. :D

Oddly, I've just worked out its pace in the Focus race... my guess was two 8'30s, an 11 and a minute in the pits, for 9'40 average laps. The replay says...

Average laptime - 9'43.800 (93.6mph)

Duffman!

Oh, and I snapped the Focus RS's winning margin:

It's no threat for the race victory, but it's a threat...

It will go off like a rocket from the start. It will then go off like a landmine for the last half of its third lap. Coming round a corner at 100mph to see a backwards Yellowbird in a cloud of its own smoke dead in the middle of the track... brown trousers. If you can avoid it when you're passing/lapping it, you're good to go, but you will encounter it twice in a race in the above situation.

Wait, the replay tells you averages? Again, learning stuff in half terms is not ideal but I'll take it  Did say it was with the two Opera Performance 350Z's though so I was quite correct. On the subject of the Opera's, the '04s thumbnail is broken. :(

Also, what duncitude by the Mine's there upon pitting on the last lap  What was it like, withdrawing from the race on the last lap?! Knowing that he failed by losing to a Focus. 👍

Well, I worked it out by viewing the replay and skipping to as near-the-end as possible to work out when the Ruf would finish.

I just replaced the GT GT-R's thumbnail, 'cos that was broken too. Imageshack is weird.

Even if the replay doesn't tell you the averages I'm sure famine has the brain capability to calculate the mean average of the lap times, it's not exactly hard to just watch the yellow birds race and divide total race time by number of laps done.

When I edit them :D

I've been a bit busy with other things today, but I'll generally add things as I see them.

Edit: Just did an offline A-Spec race, tried the N4 and got a completey different grid again. 🤬

Tried out the Evo X TC and got a 8:59 first time. Which is not a suitable time for a close race here at all... :( I could put Sports Softs on but that would probably make too much of a difference, namely being way faster than the R8 LMS even. Sports Hards would probably still make me too fast for the CTR2...

Here goes my 2nd attempt with the Dome Zero.

253BHP/846kg
299.1BHP/tonne
483PP
RS Tyres used throughout race

Starting Grid (to save time I'm just using initials of drivers)
L.V - Gran Turismo Skyline GT-R
P.W - G37
K.N - S2000 GT1 (main rival)
J.B - Fairlady Z
T.D - EVO VI
B.S - GT 350Z RS
Me - Dome Zero
W.T - 350Z
A.C - Skyline GT-R S Tune (R32)
H.L - AEM S2000
L.M - RX-7
A.G - NISMO 380RS

Lap 1 - 9:11.395
Up to 4th by the Nordschleife, then 3rd somewhere later. GT1 is 16s ahead at the line, with the Fairlady Z second. The car tops out cleanly at 166mph.
Lap 2 - 9:07.380
Uneventful. Still in 3rd 32s behind GT1.
Lap 3 - 9:45.313
Very sloppy lap because of me. Without aids (except ABS set to 1) this car can get kinda sideways, even on RS Tyres. Though the tyres should be good for a total of 5 Laps. Now down to 7th. :grumpy:
Lap 4 - 9:18.960
Not the best, not the worst lap. Sideways at times but never had to reverse out of a crash. Got 6th at Galgenkopf only to be overtaken again by the GT Skyline GT-R but then back to 6th after Tiergarten, :) but the gap is now 1:40. :(
Lap 5 - 9:29.333 (Pit-In)
My only real hope now of winning is the possibility of winning the economy race, or due to the speculated "6th lap of doom". If I'm not ahead by the start of Lap 8, (or at least within winning range/hope of victory), I'm pulling out and trying again at a future date. In my stint I used 42L of fuel, so that's 8.4L per lap, so I just put in the 14L free fuel and leave. This means I had 58L going in and I'll have 72L coming out. So by next stop I'll have 30L, so technically I could just put in 14L then have 2L by the 3rd stop (Lap 15). At this rate it'll be a 5 stop race needing ~210L of fuel.
Lap 6 - 9:29.790 (Out-Lap)
Thankfully, the GT1 had its lap of doom and I gained 30s because of it, plus about 1 minute when it was in the pits. I'm now 4th as I passed 2 in the pits. :) Now only 1:25 down on 1st, so I might actually win.
However, I'm going to be saving and quitting after the next stop as it'll be about 10PM when I pit and midnight if I finish tonight, so I'll finish tomorrow.
Lap 7 - 9:04.349
Very good lap, only a few mistakes. I managed to pass the RX-7 into 3rd after Aremburg. Gap is now 63s behind the GT1.
Lap 8 - 9:22.682
Lot of mistakes. Still 3rd, gap is now 1:29.
Lap 9 - 9:12.328
Relatively decent lap. Still 3rd but the AEM is about 1s behind. Gap is now 1:39 behind the S2000. This really is a battle of economy and laps of death as in flying laps he is around 20s a lap faster on average, so I need to gain around 1-1.5 minutes on him every pit-stop, hard but doable. Oh and make few mistakes. :indiff:
Lap 10 - 9:30.517 (Pit-In and Race Suspended)
LOst 4th to the AEM S2000 after the first hairpin but regained it onto the Nordschleife only to lose it again. Then, on Dottinger I see 5th. I keep him off as I enter the pits for my 2nd stop and I suspend the race. Gap is around 1:50.

-----------------------------------------------------

Lap 11 - 9:45.382 (Pit-Out)
And we're back after a race suspension. It turns out I had 33L left in nthe tank, so I only used up 39L of fuel, or 7.8L per lap. I'm uncertain as to how much to put in so I put in 30L, giving 63L for the next stint where I'll have ~23L by Lap 15 so I can put in just 20L to give ~43L of fuel by the end of Lap 20, then an earlier pit on Lap 24 not 25 with about 3L left so put in another 20L then.
As for the lap, not much to report here. Started and ended 5th. Gap is now 2:30.
Lap 12 - 9:06.296
A good lap, but a few mistakes so could have been better. However, I managed to take 3rd in the pits and the S2000 is no longer 1st, but 2nd. The Fairlady leads. I feel there is still some hope. :)
Lap 13 - 9:15.933
Another average lap, few mistakes. S2000 still 2nd, I'm still 3rd. Gap to the Fairlady is now 1:55.

We've now had half the race time gone. The grid stands at:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Fairlady
2. Amuse S2000 GT1
3. Dome Zero
4. NISMO 380RS
5. AEM S2000
6. RX-7
7. G37
8. Skyline GT-R S Tune (R32)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lap 14 - 9:17.726
Not much to report here. Gap is now 2:11.
Lap 15 - 9:28.212 (Pit-In)
As I pit in from 3rd I had 23L left as expected so I put in just 20L. I drop down to 5th in the pits, but no worries as I'll likely regain lost time when everyone pits or because of my fresh tyres. :) Thankfully the Fairlady pit as well as me, so the S2000 is now in 1st (not sure if that's entirely a good thing).
At the moment it seems I'll likely come 3rd, I can't see myself winning this one but doubt I'll come worse than 3rd.
Lap 16 - 9:31.459 (Pit-Out)
Not much to say really. Still 5th.
Lap 17 - 9:09.080
Average lap. Still 5th.
Lap 18 - 9:17.824
Average lap in terms of pace, but good otherwise. Passed the AEM S2000 just before the Karussel to take 4th and then the 3rd placed NISMO 380RS to take 3rd. Still in 3rd at the line. :)
Lap 19 - 9:28.139
Quite a poor lap, lots of spins. Still 3rd though thankfully.
Lap 20 - 10:12.020 (Pit-In)
This'll be my last lap of the night as once again it is 11:30PM, so I'll finish this tomorrow. Sorry all to anyone who is actually even read all this. ;)
The lap was actually terrible. Many spins caused me to drop to 5th upon entering the pits with my tyres completely worn down. No hope of winning now as we enter the final hour. :( 6th exiting the pits and for the rest of the lap.
Lap 21 - 9:52.717 (Pit-Out)
Another dreadful lap. Passed 5th just before Galgenkopf (RX-7).
Lap 22 - 9:19.474
Dull lap. :(
Lap 23 - 9:32.216 (Pit-In)
I've lost all motivation for this race. There's no point any more. With just 23 minutes left and 1st 4:30 ahead I can't win, unless his car is hit by a meteor and the driver impaled on shrapnel.
Lap 24 - 10:19.239 (Pit-Out)
A terribly pathetic lap, but honestly right now who cares? All I want right now is for this stupid race to end. Still 13 boring minutes to go, still sadly 5th. :grumpy:
Lap 25 -
Well the race is over. Couldn't be bothered doing a 26th lap so just dawdled my way to an early finish. Finished 9th, coulda come 5th.

Strangely though a bug occurred so I actually won, though I clearly came 9th. With 200% rewards, U Jelly? :sly:

Finished 25 Laps in 4 hours +~10 seconds, average speed of ~94.9mph.

1st - Fairlady
2nd - S2000 GT1
9th - Me

Didn't recall final lap time/total race time/finishing grid, but it was roughly 13:00/4:00:10. :)

Or if you're me, 4 times in a race... :dunce:

I've even seen it pile up (with no help) at aremberg on lap 1.

Just ran this race for the first time this weekend - couple hours Sat; finished Sun. Came in 2nd place by about 30seconds to the R8 LMS Race Car.

I was running the BMW i Concept car tuned to 550pp (the White one with the Black stripes); no wing, no aids, RH tires to start but switched to RM to try and catch up, but too little too late.

I didn't keep notes (I hadn't seen this thread prior) but here is what I can remember. Shortly after the start, the S2000 pulled out to a quick lead. Wasn't really gaining distance but before I know it, the R8 is on my tail. With the push we catch up to the leader on lap 2.

For some reason, I decide to let the R8 pass - I want to see how fast he is and if I can keep up. So he passes I follow, we both pass the S2000. Lap 3 and I decide enough is enough and just go. Pass R8 and I'm off, but not for long. I note I pull away for a bit, then the R8 is right back on me; warm tires I figure. R8 passes a short time later, I pit in as by the end of the lap the R8 has 10+ seconds on me. Figure I need RM tires so I make the switch.

Much better now, but I've given up well over a minutes now to the R8 and I am in 3rd place. Over the next lap or two I make good time cutting the lead to just over a minute and land back in 2nd place. On about the 3rd lap on these tires I go too fast for the first hairpin and end up deep in the sand. I have issues getting out of the sand and in my haste get pull out get slammed by the 2nd place car and spun several times, after orientating myself I see just in time the 3rd place RX-7 barreling in at me, yup gonna hit me also; slammed again and back into some sand. Again struggle to get going and upon the next time marker I'm up to a 2 minute behind the leader.

Back to it; was making good time before and catching the leader..... couple more laps go by and pit cylces and it's as if that R8 is getting faster the bigger distance. I can no longer cut anytime unless the R8 is on it's pit lap. But I can't seem to make more than 4 laps without aero helping my tires not slide, so they simply won't make 5laps. My best lap was a 8.28.xxx figure that is really good and I'm not leaving much out there, but just can't gain unless he is pitting. Got about 90minutes to go......

But it wasn't enough time, I did push one lap trying to go 5 laps on one pit and that was the nail in the coffin. After the tires went, the rest of the lap was painfully slow. Throw in another spin cost me about 30 seconds and that was too much to overcome. One more lap and he would have had to pit and I would have won. Oh well, winnning them all gets boring. Stupid R8 - all other cars were no contest.....

I'm currently half way through another attempt in the Prius of Pinkness and it's all going rather well. I'm over a minute in the lead from the HPA TT and the S2000GT1 is currently on a 6th lap of certain death.

I've got 1 less pp now (466) as I've maxed out the downforce, but put 100kg of ballast in the boot. The handling and tyre wear is much improved.

I started to do this race in the Clio V6 a few weeks back but changed my mind and went with the 111R. With the intent of coming back to the Clio.

Also on my list of "to do" is the RUF 3400S.

Testing has shown either of them could beat my Sport Soft record.

So I find myself torn between these mid-6 pocket rockets.

Such a dilemma...

I am enjoying reading through this thread. Just did some testing with my baby, my 490PP Evo IX. Did pretty well fuel wise, but after 3 laps, the fronts are going away. With RHs, I am running 9:03s, but seems that it is just too heavy on front tires.
